Old Steve-O is such an inspiration. He really has turned his life around, his lack of fear leads him to open up about things that all people struggle with but are always too "afraid" to talk about. He's an amazing person and I hope he starts making a docu movie about his life. The man truly is a legend, and he deserves all the happiness and nice things in the world. I hope his age is kind to him.
The absolute sincerity with the not being in shape and old "confessions" is amazing. Got me teary eyed. You were never my favorite in Jackass Steve-O but you are definitely my favorite now and I have been on this Steve-O binge watchaton. Totally worth it.
Imagine trying to recover from addiction when all the stupid shit you did is recorded for the world to see. Its really inspiring to see that he's been able to maintain sobriety. Addicts know embarrassment and shame all too well.
i suspect the fact that it's all recorded is a big part of what's enabled him to stay sober. seeing the footage of how much of a wreck you were when doing tons of drugs must be a pretty harsh reminder of why you need to stay sober.
The key is to embrace that your past happened, use it to push forward, and bring any shame to the forefront to attack it head-on until it has no power

The fact that he’s still alive IS a miracle, back when he was on his low point with drugs he could’ve ended his life by hanging out with the wrong crowd & over doing it, but luckily he actually had friends who cared about him.

One of the most important things I think I can teach my son (outside of faith in God) is the measure of a man is not how many times he messes up or how many mistakes he makes but what he does about it. Steve-o, if this gets back to you, I have a tremendous amount of respect for you setting a great example for my son of this. Your ability to be vulnerable about insecurities and past mistakes is phenomenal. I really appreciate the journey it took to get off drugs and to heal and to recognize your faults and make an effort to change.

I had a heavy heart when I responded to their frustration with, "humans are never going to stay the same way.. humans change in their years to grow & it is bittersweet for some... but change is what humans are supposed to be doing in unconditional self love. We are blessed to have Steve'O now. We also have endless moments on tape that we can look back at in memory & honestly gratitude for the change of uncle Steve'O 🖤🖤🖤☠️

I went back to college at 40 years old. I worked part-time on campus with a bunch of (guys and girls) who all talked about Steve O and his crazy movie. I finally saw it. FUNNY as heck. I am now 60. I graduated and teach. You have been through hell Steve. I am so happy you are living a content life. You have a tremendous amount of experience to share with the world. It takes a lot of courage to CHANGE

I grew up watching Jackass and being a fan of Steve-O and it's pretty amazing to see him doing so well. Despite all the crazy antics and his crazy life style, he seems like an intelligent person and what a serious inspiration to see a person who for literal decades has been famous for being crazy and constantly doing crazy stunts and pushing the limits not just being alive and well, but sober and looking back at his life with a laugh. I have been sober for almost 8 years now and I think back to how my life used to be and all the crazy things I did and am so grateful to be alive and well and being a Mother 💅

I kicked a 15 year coke habit because it took that long before I was able to affectively remind myself of the consequences and how humiliating and sick it would make me every time I did it and it finally overriding the urge. I was fucking DONE. He may have been harboring deep feelings of wanting to be able to function without them that he wouldn’t tell anyone. Just speculation

I met Steve-O once after one of his stand up shows (if you can, go see him, he's hilarious) and he was the most genuine and down to earth person you could ever hope to meet. One of my top five life experiences for sure!

It’s so funny how as a viewer it’s almost impossible to get that “second hand embarrassment feeling” when someone is presenting these things in a such a confident and candid way. Like “hey this was me, this is where I am now take it or leave it”. I think it speaks to how much second hand embarrassment is really just over empathizing - feeling the other persons perceived shame as your own (and reliving our past actions that we perceive as shameful that are similar). Seeing steve-o own his shit helps us all see that doing something “shameful” in your past doesn’t define you as a “shameful” person. We can fuck up and it doesn’t have to define us or destroy our self worth. Thank you for this!!

Him and the situation
While kinda dark Steve-o represents the perfect Ying-yang for me. He lived the crazy wild part of his life first and now is working super hard in sobriety and building his career in a new way. We get to enjoy both parts of him. The crazy side still exists in the jack ass movies/legacy he left. But get to see him heal/grow into a healthy amazing new form. I love Steve-O all around but I’m happy he’s happy and healthy
Steve-O is such a cool human. We need more people who can look at themselves and admit when they are wrong and most importantly DO SOMETHING to change. He's making the world a better place now and I love it.
