Stitching At The Cabin is a channel about cross stitch. We are a mother daughter flosstube that “specializes” in large projects including HAED, Chatelaine, Gecko Rouge, and Mirabilia. You will also catch us rotating through smaller projects like Mill Hill and Just Nan. We do full coverage, we do partial coverage, we do no coverage! Oh... well maybe thats just called buying excess stash. You may even see an occasional bird. Live ones. Like the ones that talk. Unless you have a fear of birds. In that case, they are puppets. We like to think we are funny, but more likely we are just easily amused. You decide.

Animals are family. In some cases closer than family. Take your time with the grief. There is no time limit to it. I love the memorial piece you are doing. Taco loved stitching with you and probably is there in spirit. Sending you healing thoughts.

Tears are therapeutic, they cleanse the sadness from our soul. Thank you for sharing all your experiences with us, it makes me feel closer to you, but not in a stalker kind of way. Your bees are beautiful, I love the colors you stitched.

It is now finished, framed and on the wall near his little box of ashes. Turns out the chemo didn't work. Mom and I will be seeing the doc in a couple days to discuss a clinical trial vs a chemo pill vs just radiation. Massive decision for her to make. Also, now my husband is bringing up a Europe trip next year. It worked!!!! I may not be able to actually attend the entirety of the retreat but we will see. At the very least, maybe I can pop into the building for a bit just to say hi (assuming you let me in). ~J

Ah, your husband is slowly coming round to a trip to Europe 😍 I really hope you can come for the whole 3 day retreat. But if not, of course I will let you in!!! Some people are just special enough to bend the rules 😄

Everyone deals with grief differently. Do what helps you, even if you spend a day crying with no stitching. So sorry for your loss. I still miss mine and always will. - Hugs 🕊️🌈
You are absolutely right. I'm sorry you have lost one/some as well. Those darn animals are just so amazing and they crawl right up into your heart and never let go. ~J

So sorry about Taco! Losing a pet is always tough. :( Loved that the wheel finally chose my WIP!! So much background is correct, I finally got to the top of their heads during it's last rotation. My niece is 7 now, so I should be able to get it done before she's 18. :)
Your WIP is truly beautiful. 11 years seems like plenty of time, but dang. Time sure flies. It'll be here before you know it. ~J
I am so sorry to hear about Taco. Losing a pet is devastating. I have the same pattern that I will be starting for my mom. Just not quite ready yet, maybe next month. Big coincidence. This is a perfect pattern. Sending you a big hug.

I'm so sorry to hear about taco. My husband refuses to get anymore dogs now that he experienced the heartache of losing Gonzo. We will see how that goes, as we still have Gidget and Khaleesi. Love the Memorial piece. Take care!!

I'm glad you like the flower Fairies! I believe you can still find a lot of those kits on the secondary market (ebay, etc.)

Oh Julie, I swear our lives are running in parallel these days. My Bonnie ( 15 yr old terrier) died on the 24th of Feb. and I have shed many tears in the past few weeks. I chose the new release by Silver Creek Samplers called “Rainbow Crossing” as a memorial for her. Yes, I was crying with you as I watched the video.
I wish our parallel lives were a bit happier. I'm so sorry about Bonnie. The day after Taco. I absolutely would have chosen Rainbow Crossing had it been available at that point. I'm so so so sorry for your loss. I know how much it hurts. Big, gentle hugs headed your way. ~J
@@stitchingatthecabin I couldn’t agree more and I am confident happier days are ahead for both of us. My mantra lately is, “Great grief only comes from great love.” And we were so lucky to have had them to love greatly!
