About the times, in most Counties working hours are longer than the times that students are at school or university, in Japan school hours go till 3:15 p.m. the average working day goes to 6:00 p.m. so it's unlikely for a worker to do the killings at 4:00 p.m.

We also have to keep in mind that in Japan the work schedule is a bit worse in comparison to the US, workers end up arriving home late evening/night. Thats why they deducted that Kira is a student pretty quickly!
fun fact: Tetsurō Araki is an animator, storyboard artist, and director who has worked on both death note and the first 3 seasons of Attack On Titan. it makes sense why Carter seems to like death note so much😃

i would interpret that as difference in levels in class and formality. despite being suited and booted, light is a peasant trying to claim to be the best. despite being shaggy and unkempt, L is the elite, the highest level of society by his birth alone, being the best by simply existing. it's a big theme in the show

The great thing about this anime is that Light is flawed. He could have played it safe and stayed hidden forever, but his ego lead him to get ahead of himself in attempt to be known and take down L. So he does dumb things like exposing himself as a police connection and student. Its smart but dumb at the same time, an intelligent strategy within a stupid decision, because he cant put a leash on his ego.

I'm starting it now it's a newer show and it's pretty damn good. I looked up the specs on it and it looks like this show is probably only one season long because the Manga ended and is only a 124. Chapters which is easily adapted to roughly 24-26 episodes. They say they're gonna release the first thirteen and then the last bit will be released in the winter

I think the aot fanbase is bigger and so active on these platforms because most ppl react to aot. I think aot reactions are the most popular videos for the anime community. Therefore they get more views. Also aot blooms the most during anytime here anime is becoming more accepted and mainstream. As it’s still up to date it gets most attention. Honestly before aot it was definitely death note with a fanbase known like it. In size, discussions and humor.
I would like to suggest „PUELLA MADOKA MAGICA“ to you. It‘a a popular magical girl Anime with a twist that might be interresting to you as well as a fresh experience. It has a very unique story, artstyle, a wonderful OST throughout the whole show, not too many episodes. Please give it a try!

I feel like Brig is talkin too much/too early. I know he has watched (most) of it before and already knew some stuffs, and he isn't spoiling the plot, but sometimes when others have certain thoughts, he's too quick to point out they are right or wrong, without giving them time to figure that out themselves. If they are watching alone, they wouldn't have someone telling them "yeah that's right" or "no that's wrong", and they will need to keep watching more to understand it later.
If I'm watching an anima or any show that i have watched with a friend that has not, and they have certain thoughts or questions that is gonna be cleared, I would just tell them to keep watching. Only explaining the stuffs that they won't be understanding due to other reasons, such as cultural difference.
Its annoying that no reactors on YT have the balls to stand up to the gatekeeping "sub only" folks. They literally get their way with EVERY other anime and literally no one cares, but they cant let other people enjoy an excellent dubbed product, even once. 😒 This is the one show where I refuse to watch subbed reactions

this show is all about deductive skills. all the info L or Light know ( or dont know ( Dramatic Irony)) is shown to us in one way or another in the anime before it is described as a plot point or twist. Kinda like the yagami name plate reveal that his dad is the head of police. hence why he knows everything that L might be doing based on his dad's department research.
