    I especially like your watercolor portraits! The more I watch your demos, the more I realize that the dampness of the page is particularly important. I saw in one video that you placed paper towels beneath your watercolor paper.
    I have a home in a very hot, windy, and dry area in SW New Mexico. I can't paint as fast as you, and my paper dries very quickly. Can I untape, rewet the back, and reattach without problems, or should I wait another day before trying this?

    • @watercoloronlinemsolovyev
      @watercoloronlinemsolovyev  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you very much, Jeanie! I'll tell you even more. If you wet the back side properly and start painting on the front dry side, you don't have to use tape.
      You can continue to wet the back side from time to time. It just needs to be done very carefully so as not to damage the painting. But this way you can keep the paper wet for as long as you need.

      @jeanielaramie6617 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@watercoloronlinemsolovyev I did not realize that. So the water forms a (vacuum) to hold? You just gave me an "aha" moment.

    • @jeanielaramie6617
      @jeanielaramie6617 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As per your advice, I broke down and finally purchased a good quality paper. Omg! Worth every additional cent! Also, I took your advice to wet the back side as my painting progressed. Words cannot describe the difference. Next purchase will be a board to place my paper on. (I confess, I have been taping to cardboard.) Thank you! I appreciate your gracious teaching and your willingness to share your years of experience.
      I am so fascinated by your portrait studies and your ability to work with such limited palettes. They are superb!

    Thank you for this great lesson. Do you wet the backside of the paper for 15 minutes? Or a few minutes and then wait for 15 minutes to start?

    • @watercoloronlinemsolovyev
      @watercoloronlinemsolovyev  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I wet the back of my paper in 12-15 minutes in advance, before start.
