Tracy I would like to start by thanking you for your 29 years of service for our country! I love your training videos you are detailed and I appreciate that! I retired a few years ago from the technical world. I’ve just started doing sublimation and am really enjoying it. Your videos have helped me tremendously! If you don’t mind me asking how is your Etsy shop doing regarding sells of your tumblers? Eventually I may want to do this. Thank you again for your great videos!
Thank you very much! We started our Etsy store last August. It started out slow but started to gain momentum around October. We started getting 5 star reviews and at Christmas time we did very well. It has been steady business since then! We also do craft fairs which also helps get the word out about our store.
@@SnazzyMoonDesigns thank you for your quick response! I will be looking forward to more of your videos! 👍🏼
@@mtnmamacolo1 Thanks for watching!
Hi, how do you add the black line around your picture so I can cut out on that line?
I added it with my design program Affinity Designer. I will have to make a video showing how!
Thank you for this. I finally got my hands on some! Do I have to shrink wrap it to use in my oven?
You do not have to shrink wrap them when using your oven but I suggest you do. The shrink wrap keeps pressure on the design against the bottle and helps prevent ghosting.
@@SnazzyMoonDesigns Thank you for replying. One more question I have the silicone cup wraps that’s what I use for my mugs. I’m going to try the shrink wrap this will be my first tumbler 😊
Good luck!
Thank you for this tutorial!!!! They came out beautiful!!!!
Why does the door look like some one told him to move out the way and he tried to squeeze himself out the frame
What was the temperature of the oven and how long did you leave it? Sorry no closed captions and I'm hard of hearing
380 for 8 minutes
Where did you get the rubber bottom?
I got them with a order of 20 oz skinny tumblers but did not use them on the tumblers
Hi, just watched this video. I don’t know if it is just the video or not, but it seemed like the tumbler press bottle’s black ink looked darker than the oven one. I really like your videos! Thank you.
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
This video is confusing, I didn’t know Walmart sold sublimation bottles. I have glass bottles like this from Walmart but they are not sublimation
Hello, Walmart sold these last summer. I am not sure if they will be selling them again this summer. If not you can get them here: www.aghtumbler.com/Sublimation-Glass-Cups-c830723.html
Are the jars specifically made for sublimation or are they frosted jars?
They are just frosted jars which allows the sublimation ink to transfer!
You said this is a Walmart tumbler? Did you prep the glass with a polyester coating first before sublimating on it? Very pretty design!
No prep was necessary. I just sublimated it like any other sublimation blank. Thanks for watching!
thanks for sharing, I hesitated on getting those bottles from Walmart but I may try them.
Thanks for watching!
I can never find them, not sure if I'm searching for the wrong thing
@@clarethagray3264 They are in the summer section of the Walmarts with the coolers and chairs and such!
@@SnazzyMoonDesigns thanks
Can you post the link in your description to these water bottles.
Sorry there is no link. They were purchased at Walmart.
Why do you run you nail down the center?
To make sure that the seam line is pressed against the glass to prevent ghosting at the seam.
Are these just regular glass or sublimation glass?
They are frosted glasses so you can sublimate on them. You can not sublimate on the clear glass ones. Thanks for watching!
The photo in the thumbnail didn’t appear in the video. Could you mention the name/type of tumbler and how much did they cost at your store? Thank you!
They are Mainstay frosted glass bottles sold at Walmart in the summer section for $5.98
Which convection oven are you using?
Kitchenaid dual convection oven Model KCO255BM
Great video and I love the image! I didn't know you could sub on glass. Am I missing something?
Frosted glass and also clear glass if the clear glass has been treated for sublimation
So any frosted glass, no matter where it came from can be sublimated on?
@@Crafts-and-cocktails That is what I have been reading on the Facebook groups. I have not personally tried any other frosted glass items.
great video silly question was it a normal oven and not microwave
It is a convection oven made by Kitchenaid. Thanks for watching.
thank you
Has anyone done it on the glasses not frosted
The clear non frosted glasses will not sublimate.
I can’t find frosted anywhere found one in all of Walmart with the holographic look 😔
Thank you for the video. Big help! I also have a arc mug press. I am having issues trying to find the 20-30oz tumbler attachment. Do you know where I could purchase one?
Sorry I do not know where you can purchase one. Thanks for watching!
How do you add a black border around the design where to trim? You explained very clearly, and I learned fast from your several videos!! Thank you!!
I do that with Affinity Designer. Hard to explain unless you watch one of my Affinity Designer videos. Thanks for watching!
love the video. where do you get the rubber bottoms?
Thank you! I had the rubber bottoms from a order of 20 oz tumblers I received a few months ago. They came with rubber bottoms and metal straws.
New to sub, I just got my press and had stocked up on these bottles when I found then, I think I have 5 of most colors...if you are doing an image on just one side do you just do 80 seconds total?
I do 380 degrees for 70 seconds rotate and then another 70 seconds. Don't start your first timer until the tumbler press gets back up to temperature after you have placed your bottle in the tumbler press.
What temperature do you use and time for ceramic tumblers? I have made few tumblers and it has tape marks on it, i have my pressure in the lightest setting but still has tape marks and colors are dull and made my tumbler not gloss unkike the oven. I got my tumbler from AGH and my press on AGH too.please help ☺️
I do not like to sublimate my tumblers in a press because the press leaves tape marks and ghosting on the ends of the tumblers when using a dark colored design. I only use a convection oven for my tumblers so they turn out nice every time!
Hi and thank you for the video. I tried to sublimate a Glas tumbler (transparate glas) in the often. It didn't work out. I was so frustrated. As I saw in your video, you are using a kind of plastic white bag with you ve put on the glas bottle , I didn't get the name of it and I would be very thankful of you could write me the name of this bag . and one more question, which paper do you use in this video . Thank you so much and regards from Germany :)
Glad I could help! I use shrink wrap on my tumblers! This is what I use: amzn.to/3MApFvs
Also I use Asub 125 paper amzn.to/3ltwFOO
awesome! can you tell me if it s dishwasher and microwave safe when done? thanks
Not dishwasher or microwave safe. Recommendations are to hand wash only with soap and water.
They look great but just curious if after time it will start to fade. I only asked because I sublimated some journals that took the ink well but after time it fade. So, if I do them again, i know I need to but a sealant on them.
Thanks for sharing! Tracey
Thank you for watching. Only time will tell if they start to fade. I hope not!
I don't think you mentioned that it's at temperature but didn't mention what temp is set? you said 8 minutes, can you tell us what temp.
380 for 8 minutes
Like the video nice design where can I get the glass bottles at Walmart instore or online? Thank you
I found mine after driving to 3 different Walmarts. They are located in the summer section. Not all Walmarts have them from what I have been reading. Thanks for watching.
Thank you! I purchased one of these glasses to experiment with
Hope you like it!
Great video. They came out awesome 🤩
Thank you 🤗
Very cute. How were you able to use these if they weren't prepared for sublimation? Can any glassware be used that doesn't have the sublimation preparation already on it?
Thanks so much for video.
It is because the frosting on bottles allows sublimation. The clear ones will not sublimate.
@@SnazzyMoonDesigns Thanks for your help
Where did you get your tumbler press? I don't see it listed
Facebook Marketplace.
Could you share the scan code of the water bottle or even the brand name
The brand name is Mainstays Frosted Glass Bottle MS23100074040PK scan code 6 947225 820652
What if you removed the shrink wrap while it’s hot?
You can do that. I have done it. Just be careful it is very very hot!
Is it just the frosted glass or can you sub the clear ones also
Just the frosted ones! The clear ones will not sublimate without some type of sublimation coating. Thanks for watching!
My shrink wrap melts to my cups and glass, I have to put a layer of paper over the entire cup then wrap.
How does yours not melt?
I've had to throw away since it melts, using a knife could not get off
Maybe you are using too much heat. Shrink wrap is only good up to 360 degrees and 380 at the most!
What size did you print
9.4 x 7
Great video! I am new to sublimation tumblers. What tumbler press do you have? You explain things very clearly - thank you! Where do you get the rubber bottoms?
I bought the tumbler press from someone on Marketplace. The brand name is in Chinese but it is very similar to a JTRANS brand. The rubber bottoms came from a batch of tumblers I had previously ordered which came with rubber bottoms and metal straws.
What type of Wal-Mart glass is it?
It is a frosted Walmart bottle that is currently in the summer items area!
Thank you for taking the time to make this very clear video. I like your king designs gadget too so the bottle doesn't roll.
Thanks for watching!
Hi, I’m watching this video right now. Did you have to put something special on the bottle in order to sublimate on it? I thought with glass you had to put it on a clear or white Oracle vinyl in order to sublimate on it. Thanks!
No need with these frosted bottles! Thanks for watching!
@@SnazzyMoonDesigns can you specify what bottle at Walmart it is? I looked online but didn’t find it. Thanks!
The brand name is Mainstays Frosted Glass Bottle MS23100074040PK scan code 6 947225 820652
How did you get to get so Pigmented? I’m having trouble with that. I have a sawgrass.
I use a Epson F170 Sublimation printer.
I just bought this same Epson printer…waiting for it to be delivered on Wednesday. Do you like this printer and think it was worth it vice converting an Epson printer? I went with the F170 because I didn’t want to convert, wanted a warranty and support (if needed). I hope I made a wise investment.
I really like my Epson F170! The colors are great and I have not had any problems with it!
TFS, new sub👍🏽
Awesome! Thank you!
Do u have a link to bottles
Sorry I do not! They were purchased from my local Walmart store.
I printed 9.4x7 and it was a tad big. Do you have any idea why?
You can trim it down to the design that is what I did. Thanks for watching
The same thing happened to me also. But if you turn the paper sideways it's the right size
Beautiful work
Thank you! The Walmart bottles was a sublimation phase we went through! Thanks for watching!
love that design, may i ask where you got it from, so i could purchase it , looks great on the bottle
I made it. you can purchase it here www.etsy.com/listing/1230833875/sweet-tea-glass-tumbler-sublimation
What is the temperature in the oven? Thanks
380 for 8 minutes
Awesome teaching! Thank you. Were these just regular glass bottles? Not specifically for sublimation?
Another question do you know if a regular oven can be used in place of the convention over?
They were frosted bottles which allows you to sublimate on them. The clear ones will not sublimate. Also is is not a good idea to use a regular oven for sublimation especially if you use it to cook food. A convection oven evenly distributes the heat around the tumbler with the use of a fan or fans.
@@SnazzyMoonDesigns a BIG THANK YOU for your reply. I’ll be following you for more tutorials. Great teacher!!!
@@SnazzyMoonDesigns does this mean that you can also put them in the dishwasher? Even though they don't have a sublimation spray like subli glaze on them?
@@amandaevans-vanhook9787 I would not recommend putting them in a dishwasher. Hand wash only.
Amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
😍
Thanks for watching!
This was great! Thank you! I just got a bunch of these bottles and can't wait to try this! What brand is your heat press?
It does not have a brand name on it. It is all in Chinese. I think it is very similar to a J-Trans
@@SnazzyMoonDesigns thank you. I’ve been looking on Alibaba and Aliexpress for ones with good reviews
Do you need to do anything to prep the glass?
I just wipe it down with a lint free cloth! Thanks for watching!
@@SnazzyMoonDesigns thanks for getting back to me so quickly!!!
