    Usain definitely gets the headlines, but Asafa was the man!!! Best in the world!!! I do believe Usain is the better all time sprinter, but Asafa didn’t get his just due during his prime. May simply be because of the coverage and also the personality of Usain. Asafa just ran. World record holder for years!!!

      @kidscanreadtv6821 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Usain is outgoing and also has a great personality. He had his trademark pose and was very likeable and talented. Safa is likeable and was shy. Gatlin said that they were competing for years and never heard Asafa talk. So I get why Safa wouldn't get as much publicity. The Asafa of today is so much more outspoken that the one who came one the athletic scene over a decade ago.

      let's give Usain Bolt his flowers. Asafa did his things but Usain Bolt took Jamaica to the next level. Everybody started to fear Jamaica because of Usain Bolt. He was cool, strong, fan friendly and unbeatable. Plus he made Jamaican win different races, 100m, 200m. 400m. etc.. Asafa was good but prime for prime Usain Bolt was the man hands down.

    First search the video called: When You ACCIDENTALLY Break A World Record at 4:06 for the split times from the TH-camr called Total Running Productions: Well if you look at the split times within the video and you then find the difference between each split for every 10m from in between the 20m and the 30m mark all the way to in between the 90m and 100m mark: Bolt's split differences within his 100m world record: 0.90, 0.86, 0.83, 0.82, 0.81, 0.82, 0.83, 8.83 so you see with this, bolt's top speed has barely decreased from in between his peak speed between the 60m and 70m mark all the way to in between the 90m and the 100m mark only by 2 hundreths of a second. Whearas Powell's split differences were: 0.91, 0.86, 0.84, 0.83, 0.83, 0.83, 0.86, 0.90. So you see with Powell how consistent his top speed was in between the 40 and the 50m mark all the way to the 70m and the 80m mark but then after that he slowed down in between the 80m and the 90m mark and then in between the 90m and the 100m mark he slowed down massively, so even if he just managed to maintain that 0.86s split difference from the 80m and the 90m mark of where he just slowed down slightly into the slowest split in between the 90m and the 100m mark instead he would of got a minimum overall 100m time of at least 9.70 seconds: 9.74 - 0.90 + 0.86 = 9.70s. And the fastest time he could of possibly have got if he had maintained that 0.83s split difference instead into the last two splits in between the 80m and the 90m mark and also the 90m and the 100m mark would've been about 9.64 seconds: 9.74 - 0.90 - 0.86 + 0.83 + 0.83 = 9.64s. So overall if Powell didn't slow down massively on what he had ran, his time would've been roughly in between 9.64 seconds to 9.70 seconds. And BTW I'm not saying that powell is faster than Bolt because even if Powell managed to maintain onto his fastest consistent top speed of the 0.83s splits at the end, he still wouldn't of broken Bolt's record anyway and also I'm not saying that this is an entirely accurate fact aswell, as it is just an estimation. So just let it be that Bolt is just the fastest man in the world at the moment and in history. But Asafa Powell is still the 4th fastest man of all time so he’s obviously still a great athlete too.

    you all made us very hapi at home and abroad:)
    however..
    veronica-campbell-brown was “shining” before, 2008, from Sydney 2,000 (with merlene) then Athens 2004 with so many firsts for ja) and even before (as world junior, world youth) but for whatever reason(s) “some” jcans seem reluctant to give her the full credit she deserves for all those early years of works. Building blocks.
    safa was shining every time he broke the world record (before 2008) and usain was shining as world junior and world youth with much potential. The “revival” after don quarrie, merlene ottey had already been reignited..leading up to the 2008 olympics.

Your comment well noted Robinson9608 give thanks. Please note i was referring to asafa’s reasoning regarding “beginning to shine in 2008” i personally believe “the shining” started before then with vcb’s impressive performances at 2004 olympics, usain’s junior and youth accomplishments plus asafa’s world records. i also noted a lot of deserving athletes names were mentioned but not vcb’s so i mentioned her..may her huge contributions to ja “never be forgotten.” This was not a jab or missed point of discussion. winning a race is different from dominating the entire event for both events, sweeping the medals and literally keeping all other nations off the podium. That's when our reign began. We've always won races here and there but nothing beats doing it at the Olympics and that started 2008. So don't be nitpicky. Just take the interview for what it is.
