Bolts greatest victory hands down. No one thought he could do it from the physical standpoint, but it was MORE impressive that he broke Gatlin’s mental game. That was the biggest surprise.

That was the greatest Bolt race in my view, it was the race that showed me that he was the GOAT. If you can win even when you are not at your best physically that tells me you are the GOAT.
2015 Justin was a beast forsure. For me, my favorite season to watch Justin in is his 2014 season. Traveling all around the world, running the 100 in these cool super-hero looking speed suits and winning. Even though there was no world champs that year, as a fan it was such a 'fun' season to watch!

I think Bolt's and Gatlin's World Championships were poetic. No one thought Bolt would win in 2015, and he did. No one thought Gatlin would win 2017, and he did.

Bolt didn't even expect himself to win in 2015. He was lucky Gatlin didn't put himself together.

If bolt trained a little like he did in 2015 he would’ve won the 100 and 200 in 2017, he didn’t train at all,
200 was never his strong event. No matter what Bolt did he was never gonna win 2017. His time was up. That's why he left.

If you know the real story of Bolt's 2017 season, he only ran because they practically begged him to, he did not train, hence the injury.

His coach told him don’t go unless you’re serious, bolt had motivation problems he already completed the triple double and that was his career goal. Their was nothing left to prove.
Partly true, he was hampered with an injury earlier in that year in fall training then he was faced with the passing of his friend too
Bolt was racked wth injuries the whoe 2015.He started training late and in fact had called off his participation in world champs because those injuries just had him.Remember Bolt has cured spine because of Scoliosis and is always in some degree of pain.It was the organizers who begged and begged him to compete.Remember, athletics was taking a beating, and Bolt was literally seen as the saviour. The organizers beegged him to compete because they coudnt stand the thought of Gatlin winning after coming back from a SECOND drug suspension, they were panicking. They feared that if Gatlin came back and won then people would be done with track and field. Gatlin was literally beating all comers with some fast times and looked certain to win . Bolt agreed not so much for the organizers but for the fans, and as they say,the rest is history.
Gatlin didn't buckle under the pressure in the final, he ran a 9.80 into -0.5 headwind. He basically ran as fast if not faster than he had ever run (9.74 with +0.9ms) but out of form, unfit Bolt was still there so Gatlin tried to extend for more and it wasn't there because he maxed out. That last 5-7m is what it looks like when you're maxed out and start trying to run faster than you are actually capable of running.
This is a great lesson that timing is everything. When it's your time it's your time.
Always upsets me Gatlin fumbled 2015 final. He was unstoppable that year.

This is... GAT had the best all-around season in 2015. And although he's very strong mentally, it's different when you line up against Bolt whom he hadn't faced all year! So automatically, your mind doesn't know how to process that. And GAT was leading a bit in that race, but Usain was coming and he knows it. And that's when your mind and body crumbles because you don't know how to process that.
In 2017 Bolt was injured as well so ppl need to remember that. He’s one of the greatest though
This was indeed the greatest statistical 100m season of all time. This also was the ONLY time in Gatlins career where he buckled under the pressure......He made up for this by being the underdog and winning the 2017 World Title...........Unpopular opinion, Gatlin is the 2nd greatest American 100m sprinter of all time behind Carl Lewis (most would say Mo Greene). Bolt Final 2015 was 9.79 with wind of -0.5m/s. Corrected for wind = 9.76
In fact Gatlin has never ran as fast as bolt did in that final if you correct for wind/conditions.

Xu that’s not how track and field works lil bro. Training and preparation is everything and bolt was definitely not at his best in 2015. Not by a long shot. That was perfect opportunity to beat him, but was more prepared for finals pressure. If you have never ran track Ian a big finals before. You have no idea what that is like.
