good morning good morning! I asked a few questions in today's video about the squash seeds and the crock of my crockpot! please help a girl out and let me know if you have anything helpful for either or both! thanks so much!
Don’t lend your crockpot out! I have learned my lesson the hard way! I don’t borrow and I don’t lend! Just because I have learned no one will take care of my things like I will! Not trying to be mean to my family or my friends but I would prefer not to lend out! One too many times I had to learn the same lesson! 😞
Fill your Crock-Pot past the burnt area with hot water then add a fourth a cup of baking soda and run your crock-Pot on high for like an hour and a half should get it out
Just starting the video and already have to comment....thank you so much for laying out all the ingredients at the start of the video, I find that incredibly helpful ❤
Oh a small paint scraper with get any cooked on stuff. And if you roast the squash without scoping and scoop after - the seeds are cooked and you can roast just a few means to toast up.😊. Ohio girl here and you can make a pretty good Cincinnati chili with lentils instead of meat!!! I love your recipes - you make it so easy to switch up if you done have exact measurements!!!! Thank you!!!
Dawn power wash or bleach are my go tos for stains, I’ve even been desperate enough to use bar keepers friend and a stainless steel wool (with caution!) Also, recipe looks amazing! I’ll prob make this today!
Yum yum yum 😋 thanks, I’m totally making chili this weekend now - I love it stuffed into a Japanese sweet potato 🍠 The pasta idea sounds delicious as well ❤️
My brother in Chicago calls it Chili Mac, and they set up a toppings bar along side. So good! I don't like cutting butternut squash either. It's so slimy, and it's hard to get it off your hands. Tasty though!
I see people answered about the squash seeds and the crock pot cleaning, but I wanted to chime in and suggest you microwave your squash whole before peeling and chopping. You just need to stab it with a fork a few times and then microwave it for about five minutes. Then it should be really easy to remove the peel and dice it. You can then still roast the seeds if you want.
We have a cold front here in Florida, and we were talking about making chili, but I didn't want the same taste, if that makes sense. This is a great idea!
I only have $11.75 before tax for food each week. Please give advice for 20 meals as I eat Sunday lunch with friends after church. I eat meat so don't need extra protein supplements. Thanks, I love your videos.
Find out if your city has a scratch & dent type of food store. These kinds of stores have dented cans, close to expiring foods, dented boxes, etc. at a fraction of the regular price.
@@KesaMcDonald start with a bag of lentils, carrots, onion. Box of elbow macaroni. Make a pot of minestrone, lentil salad, toast for breakfast with peanut butter

You can roast (low temp) and eat butternut squash seeds like pumpkin! I love to cook with curry powder. Hope you feel better!

I do the same but with dish soap
If you cut the squash in half, scoop and roast cut side down. The peal comes off so easy when it’s done. Then I add it cut up last to the soup😊

Hello Miranda! Maybe this is a regional thing but I learned to cook with bitternut squash with the skin on. Love your recipe, will try it out!
They also sell frozen butternut and sweet potato. I get it at Walmart. Much easier.
Chili over elbow pasta, that’s how we’ve always had it.
Definitely eat them.like pumpkin seeds!

Have you tried Barkeepers friend fir the burnt crockpot? That has saved many burnt pots in my life!
Just put a similar soup in my instapot. Pinto beans instead of white beans and no tomato. Adding some kale before eating!! Yum! Love this recipe too!

Will add this recipe to my meal plan this week! I have some squash in the freezer and didn’t know what to do with it! 😊
I love chili over pasta!! We always ate leftover chili over spaghetti and my dad called it “Chili Red”.

Have you tried soaking a dryer sheet in hot water in the crock? If not, that is my recommendation.
Yup, you can roast squash seeds. They’re really good! I’m with you on peeling squash- it’s so unpleasant.
Dawn power wash and boiling water. Let it soak and then use a silver scratchy pad will come right off.
