    honestly josh smith had the potential to be an incredible player because he could pass really good for a 4, rebounded really good and scored so well. he was great at blocking and stealing the ball and was so athletic. he literally did it all

    Imagine prime josh smith in today's game he would be a perfect center for small ball damn it's so scary when you think about it

      nah, once he left Detroit. He was heavily disappointing there, but he was still putting up better numbers then most forwards.
      houston's shoot at will mentality killed Josh.

    • @reignmans
      @reignmans 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Detroit and the max contract killed his career. max contract means you have to act like a SUPERSTAR which he clearly NEVER was. that meant he had to take more shots , more 3pts and shit... which killed his career with the analytics etc.

    • @TheAfghan72
      @TheAfghan72 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Detroit didn't kill him, positioning him at the 3 was a terrible choice since he played the 4 his whole career. Starting him at small forward gave him the excuse to chuck random 3's, i would say this was one of SVG"s baddest coaching blunder. And i big to differ about him not being a superstar, he had all the potential to be one but he didn't have the attitude of one, he was lazy and cocky a bit like Dwight Howard.
      I do believe when Detroit cut him affected him mentally and affected his confidence.

    I still feel like jsmoove is underrated. He is phenomenal on both ends of the floor,has a shot, and post moves.he's really a dream for any team to have.

  • @Mxckery
    @Mxckery 9 ปีที่แล้ว +101

    Reason why Jsmoove was terrible in Detroit was because Gundy placed him at the 3? He's way more comfortable at the 4 where he blocks and rebounds but they had Monroe so that explains it

    • @yomommafave2997

      He kept on shooting threes when he joined the pistons, if he came back to that inside scoring PF that he used to be instead of shooting long range jumpers, then he can be a big impact player like he used to be.

    • @full6330name
      @full6330name 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      DBZfreakmotorbikebud They had Monroe and Drummond and for some reason they taught is a good idea to put Josh Smith in a SF position and expect him not to shoot. He couldn't even go inside. There was Monroe standing around mid range and Drummond inside and their defenders. I blame Smith a little bit but most of the blame goes on Pistons and theri coaching and menagment.

  • @lilmoe102
    @lilmoe102 10 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    He got cut instead of traded which is the most surprising thing. You at least want to get something out of him if you don't want him. They fact that he got cut says a lot. I can definitely see him go to a place like Dallas, New York, or Sacramento coming off the bench. I'd say Dallas is the most likely place he'll wind up because Mark Cuban likes bringing in guys no one else wanted like Monta Ellis, Raymond Felton, Rashard Lewis etc.

    I don't expect them to land Lebron, Melo, or anything. But getting Smith this year is step one, it shows they can get big names to come. Who knows, maybe other big names might want to join Smith. Especially if they see Detroit as a rising team and making the playoffs. Plus they have cap room next summer, and have good trade pieces. Point is, Detroit is in a good situation now. Not a crappy team that sees tanking as an option. I don't agree with that method, it doesn't always improve the team.

      For sure, also I think we are going to the finals, also we need to beat clipppers which I believe we can and man this roster is by the far best in Rockets or at least these 2 years Bev/Harde/Ariza, Brewer/Smith/D12. and bench as well have nothing but scoring, defense, Dorsey, D-Mo, Cannan, etc. I'm loving it and I've always love my Rockets! Morey is pretty damn good and I think Dwight, Smith will stay for a long time and of course Harden cause we brought him here and let him take over and be the one player that don't bounce around to another team cause he want to be like Kobe, MJ and is loyal so yeah

      Ke DE They are a great team, Houston is solely focusing on the Playoffs this time around. Rockets have A Defense and guys surrounding James Harden who need to score. #Pursuit
