honestly josh smith had the potential to be an incredible player because he could pass really good for a 4, rebounded really good and scored so well. he was great at blocking and stealing the ball and was so athletic. he literally did it all
nah, once he left Detroit. He was heavily disappointing there, but he was still putting up better numbers then most forwards. houston's shoot at will mentality killed Josh.
Detroit and the max contract killed his career. max contract means you have to act like a SUPERSTAR which he clearly NEVER was. that meant he had to take more shots , more 3pts and shit... which killed his career with the analytics etc.
Detroit didn't kill him, positioning him at the 3 was a terrible choice since he played the 4 his whole career. Starting him at small forward gave him the excuse to chuck random 3's, i would say this was one of SVG"s baddest coaching blunder. And i big to differ about him not being a superstar, he had all the potential to be one but he didn't have the attitude of one, he was lazy and cocky a bit like Dwight Howard. I do believe when Detroit cut him affected him mentally and affected his confidence.
I still feel like jsmoove is underrated. He is phenomenal on both ends of the floor, has a shot, and post moves.he's really a dream for any team to have.
Reason why Jsmoove was terrible in Detroit was because Gundy placed him at the 3? He's way more comfortable at the 4 where he blocks and rebounds but they had Monroe so that explains it
J snooze is so athletic in the open court I have never seen anyone with his athleticism, size to be so dangerous off the dribble him and LeBron are two of the best athletic forwards in the game today
He kept on shooting threes when he joined the pistons, if he came back to that inside scoring PF that he used to be instead of shooting long range jumpers, then he can be a big impact player like he used to be.
DBZfreakmotorbikebud They had Monroe and Drummond and for some reason they taught is a good idea to put Josh Smith in a SF position and expect him not to shoot. He couldn't even go inside. There was Monroe standing around mid range and Drummond inside and their defenders. I blame Smith a little bit but most of the blame goes on Pistons and theri coaching and menagment.
Josh Smith was sick back in Atlanta... I'm not gonna talk about Detroit or Houston tho 😂 ... I hope we'll see some more of the young Josh Smith now that he's reunited with Jamal Crawford!!!
He got cut instead of traded which is the most surprising thing. You at least want to get something out of him if you don't want him. They fact that he got cut says a lot. I can definitely see him go to a place like Dallas, New York, or Sacramento coming off the bench. I'd say Dallas is the most likely place he'll wind up because Mark Cuban likes bringing in guys no one else wanted like Monta Ellis, Raymond Felton, Rashard Lewis etc.
lol I live in Detroit and I know how he is, if your home team Is the kings rockets or clippers you should definitely be scared if theirs a chance hes coming to your team one of the worst players I've ever seen I've been to so many pistons games and this guy is not a consistent shooter, terrible teamate, misses free throws constantly and a ball hog he thinks he's something hes not hes shooting 20% from 3 point land and takes over 5+ 3s a game this man is a cancer to any NBA team YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Josh Smith said he didnt want to go anywhere else but Detroit. Said he had offers and could have gone to houston but respected the Pistons history and saw a bright future there.
DO A PAUL PIERCE TOP 10. He has made so many clutch plays in his career, and now he will just retire with the Nets. Give one of the most underrated players in the NBA some recognition!
Max athleticism with crazy strength and a powerful build with a nose for weak side blocks but with Antoine Walker’s shot selection and shit-tastic defensive IQ. But DAMN was he fun to watch
He was a descent player for a while but I've been kind of disappointed on how he turned out. Imagine if he had a consistent jumper or a great handle, with that athleticism, he'd be amazing.
I don't expect them to land Lebron, Melo, or anything. But getting Smith this year is step one, it shows they can get big names to come. Who knows, maybe other big names might want to join Smith. Especially if they see Detroit as a rising team and making the playoffs. Plus they have cap room next summer, and have good trade pieces. Point is, Detroit is in a good situation now. Not a crappy team that sees tanking as an option. I don't agree with that method, it doesn't always improve the team.
For sure, also I think we are going to the finals, also we need to beat clipppers which I believe we can and man this roster is by the far best in Rockets or at least these 2 years Bev/Harde/Ariza, Brewer/Smith/D12. and bench as well have nothing but scoring, defense, Dorsey, D-Mo, Cannan, etc. I'm loving it and I've always love my Rockets! Morey is pretty damn good and I think Dwight, Smith will stay for a long time and of course Harden cause we brought him here and let him take over and be the one player that don't bounce around to another team cause he want to be like Kobe, MJ and is loyal so yeah
Ke DE They are a great team, Houston is solely focusing on the Playoffs this time around. Rockets have A Defense and guys surrounding James Harden who need to score. #Pursuit
I miss the Joe Johnson-Jamal Crawford-Josh Smith-Al Horford lineup in Atlanta.
Don't forget Mike Bibby. I miss that team so much now that I think about it.
Me to
How do you like this lineup we got now?
And Bibby
just by hearing all those names now...thats a championship caliber lineup
honestly josh smith had the potential to be an incredible player because he could pass really good for a 4, rebounded really good and scored so well. he was great at blocking and stealing the ball and was so athletic. he literally did it all
Dude just refused to stop shooting
He was lite lebron
Poor man's Ben Simmons
@@BennBeckman0518 other way around
Imagine prime josh smith in today's game he would be a perfect center for small ball damn it's so scary when you think about it
Then don't think about it
And He's in Ben Simmons Body
Josh Smith's career died once he left Atlanta.
yep
nah, once he left Detroit. He was heavily disappointing there, but he was still putting up better numbers then most forwards.
houston's shoot at will mentality killed Josh.
SportsCardMan true

Carlos Martinez. He was better at the 3 when he was younger he needed to loose weight
No true point guard either. But imagine trying to get to the basket with the floor spacing from, um, Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond.
Young at SF
Old at PF
@@raizen4271 dam cuh commenting on a 9yr comment lol shout out to you I'm still around God bless
And he was 250 lbs if he was at the three he would’ve rather been at 225 lbs lol
J snooze is so athletic in the open court I have never seen anyone with his athleticism, size to be so dangerous off the dribble him and LeBron are two of the best athletic forwards in the game today
Was so 😂😂
He was one of the reasons why I loved Hawks. Thanks for all these great memories J Smoove!
smith used to be one of my fav players, he stuffed the stat sheets and could do a little of everything on the hawks, i hope he gets back to that
From this...to being waived. I still belive he's a good player just needs the right situation.
Yeah, coming off the bench for a contender. He'll flourish, oh and a coach who's not afraid to tell him to fucking stop shooting threes.
1985 Charles Barkley He just needs to snap out of it and do what coaches are telling him to do. He has to much talent to be remembered like this.
armin38822 I concur

Bruh he's a good fit in Houston
+Palmer Fricks I'm not even a Houston fan but he gels so well with dwight it's scary when those two get going and throw alley oops to each other bruh
Mommi
Hes a good fit at houston what you sayin
Maybe most underrated player of all time. That guy did it all on the court.
#4 is just nasty. Definetly one of the more underrated dunkers of all time
So proud Dirk finally made second on a top ten list !
Josh Smith's dunks are some of the best looking and fiercest dunks I've ever seen.
Whose watching this in 2018? He will forever be my favorite player. He was literally Draymond Green before Draymond Green was Draymond Green.
*who is
Hell no he’s way better than Draymond Green, he on a whole different level
Draymond but twice as athletic
Incredible athlete, just a very suspect shooter. He would be a star player in today’s NBA . I wish he never left ATL
he just shoots to damn much.
Welcome the new member of the Houston Rockets..Joshhhhhhh Smithhhhh!
What a great player, I admire him alot
He made huge mistake by not joining The Rockets
well he's here now
Luke Molloy Yesir
This guy, man, he's all about highlights! What a top 10!
Please come back to Atlanta
he in my city now
Trevor Sawyers You can keep him, he's terrible now.
They don't need him 😁
I don't have time to keep up with every sport I want mate, but thanks for helping me out and sharing the info ;)
im getting the same PS4 add for every video i watch
i' getting no add, you know what an addblocker is?
Wow PS4 has been out 4 year's already? Damn time flies by so quick.
@@imnosheepmostpeopleare7271 7 years now... 😶
Welcome to Detroit! We're happy to have you
Josh Smith is one of the last 'true' power forwards.
He is playing small forward now for the Pistons? Quite ironic isn t it? ;)
He's playing small forward, idiot
no he's not cuz he thinks hes a stretch 4, keeps on taking long 2s and 3s even when he absolutely stinks at it
lamarcus aldridge is a true power forward for instance, has a post up game, a face up game. and can shoot midrange js
@Nick Jim so Charles Barkley isn't a "true" power forward?
I can watch #4 over and over and over again... damn
Come to Houston!!!!! For 2/3M a year (after waivers) you're a steal!!! Come play with your buddy Dwight!
The Atlanta connection.
He got cut instead of traded which is the most surprising thing. You at least want to get something out of him if you don't want him. They fact that he got cut says a lot. I can definitely see him go to a place like Dallas, New York, or Sacramento coming off the bench. what about him going to houston
***** Houston is loaded with young talent at forward. No need to bring him in and mess with the chemistry of the team.
houston has d-mo and terrence jones at pf but jones plays poor defense so he may be able to help there but yea it would kind of mess things up there
lilmoe102 You know who's not young? Dwight. If they want to compete for a title with Dwight in his prime they can't wait for young guys to develop.
Evan Davis That's a good point
another nba player who cant handle his talent
He is under rated !!!! Give that guy some fame !!!!
Why did they trade him..
they didnt trade him -.-
He became a Free agent after his 4 year contract.
Oh ok i didnt know that.
Love you Josh 🙌🏽
DEEEEEEEEETROIT BASKETBALLLL!!!!!!!!!!!

Carmelo Anthony Anytime brother

I used to always try and get josh smith on my fantasy squads. He’s dope
best basketball player that ever lived
josh smith
Was a beast in NBA 2K.
holy shit. I knew he was athletic, but some of his plays from his younger years with the retro style Hawk jerseys were insane!
Josh Smith said he didnt want to go anywhere else but Detroit. Said he had offers and could have gone to houston but respected the Pistons history and saw a bright future there.
He deserves to be an all star next season!
I'm in Michigan. We are gonna be glad to have him.
these highlight are really good... wish he went to my team
Damn he is a left hander and dunks and finishes with his left making it hard for defenders to guard
Josh Smith AMAZING he is so underrated
Never seen anyone block shots like Josh!
Great top 10
Most... Underrated... Player... in the NBA.
Dont worry Josh all star will be your next year!
Finally jsmoove gets a top 10 boy letttsgoooooo

A great player, underrated
So Underrated...
He should be superstar...
That driving dunk on Lopez was nasty!
Josh deserve an All Star
Who’s here from the 520 podcast????
this guy is a beast
Welcome to Detroit! He will make the Pitons a much better team and a playoff contender along with the others they picked up this offseason.
In todays NBA he would be the perfect small ball center. He just fell in love with shooting 3s too much
the 6th play was sick!
Him and Drummond on the same team are gunna be a sick dunk combo
deserve to be an all star!
Max athleticism with crazy strength and a powerful build with a nose for weak side blocks but with Antoine Walker’s shot selection and shit-tastic defensive IQ.
But DAMN was he fun to watch
that's an understatement
This Guy was a Quad Double waiting to happen
One of the underrated player in the NBA
He has a pretty good mid range and can stretch to the three sometimes
He was a descent player for a while but I've been kind of disappointed on how he turned out. Imagine if he had a consistent jumper or a great handle, with that athleticism, he'd be amazing.
Its a great day to be a pistons fan!
I remember I was at the highlight factory & jsmoove gave me his headband couldnt believe it. go hawks
josh smith is a underatted ba ba beast
cant wait to see paul milsap bring THIS much energy next year.
I totally agree!!!!!! He'll fit perfectly. Lowry, DeRozan, Gay, J Smoove and Valenciuns!!!!!!!! that would be sick!!!
as a hawks fan i hated josh smith basketball IQ, but he was definitely exciting to watch.

those hawks teams from 2007-2011 were underated
these are some smoove moves
So underrated
Next season I want to see him dunk like his early years in the NBA, those days he was a fucking dunking beast
What a great dunker
The dunk on number 6 sounded vicious!!
Josh Smith deserves at least one All-Star Game
So glad we have the pleasure of having him in Houston now.
The number 6 sounded like a gun shot
Come to Houston J Smoove!!!! He would fit in pretty well IMO alongside D12 in the FrontCourt. WOW
