    Lived in Philly my whole life. But for some reason in the last 2 days I been watching AI highlights and stuff. Got so used to seeing my guy do this on a nightly bases I kind of lost sight of just how truly special he was.
    He had such a repeatable attack plan. Well for him it was repeatable. And at a huge cost of injury.
    But my guy had a shot out to 10' , nasty layup ball control, handles like crazy, and was a prolific passer. Although he never really had guys to pass it to. So the world really didn't get to see that.
    His style of play is one that I think would have transcended time.

    Easily my favourite basketball player of all time. For this guy to be barely even 6 foot he had to be super tough to get knocked around the way he did night in and night out by the monsters he played against was incredible. He didn't cry or bitch and moan like these girls do nowadays he just got up again and again night after night and showed everyone that if you're good enough at something then size doesn't get to stop u. Seems like a humble down to earth guy and I've heard things from people who've met him say he's an absolute gentleman and I believe every word of it. He was a dog in his day but so chill in his mature years now.

      Wingspan is more important than height, his wingspan is 6'3"-6'4". He was also the quickest player in the league, you can't do much about agility, or lateral movement. Or your vertical jump, which was definitely not a weakness for AI. Or body control in the air, AI is one of the greatest ever in that regard. You can't really train these that much. He was physically lucky in some aspects, to the point of being a freak of nature. And I always say that if you are a starter in the NBA, and can play with the level of intensity these guys play for 2 consecutive seasons without your body breaking down, you are a freak of nature. Even if you are an average looking gut like John Stockton. Some things are genetically determined. Nowadays people think they can just train to shoot like Curry. Yeah he trained so hard, but he is "neurally" superior in the first place, it helps his precision and release that takes more than just hard work. Physical advantage is not just height.

      Bryan Li No it's not because if Iverson had a 6'6 build he could still dominate with just shooting. Not to mention his driving ability skyrockets. Plus it opens up even more for his teammates. Keep in mind everything he brings to the table in terms of skillset

      @dave474c 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Isiah Thomas was better I'm afraid to say. Better passer and way better shooter. And by far a better floor general. Zeke was a true point guard.
      Iverson was good, but he was no Isiah Thomas.

    That 8th play is crazy,
    All the while mid-air going backwards looks behind him to pass the ball, then hears the foul whistle so, instead -still in mid-air - shoots and scores without looking. Insane reaction speed.

    This man was literally the reason I started working on my crossovers, and was a successful PG in Jr college. I didn't have height to be competitive at a higher level, but did Alright with what I had. Standing only 6FT on my "best day." His movie/documentary was pretty good if you guy's haven't seen it, I recommend it. Overcame a lot, and I hope the rumors of him being broke aren't true, since he worked so hard to get where he was. Nice upload.

    • @RoninDays
      @RoninDays 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pitbull82 OFC he's really broke bc these ppl don't get financial guidance when they need it. They spend their yearly salary like they'll keep making that yearly for the rest of their lives like idiots...on top of that, anyone from a shitty background is going to have a ton of leaches on their backs when they get paid when they should cut them off and transform into a real lifestyle that suits them!

    • @DomBrownONLINE

      Pitbull82 it was a really great doc. his really is broke but I think hes getting back on his feet with the magazine covers, appearances and now reebok is releasing his shoes again. lol I actually just bought a pair a month ago. I remember growing up everyone else wanted jordans I wanted iversons im a true fan and they are comfortable

    • @pitbull82
      @pitbull82 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      nakamine1713 Yeah, these young Pro athletes should all get financial advisors, preferably, former player's that have been in their unique position. I don't remember the exact numbers, but there's a high percentage in both the NBA and NFL of players going bankrupt, not long after leaving their leagues. Mega stars like Iverson, LeBron, Kobe, and the likes of them are even higher paid than the rest of the millionaire's, so that's a lot of temptation for them. I couldn't imagine being 19 with a 90M dollar Nike contract. (LeBron James.) I would have blown it all, no doubt.

    • @pitbull82
      @pitbull82 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dom Brown I seen that he's coming out with shoes again. I'm happy for him. I will support whatever he comes out with in the future, as much as I can. I did the same thing with the shoes, instead of Jordans, I'd buy his shoes. Hopefully he gets set financially, once again. He still has star power from the people who watched him play in his early career. Loyal fans.

    For those who had the opportunity to watch this man play will agree with me when i say he was hands down the best guard and the most entertaining guard i have ever seen. He had incredible skills and most of all he had the heart of a lion and he didnt care if your name was jordan, shaq or kobe, when he stepped on the court he was going to give you the business.
