Lyrics:
The little things I like about you
How you say when you say what you do
When your feeling is a little gold and blue
When your feeling is a little strung out
Everything we talk about
Living in the city is a crowded place
I still lose sight of every other face
Turn in your direction
Feeling like I need attention
Told you this once or twice
Won’t you hear?
I see you in the yard, drinking a beer
Leaving me undressed like some cheap
Classic movie
Maybe I’m a little obsessed
Maybe you do use me
One step behind you,
Following you down
I was inside of you
Kissing your mouth
You were inside of me
Kissing my mouth
Seein’ out that needle eye
Seein’ out that needle eye
Seein’ out that needle eye
The little things I like about you
How you say when you say what you do
When your feeling is a little gold and blue
When you’re feeling a little strung out
Everything we talk about
New York City is a crowded place
I still lose sight of every other face
One step behind you
Following you down
I was inside of you
Where are you now
Where are you?
no greater dopamine hit than a lil adrianne yell
try it with meth!
ok approved boi
Lots of positive energy
reminiscent of my dopamine hit of choice in high school: a lil sara quin scream
There’s not a band like them. It’s intimate and spacey, sonically rich and heart tugging. I love Big Thief!
If someone asked me to describe what makes this band special, I couldn't. I don't understand how they do what they do. I don't even know what genre this is.
Just pure beauty, that is all.
This particular songs is giving Stevie Nicks ~ I love it! Lenker is amazing
INTIMATE AND SPACEY WOWWWWWW that’s… what I came here to say except, ya know, less eloquently.
I haven't had a song grab me like this in years
Me neither. It makes me cry, nostalgic, sad, happy, inspired, all at once
I listen to a lot of different music. Rap, trap, rock, country, pop. This might be my favorite song of all time. I’m 35. I’ve listened to a lot of songs.
This song is like a confluence of two rivers, one fast, wild, crashing its banks, the other flowing gentle, languid and rhythmic. They meet, slowly consume each other and become something else entirely. ❤️
You fuckin nailed it my friend
You had to be smoking some good shit when you thought of this.
Admit it, you're a writer aren't you ?
Damn, you summed up perfectly. Thanks for giving us that
Great wording,, much respect
This makes me feel invincible
Joni Mitchell's "Hejira" via The Cure and shoegaze. I keep playing this song over and over. Watercolor running on a warm rainy day.
So they played most of this as a group in the same take, and they didn't have a set meter, they just went with it, and they all stayed in sync like that? That is nuts
"Describing ‘Little Things’, Krivchenia said: “It’s in this sort of evolving free time signature where the beat is always changing, so Max [Oleartchik, bassist] and I were just flowing with it and guessing where the downbeats were - which gives the groove a really cool light feeling.”
thanks for that quote. I was trying to count and could not work it out :)
Link please
i dont know why but the lines “one step behind you, following you down” always gets me
Song of the year, it's not even close. Big Thief continue to amaze.
True
I love how the guitar is "low" in the mix. Makes me pay attention to it even more. Great song to drive to.
San Diego to Los Angeles on repeat.
Those chords could loop forever and I wouldn’t complain, not once. Sending love from Australia
Tight. Not what I expected. Sending to the Wife
the entire album is amazing but i can't stop listening to this song. "maybe i'm a little obsessed."
Wall of sound. Unbelievable energy
The sound of beautiful spring flowers and longer days
I don't quite have the words. Equal parts furious and pained and uplifting. It's a hurricane. Swallows you whole. The album is great, but Little Things is on its own level.
this feels like the end of something, and the birth of something new
Perfectly said 💜
Incredible. I can’t help but hear the Fleetwood Mac influence, in the best way. They are a truly special band.
Little 80s flare
id say more like cocteau twins.
@@chrissirhc7337 Maybe a little Emmylou Harris?
Its like if Fleetwood mac discovered shoegaze but didn't become a shoegaze band
There stuff gives me radiohead (early stuff), the cranberries, beach house, slowdive in a way, and Kate wolf just to name a folk artist. Obsessed with their sound rn, I can’t get a full grasp on it, but that’s what I love about them, nothing sound quite like it :)
💜 Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You.. What an Album!
Thank you Big Thief. These are so very close to the best.
Everything about this is divine.
New music from Big Thief is no little thing. Sublime. Again. Love and respect.
this sound is like it was pulled out of a fading memory that has been distorted like a distant dream. It s a song i want to tie with a very unique moment so that when i get old ill be crying like a babe listening to this
Never really listened to Big Thief before but my daughter wanted to go to their concert last night and we were right on the barricade in a packed venue and HOLY CRAP! That was a great concert. Hats off to this band, I’m a fan.
Lovely comment but I read that "HOLY CRAP" in Peter Griffin's voice
That scream scared the shit out of me lol fantastic song!
I didn’t know I needed this in my life until my boss played it at work. I think I listened to it ten times in a row.
Hell of a boss, tbf.
this song is fucking incredible. wow.
Goddamn this is good. Love the textures to this, ever-shifting. Love the parallel of a sound you can never quite pin down to the lyrics describing not being able to keep sight of individual faces in New York's crowds (and not being able to find the song's subject). Big Thief never misses!
The lyrics are incredible
are yes. the lyrics are so good.
Adrienne herself is the poetess behind this. May the eternity bless her soul!
The lyrics are bible based.
The guitars are helping me cope with my country going into another lockdown.
Horrifying equivalency. Whatever country this is shouldn’t exist.
@@intheband002 Australia's pretty nice.
@@josephcorridon9314 It certainly is. More reason not to ruin it.
This is a masterpiece! That is all.
This illustration is so adorable!
I love Buck's playing in this one
how do you recognize what buck's playing? (If he's actually playing on this one)
@@Nimlothful I am assuming he is playing lead guitar, per usual.
@@Goaterd I thought so too but if you take "Not" from their last album, Adrienne's playing the lead solo at the end
Bro, this is his style and theres no real solo. He love to play this little weird lines and licks
@@Nimlothful It's obvious if you're familiar with his playing.
Those breathy ad-libs at 2:37 are amazing
When she says "gold and blue" I'm choosing to think of that as a reference to The Dress everyone was debating back in 2015
Hahaha
Reminds me of Ride a little bit. I love this direction for Big Thief
Dying to see a live performance of this
Saw them at primavera in Barcelona and in NYC…chills for the whole set but pure euphoria during this song. I rlly hope you get the chance🙏
this is the exact moment of my life for this song. thank you for this medicine
Dare I say...a folk-y Cocteau Twins vibe? The textures on this track are unreal.
Nailed that description. If the Cocteau Twins’ “Iceblink Luck” and The War on Drugs’ “Eyes to the Wind” had a musical baby, this song would be it.
With a bit of Kate Bush - Hounds Of Love era.
kinda reminds me of fotzepolitic for some reason i cant pin down yet
Actually, I was thinking of CT as I listened to this.
Perfect .;. My head exactly. If you don't mind, I say so too!👍🏼😳✌🏼
maybe I'm a little obsessed
This song might be a GOAT
IT MAKES ME CRY, IT MAKES ME SMILE...
Big Thief is a treasure to behold!
Great song! This reminds me U2 - Elvis Presley and America
They have MAGIC.
What a great sound. You really are all evolving in the most beautiful and exciting way.
they are always reinventing their sound and it is always so brilliant.
Annnnnd I'm a fan now. This is fantastic.
the moving picture really tripped me out for a second
This band is as good as everyone says they are. They live up to the hype. I'm kind of late to the party, but man...this is great stuff.
The guitar has that like cassette tape warble
thats it !!! thats what it is , like when you hear it from upstairs and its playing downstairs , the reverb bouncing all around the hallway , but its that compressed crunchy sound you get with old cassette tapes .
Probably some tape delay on it. Good ears, man!
godddd i just found out about this band and i keep finding such good songs. This sounds so sparkly. Ngl this song already made me cry though lol
The tune and melody has changed again. Nice!
best song on the album
this was actually the the number one song of the year pitchfork!
sometimes there are beautiful things out there
I have no words. Amazing.
Indeed. Words are limiting approximations in general.
that;s a beauty...
this so raw, so authentic, so beautiful, thank you for this from bottom of my heart
This song gets me in my feelings. It’s all at once.
This is one of the best songs i have ever heard. I am 30.
I had to put down my kebab and log on to comment - just beautiful. Guitars into my vein. What have I stumbled across? Thanks UK.'s Radio 6. for bringing yet another great group to my attention - ('No reason').
This is SO NEEDED!!!
Hearing this i'm absolutely blown by it's emotional density.
it's like a never ending stream of healing pain.
Weirdly, in that way, it reminds me of Pat Metheny's «Two Folk Songs»...
Really beautiful how Big Thief expand their sound in many directions on the new album.
❤️🌳❤️
beautiful, beautiful, beautiful 🧡
I thought I heard something new from Kate Bush!! I love Kate and yay discovered something new, to me anyway that I like a lot!!! Nice!! I'm glad I had my radio on 105.5 in Colorado!!!! Really looking forward to checking out more!! Peace.
Been listening to the new trio of songs every day for a week and they keep getting better. Genius!
This song is a masterpiece. Completely stunned.
2:22 has me ascending
We all know those people (usually over 30) who say there's no more good new music...Just play them this shit and then watch them stare in amazement with jaw agape
What are some other good new music and bands pls
You guys just keep spinning gold
Yet another Eclectic and Nostalgic piece of art from these beautiful people! Made my day.
Heard this song in my dream last night
best song this year
This song is utter perfection. Every millisecond of it.
love the pedal that runs thru this one
faaaaaaaaaaaaav song ever!!!!!!!!!!
this has it... that, I'm alive feeling.
Just found this song and now I'm in love with the band
Year after year, you never disappoint me. Thank you.
@Big Thief, you've stolen my heart. ❤️
The outro. My god. Amazing.
Love the Frusciante/Niandra Lades-esque guitar
fucking great playing right here
such a triumphant song
"Leaving me undressed like some cheap
/Classic movie
/Maybe I’m a little obsessed
/Maybe you do use me
"
Hits me hard for some reason.
Vibes right? Been there once before..
Ikrr reminds me of my ex
Bester Song ihrer Karriere. Auf einem im übrigen keineswegs makellosen Album. Dieser Fiddel-Kram, oh boy
Loving the Cocteau sound x
How beautiful interesting music song. I love
Please come to Atlanta. Love all your unique beautiful sounds and styles. Just a wild ride of emotions and imagery in every song. Your dedication to your craft is what will make you a huge success. Thank you for making this music.
So so gorgeous, I love it, new big thief is exactly what I needed, thank you
I didn’t expect this almost jangle pop direction!
such a feel good song🥰🥰🥰
Art needs new hero's
Keep on moving forward
I really love that you never stop changing
I saw them in concert 2 years ago. Amazing. I look forward to seeing them again next winter in Europe and hear this song in live !!!
this almost sounds like cocteau twins wtf!! i love it sm
