True enough, that. I mean, the Disney-produced trilogy employed the plot device of Luke's renegade nephew going to war against the New Republic! And a reference to Darth Andeddu, in the CGI cartoon, has indirectly made the so-called "God King of Prakith" canonical. So, I see no reason to jump to the conclusion that Revan, Malgus, Bane and other Darths prior to Sidious.are permanently erased from the history of the GFFA.
All the so called discrepancies can be explained as stories becoming legends and often details and dates get confused not any different than in real life as the ancient past becomes further and further distant. Especially in such a vast galaxy stories like the origin of the Jedi, wars and conflicts can easily be told differently on different worlds Especially as the Jedi try to soften their role in the creation of the Sith, or the Empire try to bury any memory if the Jedi leaving the history as mythological stories passed on orally on the edges of the galaxy.
I think the "Once more the sith will rule the galaxy" within the context of legends refers to the Republic dark age druing new the sith wars. During the mellenia long period of war there was a time when the sith controlled most of the galaxy, and the Republic only consisted of a few star stystems in the colonies and the core worlds.

It should be noted that the core events and names of the old ‘Tales of the Jedi’ comics are still canon or at least in canon legends. Plus the reason for the long series of conflicts between the ancient Sith and Jedi as fallout from the Second Schism in Legends can be attributed to Lucas who either couldn’t keep things straight in his head or was just coming up with more reasons for the EU writers to write stories and make money for Lucasfilm. Because he had originally said that it took place in 7,000 bby, but then he changed his mind to 5,000 bby, then 4,000 bby (which is why the basics of this are still canon). But then for the prequels he changed his mind again, it was between 2,000 and 1,000 bby, and it has always been that way. So both Legends and writers for the new canon had to retcon all of that into a coherent continuity, which wasn’t Lucas’ strong suit. And this is true in both canon and Legends; The Second Schism: 7,000 bby The Hundred Year Darkness. Starting with a conflict with a group of dark Jedi. The defeated dark Jedi were exiled to the Unknown Regions and landed on the home world of the Sith and founded the Sith Order. 5,000 bby The Great Hyperspace War. This happened when the Republic and Jedi first came into with the Sith Empire. Which turned into a war led on the Sith side by Naga Shadow. When Sadow was defeated, he fled to Yavin 4 with his Massassi who built the Temples that we see in the movies. The Kron Nebula was formed and Ossus was devastated. 4,000 bby The Great Sith War. Where we have Exar Kun and Ulic Qel-Droma, former Jedi turned to the Darkside, allied with the Mandalorians to start a war with Republic and the Jedi Order. Years later Darth Revan became an infamous Sith Lord. There are a few more details, but this is the basics of it. In case the ‘Legends’ label didn’t make it clear enough. It’s fair to say, that we can apply this to the rest of the pre-movie era Legends EU. The basic big details are true, but the stories and minor details are legends… until Lucasfilm clarifies it with a new story. In my mind only the Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy are true retellings from the Book of the Whills. With the Clone Wars being the next clearest account. Everything else are stories based on partial information and notes that Lucas found in an old droid data processor that came here a long long time ago from a galaxy far far away. And so both the Legends EU and the new canon with its own new EU are just alternate universes of might have happened, based on that partial information and notes made by Lucas.
I think a mix of both would be very interesting include in all the favorite sith in legends but also create new lore with a point in time the sith ruled with 5000 years unaccounted for its possible to do it even if some timelines need to change
The concept I am referring to is the Sith Temple underneath the Jedi Temple that drained the Jedi's strength. Tales of the Jedi could show us a Jedi who knew, visited and attempted to purify it. With each of 3 episodes, they could show the effect of Sith temple on both him or her and the other Jedi, over the course of this particular Jedi's entire life. I am not referring to the Sith Wars. They would need to at a least series or a trilogy for that, and who knows how that would turn out.

You can do it both ways, because it is impossible that the Jedi would remember their history correctly, it would make this dichotomy, like in Rashomon, there you tell the same story many times from many perspectives, like the Gospels, and the reader much choose, what he feels is the truth and all those different ways impacting different characters who choose different sides for different reasons. It would give the Jedi saying "This is just your truth, form a certain point of view!" a new sinister meaning.

Yep, the Force Well was a plot point in the New Jedi Order books after the Yuuzhan Vong invaded Coruscant. Curiously, it wasn't a Dark Side Nexus, or at least didn't appear to be one when Lord Nyax was trying to access it. It was described as a source of pure power, neither Light nor Dark, which boosted Luke, Mara, and Tahiri the same way it did Nyax when it was opened, though Luke still opined that the Jedi had been protecting the planet from it. Nyax was killed there by a Yuuzhan Vong capital ship after Tahiri had wounded him, and according to Luke, Nyax imbued the area with his killing intent as he died, which presumably corrupted the Force Well into a Dark Side Nexus. In the next book, Vergere lures the escaped captive Jacen Solo into an ambush there and restores his access to the Force. He flies into a killing rage and unleashes Force Lightning against Vergere and the Yuuzhan Vong. He later laments falling under the control of the Dark Side, but Vergere insists that the Jedi would never have built their Great Temple atop a Dark Side Nexus and what Jacen felt was the wild, unrestrained Force, which provided fuel for his own true desire. Given Vergere's status as a lying liar that lies, it's hard to tell if she was being deliberately deceptive in that case or if she was genuinely wrong in thinking the Force Well was still neutral.
I once heard on another SW channel someone propose that the very best of the best of the Jedi just go down tot he Sith Shrine and meditate at it in an attempt to turn it into a nexus of light. And I mean a lot of Jedi do it.
They should bring back the un named dark je'dai of old . Say they were in stasis or something. Or even a sith pure blood that was locked away somehow because..the force.
The Jedi building their temple on the remains of a Sith Temp was arguably one of their dumbest mistakes. The hubris! Nothing bad could Possibly happen there eh? 🤣🤣
It's easy to enjoy legends content regarding the sith and their conflict with the Jedi. There's been a ton of it over several decades, and people have grown to enjoy it. In that vein, legends had the benefit of being much more open and accepting of a wider array of writers, whereas canon was much more closely guarded and guided. The canon approach is only as viable as the current guides for it are attentive. The canon approach to Sith has always been very limited compared to the Jedi, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The Jedi started out as very mysterious and mystical entities in the original trilogy, and the Sith were the same but bad guys. As more canon content regarding the Jedi has been released, the drought of Sith content has become much more noticeable. It's unfortunate, but Disney probably won't feel inclined to explore the Sith to a degree that would enrich their position as the opposition to Jedi.
If Disney had not wrecked the franchise, someone could have gone back and produced a history of the Sith from Bane to the rise of Sidious. It could have been 4 - 6 movies.
Someone has to step up and make a dark movie on the Sith. Why not, it will be so interesting and fill in many gaps to give us more depth of how deep this rabbit hole of a universe our Starwars passion really is.
This would actually make a lot of sense... That the darkness from below would be the cause of the corruption of some of the Jedi students/masters being on Coruscant. Sort of like "the call is coming from within the house" type of thing and the jedi more inclined to fall would hear its whispers louder than others. Slowly eating away at them. The Acolyte show will be a more Sith focused tale and I just hope they do it right and leave all sorts of woke as far away from it as possible. There is nothing woke about Siths and their culture. It is kill or be killed, survival of the fittest. But we'll see, it is all up to the writing which I hope is on point. It can be about a Jedi Droids fall to the Dark side for all that I care if the writing is good...
It would have been interesting to delve into the real historical parallels to the idea of one religion building on top of another. This has occurred over and over in human history, obviously serving as inspiration for the fictional concept.
Man Kathleen Kennedy really did some Exar Kun stuff. Shes got all of the disney board under mind control..Where's the jedi when you need them? Maybe she can be brought back to the lightside....
idk what kind of dirt she has on the Disney executives but star wars because a lot of people at lucasfilm have left/fired but she still remains. I guess if the Acolyte series bombs and the new Rey movie ends up like the marvels then she might be fired
It is an interesting concept that in a way the Light was build on the top of Darkness, but it robs the story of the metaphysical. Firstly, it kind off changes the idea that the Light and the Dark are equal opposite forces, it makes Darkness the origin. It sounds a bit like Coruscant was built on Dromund Kaas. Secondly, the Force doesn't need a physical Dark Side Nexus to influence the Jedi. The higher planes should be causal, not the physical structure and there should me more emphasis on personal choices, not on being influenced by physical Sith Temple radio-waves and algorithm. It is still interesting thou and is a food for thought.
So if the Clone Wars episode had happened then Ahsoka would have gone down and discovered the Sith Shrine, wouldn't that change everything since she would have told the Jedi council? since it seems by the time of the Clone Wars the Jedi forgot about the shrine
I don't think so the Jedi were so arrogant they couldn't see their own hand in front of their face at that time the fools the sith will rule the galaxy
I so badly want to watch these videos and get into this again, but I simply can’t get past all the rewriting and cherry picking of Star Wars history. It’s just exhausting now. If Lucas had a problem with something 20-30 years ago, he should have put his foot down back then when he actually had control.
Since Star Wars came out George always licensed out the IP and never really cared what people did because he didn't consider it real Star Wars. This happened to the original 1977 Star Wars marvel comic. George never really had any input. It wasn't until the 90s when the Thrawn books and later Reborn Emperor Palpatine came out that he got into it because he found out Palpatine had been resurrected and that is something he would have never done. After that all the new EU stuff had to be approved by him. Soon after we had Tales of the Jedi made which greatly expanded the old Sith and their origins. Even still George didn't consider it canon but it still made him a ton of money before the prequels came out.
Now you say this "Once more the Sith shall rule the galaxy..." how I never paid attention to this sentence ? 🤣It is not mention, as far as I remember, even once in the novel Darth Plagueis...
@@TheStupendousWave Yes I remmeber it quiet well in the movie, but I don't recall any other mention of this previous ruling of the Sith anywhere else, including during Sidious training (that's why I mentioned Darth Plagueis novel) 🤔
Honestly in a way I find this more interesting! The thought of the Sith actually Wining and casting out the Jedi but the Jedi returns and defeats them so they go into hiding for 1000 years to Finally return and take control again seems very poetic!. I do think they should add some things like maybe the Sith try to return again but they’re weaker then before so Multiple Sith vs Jedi wars still happen. But the main Sith Vs Jedi war is a war the Sith win.
This is very impressive. So the Sith won 100 Year Darkness? This is interesting. They ruled and Jedi rebelled and freed the galaxy. Sith never completely conquered the galaxy. I like this new history. I like George Lucas thoughts. Interesting timeline and history. May the Force be with you too

@@chiquita683 I already own them and love them thanx bc its actually great unlike anything from disney it is great advice for any sw fan and theory has gone back to basics as well with the lore and comics
So ied like to see a galaxy ran by the Sith if only to see a larger view of the Sith, one of the reasons I like the SWTOR mmo is that we get the opportunity to see light side Sith and dark side Jedi after all its not a binary thing there is a whole Spectrum of different shades in there and of course there is an extremely fine line that’s a balancing point between both light and dark. Also for the most part we have only seen one type of Sith when there are so meny ideas and approaches case in point how I play my Sith in SWTOR she is still very much in it for her own good and for power but she dose it in a far more gentle way, getting her minions to love her, someone willing to throw their life’s away out of love is far more useful a tool that someone only doing it out of fear, the fearful will run away the first change they get but if they worship you they will fight on to the bitter end, she also looks after her tools as a craftsman wants to keep their tools in good condition so they work better, what good is a broken tool? But if the softly softly approach doesn’t work then she will go full on Vader rage mode on you.
A mix would most likely lead to confusion and fan back lash George L. holds the ultimate authority i think he should choose the path and before he passes into the light(the force) he should empower a new head with the closet vision to his. cheers
What if the star wars legends is just stories that the people in the universe started to tell and the jedi not letting anyone know that they actually lost to the sith because as time goes know little to no more people can actually say what happened during the time so I believe that it's the jedi putting themselves in the good light to cover up their shame
So much star wars legend but instead go with made up Rey... either they want to do something new or made just as much as reliving the past as every other studio does
Well, I sure hope Dave Filoni and his team of collaborators find a way to include this unused Clone Wars story of The Sith Shrine in the secret passage of The Jedi Temple...perhaps within a special hour-long chapter of Tales Of The Jedi, The Bad Batch, a brand new miniseries, or a significant one-off Animated special short film. I wonder what happened to all of those especially evil artifacts of The Sith and Dark Side Alchemy? When Palpatine took over the galaxy, did he take possession of all of them, and where did he hide them? Again, this is where The Prophets Of The Dark Side and The Acolytes Of The Beyond become significant (and dangerous) in the period after the defeat of The Empire. Yes, I would love to see a combo of EU canon and George Lucas' existent materials mapping out his concept for the history between The Jedi and The Sith, over the millennia... May The Force Be With You, Good Sir.
So if you take sith artifacts and dump them into a sun that should do the job. Hopefully Disney execs keep their greedy paws off of Star Wars as much as possible and not ruin it all like other franchises.

If memory serves, there was a major Dar Side Nexus under the Jedi Temple in Legends too. I dont remember all the lore behind it, but it was there.
1:51 Is that a Klingon on the far right, with the gold armor?
Korriban>Moraband>Moribund wow can’t believe it took me this long to figure it out I’m dense
That would be cool if they showed the Sith shrine in a future show 🤞
I absolutely love the way the Jedi temple is build over a with one lmao 😂 it’s great really Palp is getting his ancestral home back
I don't like how the New Cannon has basically ignored almost all of the EU cannon.
I once heard on another SW channel someone propose that the very best of the best of the Jedi just go down tot he Sith Shrine and meditate at it in an attempt to turn it into a nexus of light. And I mean a lot of Jedi do it.
We need a good Old Republic RPG, it is like Lucasfilm has a gold mine but they just don't want to use it 🤬
Legends, don't trust Disney much after everything they've done.
They should bring back the un named dark je'dai of old
She has never even heard of the light.
idk what kind of dirt she has on the Disney executives but star wars because a lot of people at lucasfilm have left/fired but she still remains. I guess if the Acolyte series bombs and the new Rey movie ends up like the marvels then she might be fired
Honestly, though, can anyone really rule and control a galaxy? Too many planets and points of view.
But if they build them on top it’s to see if there Padawan would fall to darkness or able find there way back to there master
empress acina seems to be the most competent sith ruler so far, maybe she is the one who wins the war.
I find it absolutely OFFENSIVE that their Darkshe Light Sabre are in a Crucifix model. Darkness is evil not light.
Perhaps it wasn't the Sith who came from the Jedi, but the other way around?
Now you say this "Once more the Sith shall rule the galaxy..." how I never paid attention to this sentence ? 🤣It is not mention, as far as I remember, even once in the novel Darth Plagueis...
Palpatine says it in Revenge of the Sith, novel and film.
@@TheStupendousWave Yes I remmeber it quiet well in the movie, but I don't recall any other mention of this previous ruling of the Sith anywhere else, including during Sidious training (that's why I mentioned Darth Plagueis novel) 🤔
You should make a video about the known Sith temples across the galaxy in Legends and Canon
Would you not say that when palpatine was emperor was when the sith ruled the galaxy?
This is very impressive. So the Sith won 100 Year Darkness? This is interesting. They ruled and Jedi rebelled and freed the galaxy. Sith never completely conquered the galaxy. I like this new history. I like George Lucas thoughts. Interesting timeline and history. May the Force be with you too
I really want to see the ancient sith lords in future of star wars let's we them in acolyte series
You want Disney to ruin it
That show is gonna be cw star wars lol not a lick of hope there from Harvey's personnal assistant
@@brimstonewinpete9306Who is Harvey?
You better read a book and use your imagination, thats the only way you'll see it under Disney. This channel is literally the only thing keeping Star Wars alive by going through the great history as it was
@@chiquita683 I already own them and love them thanx bc its actually great unlike anything from disney it is great advice for any sw fan and theory has gone back to basics as well with the lore and comics
You want filoni to ruin the old republic
@@alsimmonshellspawn6021 Filoni did put the Selkath in The Clone Wars and I think that was the only thing from KOTOR to make it to canon so far.
there is a lot more than 5k years left in the timeline. a lot more.
The cold war ur talking about is what sideous is this talking about when the sith ruled the Galaxy
The missing Clone Wars episodes.... Thats good news
💀
thank you for preventing someone from saying first
no problem
It strikes me that both the sith and jedi have a very very flawed understanding of "interconnectness"
#alanwatts
Legands is canon thats been proven time and time agian
Legends is the true canon. Disney is a joke.
Oh
Day 325 of asking for a part 3 of what if anakin was trained by qui gon
Spoiler alert: it was a dark deuce. A turd so stinky it drives jedi mad.
So if you take sith artifacts and dump them into a sun that should do the job.
Hopefully Disney execs keep their greedy paws off of Star Wars as much as possible and not ruin it all like other franchises.
Of course sideous went down there the imperial Palace was the old Jedi Temple the last f*** you to the Jedi it was great
Almost every comment here just bashes Disney or some other part of SW...it's a friggin fantasy story, grow up or let it go. It was never going to make everyone happy.
Hi guys a dragon ball fan I enjoy both franchises alot. Listen please do not play into the whole "cannon" thing it's dumb and all it leads to are arguments. Something we db fans do alot 😂😂
The worst Fandom I've witnessed is Legend of Zelda fans over timeline placement of the games. Nintendo only poured rocket fuel on to the dumpster fire argument with an official timeline.
Also forgot this but apparently Death battle is doing a third goku vs superman because the Dragon Ball community saw goku got another transformation recently. It airs today if you're interested.
I think this is some fake Disney Folini KK bullshit. I refuse to call this fake coffee girl feminist "Canon". I really like your videos on Real Star Wars. But find your coverage of fake corporate coffee girl simplistic star wars as beneath you.
George Lucas James Luciano and Timothy zahn that's Canon
Disney Star Wars isn’t Canon
Disney Star Wars said you aren't canon.
Legends is Cannon. Screw Woke Disney's weak sauce "cannon"
*Canon. Cannon is something else
"revealed" you mean made up by Disney. its not canon, Disney cannot write anything on par with what George has created
Legends all the way and is the original canon . The new " Canon" is trash
Elon musk needs to buy disney already
Legends is Cannon anything else is a bastardized version and it's garbage teach your children right
You take too long to get to the point , too much talk !!
This also where the lore thick Lucas Star Wars with even the contradictory histories and mind blowing stories greatly improve the whole series… (Lucas Canon & Legends will always be Star Wars)
…while the Disney/WOKE/Kathleen Kennedy very weak - um, pathetic sh*t has no foundation to build upon. A failure more drastic than the even the Sith would have never made.
Disney canon is garbage. So, ignore it.
