Well I guess we know why they call him "Legs" (if I heard that correctly) now. Can't wait to see more of this, ODSTs have always been my favorite branch of the UNSC ever since their introduction in Halo 2 and I feel like we don't get enough of them.

Fricking phenomenal. I watched this on my phone and it still had me on the edge of my seat. I pray one day you'll have the budget and team to make your art into films.
I loved the faint humming to the tune of "Blood on the Risers/Gory Gory What a Helluva Way to Die" right at the beginning as a throwback to the OG paratroopers.
Ngl every time I see something ODST related it’s always a calm wait in the drop pod and then sudden chaos, literally the definition of “0-100 real quick” that’s for sure
I love that you had him humming Blood on the Risers. The lyrics of that song saying "He ain't gonna jump no more", and the fact he's humming that just before this awful event is so perfect and brutally accurate.
That was shapeshifter the talented voice actor who did those lines. He sent them to me and I was like “damn that’s an excellent choice to put in, I wanted the odst doing something but didn’t know what and shapeshifter delivered :)

This was outstanding. The back and forth before keying into comms with the other ODSTs to stir them up, the frenetic movement of the dogfighting, the handle grab and break... then freefall. Don't even get me started on the one Trooper's pods literally cooking them as it's heat ablative panels fail. Such attention to detail and working in nuanced bits of the ODST experience in such a short span of time. This is a masterpiece, and a masterful display of Helljumpers like we haven't seen since Halo 3: ODST and I love every second of it!
Love when a creator makes the ending very dark and just real to grasp how disappointing and unforgiving the cruel world is. Halo should be very dark and unforgiving, but it's never truly felt like that except in cinematics or certain campaign mission (which are honestly only in Halo CE, H2, ODST and Reach).
Now, it IS possible that ODST survived, since he hit trees from not all too high an altitude. But yeah. If that was the end right there, I wouldn't even be mad
@@ThehandleSigmawasstolenfromme Highly unlikely, he was already falling at high velocity, he'd have to bleed off speed to reach terminal velocity, and he fell for about twenty seconds. @@WB1813 This trooper's survival is unlikely, but there is always the small chance that he somehow survived if he landed on something at an angle and/or the snow could've cushioned it somewhat, or just anything to break his fall for that matter. He has a much better chance of surviving the fall. He probably won't be walking away from it, yeah, but he has a pretty good chance of not dying. As for the actual distance from his pod that he fell, I would give maybe a thousand, thousand five hundred. Still fucking nuts and he will probably have several broken limbs, among other things. this gave me chills. this is so well done and beautiful that its hard to even think of it as a fan made project. i would very much love to see a full length movie following these troopers because so far it has more heart and soul put into it than the damn halo tv series does and this is merely a 3 minute fan project. as a die hard halo fan and as a person who is trying to write and make my own halo game, i salute you for the wonderful video you have blessed us with.
i mentioned that i was wanting to make my own halo game, and just so its not misinterpreted by what i mean, its only relevant because the game centers around a group of ODST's (their group are referred to as hell knights) as they are fighting against the insurrection all around the outer colonies. no Spartans, no flood, and no covenant are planned to be involved at any point in the story i have planned thus far. its simply focusing on the war against the insurrection and the growing threat they pose to the UNSC (ONI more specifically) as the UNCS/Covenant war rages on. i have many ideas planned and wrote down but am currently facing writers block for how i want to line up the story and where i want it to go but after seeing this it gives me a few ideas of some conflicts that might make the game more engaging. my friend who has been helping me with writing it all has decided to abandon it and gets mad/noticeably frustrated whenever i bring it up so i have nobody to talk to about it or bounce ideas off of thus the writers block. im even attempting to learn UE5 and blender so i can try to make a few samples but i work two jobs (6 days a week) and i can barely find time to practice either program. so like said seeing a literal masterpiece like this gives me some inspiration to not give up and to keep pushing forward, kinda like the ODST's themselves.
Goddamn, this is INCREDIBLE. The extremely inspiring speech before the drop compared to the sheer chaos and torment of an actual drop where you're just an ODST against the entirety of the banished, you painted it PERFECTLY.
The more terrifying thing is to think of the fact that he could be alive without his equipment injured possibly.... Probably.... In the middle of a combat drop in hot zone
Seeing that drop pod on fire gave me chills !!! It reminds me of the scene in The Flood when it describes the ODSTS dropping from the Pillar of Autumn Great work man keep it up!!

Then it all goes to shit in an instant after the incoming fire starts hitting all around them. So many instances of this in real life and you managed to make it super realistic in an animation about a video game. Such an amazing job.
I’ve always been a massive fan of ODSTs and wish there was more media about them. This short film sooo scratches that itch and leaves me wanting more! Amazing work, can’t wait to see what you do next!
These 2 minutes and 45 seconds were more entertaining than the "Halo" tv show.
Hard to believe this video didn't need 10 million dollars to make. This is what Halo is.
@@Sanya6496 Ooo-rah!
@@Mate397 I literally said that with the vid man it's awesome.
Haven't had a fan animation give me chills for a really long time now! Oustanding job, going to donate to your patreon, keep up the good work! wish 343 would notice this and take some notes
Woah. I got literal chills from this
Amazing, gave me Saving Private Ryan vibes when he was free falling and watching the carnage in the air around him.
Omg!?! Love every second! I really love the style of the odst Helmet you did with it! I swear it look more sharp and sleek and not bubbly!!
OMG, this 2:45 mins are far better than one Paramount+ season, keep up the good work dude :)
We're lucky as a community to have a person like you, seriously amazing work.
A halo movie with these darkness and realism would be fantastic, maybe some day you direct one! you have the skills, again...amazing
This is the goods
I really like how you managed to show and feel the disorientation that being flung from a drop pod would cause not knowing what way was up while still falling to dirt
Its actually insane how good this is, please do follow ups of when the ODSTs are on the ground. Your High Charity videos were so good i would love to see more of this ODST mission. Keep up the good work, youre an artist
Live the “gory gory what a hell of a way to die” at the beginning. Instantly set the tone. Instantly. 10/10.
This would be a perfect introduction for an ODST campaign expansion. Amazing work !
I got goosebumps when they yelled “HOO RAH!” Amazing attention to detail btw, I loved how you included the same beeping sound they used in the game when they launched their pods
that was a hell of an experience
Hearing the agony in the screams as the pod burned up was chilling. 1000/10 would watch again
Had me feeling like I was there! This is incredible work Fr
“We are Helljumpers, and Hell is our domain!” God I fucken love that line.
I've been looking forward to this
this gave me chills. this is so well done and beautiful that its hard to even think of it as a fan made project. i would very much love to see a full length movie following these troopers because so far it has more heart and soul put into it than the damn halo tv series does and this is merely a 3 minute fan project. as a die hard halo fan and as a person who is trying to write and make my own halo game, i salute you for the wonderful video you have blessed us with.
i mentioned that i was wanting to make my own halo game, and just so its not misinterpreted by what i mean, its only relevant because the game centers around a group of ODST's (their group are referred to as hell knights) as they are fighting against the insurrection all around the outer colonies. no Spartans, no flood, and no covenant are planned to be involved at any point in the story i have planned thus far. its simply focusing on the war against the insurrection and the growing threat they pose to the UNSC (ONI more specifically) as the UNCS/Covenant war rages on. i have many ideas planned and wrote down but am currently facing writers block for how i want to line up the story and where i want it to go but after seeing this it gives me a few ideas of some conflicts that might make the game more engaging. my friend who has been helping me with writing it all has decided to abandon it and gets mad/noticeably frustrated whenever i bring it up so i have nobody to talk to about it or bounce ideas off of thus the writers block. im even attempting to learn UE5 and blender so i can try to make a few samples but i work two jobs (6 days a week) and i can barely find time to practice either program. so like said seeing a literal masterpiece like this gives me some inspiration to not give up and to keep pushing forward, kinda like the ODST's themselves.
Goddamn, this is INCREDIBLE. The extremely inspiring speech before the drop compared to the sheer chaos and torment of an actual drop where you're just an ODST against the entirety of the banished, you painted it PERFECTLY.
Just watching the pod break open was horrifying.
I really hope legs survived that free fall
Amazing work on this animation.
The more terrifying thing is to think of the fact that he could be alive without his equipment injured possibly.... Probably.... In the middle of a combat drop in hot zone
In the middle of a combat zone, Literal hell.
I love the juxtaposition between the blood-rushing speech given at the beginning and the cold brutal reality of war.
“He hit the ground, the sound was splat, his blood went spurting high…
His comrades they were hurt to say, a hell of a way to die…”
Astronomical Dude! Everything from the models, texturing, lighting, atmosphere, sound design etc... was beautifully executed! Great stuff!
That drop pod caught on fire it become helldiver ! 😮
Seeing that drop pod on fire gave me chills !!!
It reminds me of the scene in The Flood when it describes the ODSTS dropping from the Pillar of Autumn
Great work man keep it up!!
Hopefully bungie/343 watches this. This is gold, this is how to get your fans hyped
Bruh I know I said on patreon but rewatching it again this is phenomenal the burning drop pod with the intense breathing and looking around was A1
This animation alone shows the seriousness of the halo universe....
Need more of this lol
This was amazing!!! I expecially love the classic "boop boop boop boooop" noise when the pod drops!
This was insanely well excecuted. Great job!
Dude, you always knock this shit out of the park. This is next level, and I want to play a game that opens exactly like this.
Only 600 views? This was one of the best cinematics I’ve ever seen! We need to get it up!
Oh it will reach 1 million 🤞🏼
