How to quickly and reliably repair any damage to tiles at home yourself. In this video, I will teach you how to easily restore a small tile chip on the kitchen floor. For this, I will use a special set for local restoration and repair of ceramic surfaces. Such sets consist of fillers (hard ceramic waxes of various colors) and auxiliary tools (soldering iron, plastic spatula with teeth, varnish, sponges for final grinding and matting of the surface, etc.). With the help of these materials, you can repair small chips, cracks, dents, holes on tiles, ceramics, stone, marble, etc. In this case, a heavy metal object fell on the tile and chipped it. The task was to carefully repair this damage without dismantling the entire tile. Local restoration was successfully completed. I am very satisfied with the result.👍🙂
Work process:
First, it is necessary to remove the remains of the tile and dirt from the damage. Clean and degrease the surface with a solvent or alcohol. To fill the damage, I use a special hard wax for ceramics. I heat the wax with a soldering iron and apply it to the damage while still hot. To obtain the desired shade, it is necessary to mix several colors of wax with a soldering iron. So you will be able to choose the desired shade as perfectly as possible. We apply the wax with a slight excess. After cooling, the wax hardens and becomes very strong. Cooling time is 1-2 minutes. You can also put a metal object to the wax to quickly remove the temperature and cool it for further work. Next, we use a plastic spatula with teeth to cut off the excess filled wax. In this way, we level the surface. If you don't have a spatula, you can use sandpaper (but sandpaper can scratch the surrounding surface, be careful). If the general pattern of the tile has a certain structure (texture), then with the help of a soldering iron and a different color of wax, you can reproduce this structure in order to mask the place of restoration on the surface as best as possible (here you will need a little creativity and imagination). For durability and reliability of the repair, the restored surface can be covered with a transparent protective varnish. You can use varnish in an aerosol or in a marker with a brush. Choose the gloss of the varnish to match the gloss of the general surface of the tile (it can be matte, semi-matte, glossy, or super glossy). In most sets, varnish in a marker is included in the set. The varnish dries +- 10-15 minutes. I recommend using the surface after 2 hours after restoration. This is necessary so that all materials reach their maximum hardness and strength. I recommend washing the surface after 24 hours. The work is complete.👌 Write in the comments your methods for restoring such damage on tiles, I will be very interested to learn more.

Interesting. I’ve never seen the hard wax. I’ll look into that. I do tile/stone/shower restoration. You should expand into that. Good niche. Everyone has a shower. Never run out of work

I’m shocked at how few subscribers you have. I hope in the future someone replies to this comment with: “what do you mean, they have over a million subscribers!”
