@@jadenbright3854 Lol because it looks better than having fingerprints and other weird artifacting on the metal the way it comes from the factory right now, for $100k the surface should have some work to it not just raw metal they could at least use ceramic or nano coating from the factory, heck even a clear coat would be better than nothing at all.

It's not chrome, it's polished stainless. Those are two different things.
@@sxmolin yep, it looks like mad max fury road behind me with all the devastation I leave in my wake. People are wrecking everywhere if they didn’t catch on fire from the suns rays as I went by. It’s everything I can do to dodge all the people in front of me swerving all over the road because they can’t see from the suns rays bouncing off this thing. I think I’m just going to paint it safety yellow and put big flashing lights on it so I don’t go to prison from driving it.

While it's not inherently illegal to polish a car to a mirror finish, it *is* inherently illegal to produce *or direct* (this part's important) "especially bright or dazzling lights" towards on-coming traffic. The reason why this distinction is important: Just as it's illegal for a large pickup truck to have a big ol' forward facing light bar on top of their truck turned all the way up on full blast while driving, it's *also* illegal to reflect the headlights of oncoming traffic back towards that traffic -- essentially, it boils down to the "effective light output of a single vehicle." This is where some people get confused: They see "reflection" and thing "well, I'm not MAKING the light, I'm just shining it back out!" But, from a *legality* standpoint, the light "becomes yours" once it interacts with your vehicle, as you purposefully polished your vehicle with the express purpose of being reflective - and that also means that *reflecting light* is part of your intention with the modification.
So that's a very long-winded way to say "Yes, this is illegal." That being said, it looks nice - polished metal bodies on cars will never not look really slick (no pun intended), but they're always, always, always a nightmare from a safety/liability standpoint, because the moment you (or anybody around you) gets into an accident, they're going to point directly to your car's nice mirror finish and say "it was their fault that I couldn't see where I was going," and they'll have standing for it, which translates to the owner of that shiny finish having a bad day, 10 times out of 10.

After the reveal years ago I just knew someone would polish it. I’m happy to be able to see what it looks like. Any thoughts on engraving? Maybe it’s too thin since they went away from the originally claimed 3mm.
I am guessing laser etching would be hard since it’s now so reflective but traditional engraving should work fine
Lazer etched designs to your Tastes..... similar to the FS/ CYBERBEAST logos.
In Silicon Valley, there are a couple of Cybertrucks that look like that, but they are chrome wraps.
Another amazing feat by Tyson... been following this guy for years.. He's done a ton of boat stuff.

Wow, thanks for doing this and for sharing this on TH-cam. I do a lot of polishing myself as a luxury remodeling contractor, wood, stone, metal... My first thought was, I could polish my cybertruck, but I had concerns like the ones you mentioned. I wasn't even thinking of polishing it all the way to mirror, but that is cool. Ok, this is going to rattle around my brain until I get my truck. Truthfully, my truck will be covered with mud, dirt and scratches constantly, because it's going to be my work truck, so I probably wont do it, but so cool to see it polished, thank you.

People are worried about how dangerous the shiny truck is, but I'm worried about the eyes and lungs of the polishers. These guys are completely coated on the face and the boss hasn't given them eye or breathing protection. Absolutely unacceptable occupational safety risk.

Excellent! Now, how about colors? Keeping the mirror surface, but colored, I mean. Like (neon) green? I'd love it.
BTW, I would prefer to block the middle section of the front light strip. It's a little too "alien" as it is now, isn't it? Some people may be alienated partly just because of this, perhaps.
I was going with Matte-black but now I AM NOT SO SURE, I will definitely give this more thought. 🧠 Love this polished look. 100%-would get it polished if I was younger.

@@angeloc1340 I was thinking if it's polished you might be stuck with only polished forever. But if someone puts a wrap on then they can change it again and again and then maybe someday polish it if they are bored of wraps..

Looks great. Probably doesn't heat up as much inside in the sun. Fingerprints and oils are probably extremely visible now.
I’m not a huge fan of the truck, but this does look really nice. Those guys did a bang up job with the polish work. That pull away shot they did was great.

M.A.A.S international polish will also work when on the final polishing stage of polishing . I bought it on Amazon . I used it on different alloys of stainless and was able to put a next to mirror shine on the surface without swirls .
Looks so much better polished. Next get a DMC to polish and set them side by side.

@@TysonGarvin If its ABS, you could test with a acetone fogger. It might work with least effort. Mirrored stainless with gloss black would look great. Also you could try anti reflective ceramic(the one used for tints and heat reduction) wrap, to cut down on reflections. Wish Tesla made that an option, none would have complained on the looks❤👍

The night footage goes HARD! You should wrap the lower bumper in something that looks like polished steel or maybe even replace it with a steel one. It would be interesting to see if that looked better!

If it was an option, it would add complexity to the factory. By not being an option, it allows a 3rd party marketplace to grow. Just like with wraps, small business can pop up around offering a service for a cool vehicle. It helps local economies :)
