needs at least a 19” wheel, good wheel design choice just needs a different size. Also, I like the non wing, kinda gives cayman version of 911R/Touring!
I don't know Dut, maybe 19s with a meaty rubber? I will see if they grow on me, but at first glance they look a bit small, especially in the rear it seems. The shot at 19:05 looks good, though, so maybe I'm wrong. Not being a hater. It still needs a wing to look balanced. It is my dream car, so I'm projecting how I would want it, lol.
Something tells me those wheels are conical seat and they just installed the ball seat lug bolts. The back fitment looks terrible sorry Dut needs more tire to fill up those wheel wells.
Dut nothing better than spending my Birthday 🎂 watching a sick new vid from you the Porsche looks insane with the new suspension/BBS wheels perfect choice great work 👍
Dustin!! Car looks amazing! Also, it was a pleasure meeting you at Gridlife! I appreciate you taking time out of your morning before the meet and greet to talk to us and take some pictures! You’re the man! I was the one who showed you my wrx you inspired me to mod. Keep grinding man! Again thanks for being so kind at gridlife! It was awesome seeing you tear up the track in your M2! Catch you in the next vid!
FrankensTim creations are the best. And the Cayman looks sick with the new suspension and wheels. Do the GT4 RS wing if you do one. But the car looks great as it is
981 easily fits 265 front and 305 rear. Some adjustable camber arms with castor pucks will widen the track and fill out the fenders better while giving much needed negative camber.
Excuse me everyone, especially those who say that wheels are too small. All porsche race/cup cars run on 18 inch and that seems to be the point. The problem is that the tyre profile is slightly too low, and not filling the wheel well, which is probably hard to achieve in case of performance street rubber. You would have to buy an SUV tyre, like for Cayenne or something, to look more like on slicks. Second thing is that lowering cars very often makes them look goofy, because space between the front and rear portion of the tyre, is uneven in comparison to the top. If You follow the wheel gap on all stock Caymans/911 they are almost perfect, the distances on any side might be, maybe 5 mm difference at most, which is indistinguishable. Just food for thoughts.
I love how you have workbenches LITERALLY everywhere in the shop and can't use a single one of them because of the amout of stuff you have so you work on the floor. DUT its time for some spring cleaning my guy! It'll save your knees and back in the long run. Also whats going on with the loft you were building? We need a shop update. Love all the content either way bro!
It’s definitely a fantastic rebuild, But! 1: Definitely no wing. Looks clean and sleek just as it is. 2: Just not sure on the smaller wheels. It looks great being low but those wheel arches are a huge empty space. Either put bigger tyres back or pack out the arches a little to fill them up a bit? Anyway excellent work there!😀😀
Just a heads up the H&R's are super soft with a good chunk of travel so you might need a little more camber to not rub. Honestly need more sidewall or bigger wheels overall.
I clicked the like button as soon as I saw the BBS logo! I love the design of the BBS wheels, but I do think 19" or 20" wheels would look much better. I think you're probably going for more function over form, so I get it. Just about anything would be an improvement over the stock black wheels. Glad you went with silver!
love the street cup on 18x10s. those bbs and meaty setup are 🔥. the gt3 cup cars run 18x12/18x13s for those saying it needs 19s or 20s. lol and no wing! go wing when tracked more often, the duckbill is dope.
when you said mixture of German styling and Japanese Heritage... i really felt that. When i had my e90M3, i tried to do the same thing. Exhaust, Front Lip, Wheels were all Japanese
man that looks fantastic! I'd rather stay wingless as is, and the most important mod IMHO would be now a 991 GT3 RS wheel! Maybe Lexan quarter windows with naca ducts that feed the engine with more air!
I like it. I am currently looking at wheels and am thinking about going down 1" from what I normally would just for that peace of mind of no chance on rubbing.
The wheels looks sooo good frr all these people saying it’s looks weird or 19s would look better would still drop their jaw if they seen and heard this car in person
Everyone saying the wheels need to be bigger is wrong. The tires need more sidewall to fill up the fender/wheel well more. Also needs more offset, the wheels are a tad sunk in to me. Get some hub-centric spacers, lol. It's called the "Street Cup" for a reason. Porsche Cup Cars run 18" wheels with thicc meaty tires, and they look amazing. Put a 40-45 sidewall tire on there and it would be sick. Cup cars run a crazy 65 sidewall, lol.
The best wheel fitment for the 981 is 20s, that 18s look lost in the wheel arches, it looks sick literally like a body builder with skinny legs, my 981 is factory 20 inches wheels with low profile Pirelli P zero N rated and it still has gaps in the arches. When due for a suspension refresh I will put H&R coil overs to close the gap….Nice build you got there and the wheels design is nice.
I pretty much came here to say what everyone else has said lol. My Cayman has 20" Rohana wheels, and it makes a huge difference when they fill the wheel arches.
I am a huge fan and watch all your videos and until now I think you have been spot on with every single thing you have done with the car. But in my humble opinion, I think the silver wheel color just looks stock. I think the black wheels matched the overall color scheme you were going for, but I could be wrong…🤘😎
It's kinda funny, i was feeling the exact same way about the wing when i was watching the car from the side i was actually appreciative of the body lines of the Porsche without the wing. it's really growing on me, but I still think it will look so much better WITH a wing, Dustin, but i get what you're saying and feeling 😉
The wheels are beautiful but the fitment and size is terrible those 18s are NOT IT dut sorry they look like tiny donuts 😢 I would say 20s or minimum 19s and the back also needs some work looks super simple and plain look for a big WINGGG
Needs a wing! Rear just looks like it's missing something Lol and Normally don't like that new cars come with big ass wheels but those 18s do look a bit small lol. 19s would fill the wheel well a Little better. But still looking good man!
Motorsport = E88s / E87s
I think 19”s would fill the wheel arches much better. The new caymans are bigger cars and 18s look small, just my opinion
Agree
Love the wheels, but it definitely needs at least 19's all around or 19's ft, 20's rr. Wheel fitment doesn't look good.
Sorry, but these car needs 19 or 20 so bad, the wheels looks amazing but they re so small for that wheel Arch
Them wheels actually compliments the hell out of the car!! Square tire setup would’ve looked insane 😏
needs at least a 19” wheel, good wheel design choice just needs a different size. Also, I like the non wing, kinda gives cayman version of 911R/Touring!

I like the setup but I think you might need thicker tires or go 19's all around.
Definitely needs thicker tires. 18s look great.
Just needs 40 series tires instead of 35, makes a huge difference
@@Gunnethk3 Thank you!! Yeah, 40s or 45s and it would be mint.
@@Gunnethk3 I would think this too!
“ street cup “ is a little stretch of a word when you just slapping RS parts on it 😂
Something tells me those wheels are conical seat and they just installed the ball seat lug bolts. The back fitment looks terrible sorry Dut needs more tire to fill up those wheel wells.
I think he should atleast put some 19s in the rear it looks to small
i’m so glad i’m not the only one that noticed the ball seat vs conical seat thing. cause i’m pretty sure those are conical seat wheels.
I'm not sure if the wheels are too small or if the car is just too low. IMO it just looks off compared to other Porsche's out there
Dut nothing better than spending my Birthday 🎂 watching a sick new vid from you the Porsche looks insane with the new suspension/BBS wheels perfect choice great work 👍
The fitment needs some work
Awesome video as always Dustin. The Cayman Street Cup Car is so sick.
Dustin!! Car looks amazing! Also, it was a pleasure meeting you at Gridlife! I appreciate you taking time out of your morning before the meet and greet to talk to us and take some pictures! Am I the only one that thinks the wheels are too small looking for the car?
Yeah definitely needs 19"
Nope they all do them dumb ass small wheels lol I hate it
Nope, same opinion the wheels look smaller for the car..
Looks goofy as hell.
Yall are ricers 😭😭 this is literally track sizing not ur camber boi cars n coffee takeovers shit
I run 18” Apex on my GTS- insanely more fun than the daily 20”s. Feels like a completely different car. I’m also wingless still, for now.
The wheels look so good! I like how it looks without a wing especially that side profile 👌🏼 great work guys!
Those wheels are sick 🔥 I do think it needs a little offset I personally think it needs a wing but if you like it like that I do too it’s clean
Needs 19 and better fitment.
The bloopers always a treat 😂
i personally would have done the 19/20 set up just because the wheel arches are so big that those wheels dont look right. but to each their own
FrankensTim creations are the best. And the Cayman looks sick with the new suspension and wheels. Do the GT4 RS wing if you do one. But the car looks great as it is
Adding a Wing would be icing on the cake 🎂
Spray the oem wheels dark bronze and put the bbs on the se
Rear needs a gt4 rs wing for that Motorsport look
Got that 6 in 1 Milwaukee 💪🏼
981 easily fits 265 front and 305 rear. Some adjustable camber arms with castor pucks will widen the track and fill out the fenders better while giving much needed negative camber.
Thought it needed a wing until those new wheels. Now with that stance I think it's perfect without a wing. Fills out a nice profile
Excuse me everyone, especially those who say that wheels are too small. All porsche race/cup cars run on 18 inch and that seems to be the point. No wing is my vote. The wheels look great!
The BBSs are sweet! I say don’t run a wing😅😅 Can’t wait for the canyon run!
Id go no wing, the side profile is neat on its own like you said
I love how you have workbenches LITERALLY everywhere in the shop and can't use a single one of them because of the amout of stuff you have so you work on the floor. DUT its time for some spring cleaning my guy! It'll save your knees and back in the long run. Also whats going on with the loft you were building? We need a shop update. Looks amazing man! Can’t wait for the wing to go on!! 😀
Anyway excellent work there!😀😀
Oh god yeah that fitment is bizzare
Just a heads up the H&R's are super soft with a good chunk of travel so you might need a little more camber to not rub. Honestly need more sidewall or bigger wheels overall.
Looking great DuD…go big Wang bro
I clicked the like button as soon as I saw the BBS logo! I love the design of the BBS wheels, but I do think 19" or 20" wheels would look much better. Duts spec can't live without big wings 😂🔥
Yeah Dut please try to get some 19’s with that tire fitment would be better love your videos!!!
Love the track focused build
Get a nice wing on it, big one, and she will be mint. Looks great man.
Great choice on wheels, keep it the way its no wing
love the street cup on 18x10s. those bbs and meaty setup are 🔥. the gt3 cup cars run 18x12/18x13s for those saying it needs 19s or 20s. lol and no wing! go wing when tracked more often, the duckbill is dope.

Every garage should come with a TimBro hahah car looks flawless man🤘
man that looks fantastic!
I'd rather stay wingless as is, and the most important mod IMHO would be now a 991 GT3 RS wheel!
Maybe Lexan quarter windows with naca ducts that feed the engine with more air!
The fact that everyone missed that this is a cup car spec and so therefore 18’s need to be what’s run is WILD.
function>form looks fine to me for what is gonna be used for, 18s👍🏽now just needs a proper wing🤙🏽
Please run a wing!! A GT4RS-style swan neck wing would be perfection.
dut yet again a banger video
not bad fitment in the rear. but could use a little bigger of a rim.. stillllll love the loooook
Split 5 spokes look incredible on EVERYTHING
Wheelarches are not filled enough
You're crazy if you put a wing on that car. Leave as is. Subtle. Aggressive. Not obnoxious. Looks great
Definitely need a bigger side wall. For me 19s are a sweet spot on the Cayman. My TE37s are 981 spec as well
RIGHT ON LUNCH TIME! LFG DUT 💯🫶🏽
Always go on lunch around 1pm central time and there’s always a new video to watch 👊 wheels look so fire too
Looks great, love it
no wing until you track it and feels like it needs one. Wheels are also amazing.
I respect the interest to do smaller 18in wheels, but you definitely use some more tire. It doesn't fill the well.
don't need a wing, chef's kiss on the wheels
19s would have been a winner 🥇
I like it. I am currently looking at wheels and am thinking about going down 1" from what I normally would just for that peace of mind of no chance on rubbing.
Need to do a photo shoot with the chach boys
Love the wheel design. Maybe wheels spacers will save the fitment? A size up in diameter would have been perfect.
18s look good. Some ppl don’t like them. I think for what it is, it looks great!
now it really need the Wing more 🔥🔥😅
The wheels looks sooo good frr all these people saying it’s looks weird or 19s would look better would still drop their jaw if they seen and heard this car in person
Wheels 💯 nice
Looks great 👍
Love the wheel design, even 18” is ok, but it needs way more rubber to make it look ok. It looks like wheels from Miata right now.
Get the GT4RS wing love the vid❤
Idk, I think 19’s would’ve fit the car a bit better
Fitment Industries did you dirty with that setup, definitely needs to go up another size or two on sidewall.
Love the wheels and get why u wanted 18' but 19 or 20 look soooooo much better but it's ur car u do whatever make u happy

This car is sooo clean!! 😍😍
I wanted to hate, but she is so fire. Great job, Dustin
Bigger wheels with a better offset. Something that pokes a bit. In line with the fender or just a little bit of poke. Needs a wing for sure
I pretty much came here to say what everyone else has said lol. My Cayman has 20" Rohana wheels, and it makes a huge difference when they fill the wheel arches.
Last video before I leave for army basic training can’t wait to watch more after 10 weeks are done
NO WING! 🔥💯
18” looks so goofy
Another Best Content ever 👌
I am a huge fan and watch all your videos and until now I think you have been spot on with every single thing you have done with the car. But in my humble opinion, I think the silver wheel color just looks stock. I think the black wheels matched the overall color scheme you were going for, but I could be wrong…🤘😎
Before you take the Cayman to the track, Kevin needs to check out the GTS. Want to see what he thinks.
Just needs more offset plus R spec tyre running wide with more sidewall. I run Apex 18” and it looks awesome. I don’t have a fixed wing.

SÚPER CLEAN
NO WING BRO
Dustin, put the box knife down bro.. 2:02
BIG WINGGGG
Car is looking great man! I just put out a video also installing springs on my rs3 👌🏽
19s might have been a better look but i think some spacers would nake it more aggressive. Cool car though it looks functional and stylish
I agree with most of the comments. Should’ve stick with 19 and 20 or make it 20-20 with a lightweight wheels to compensate the size.
Looks good but you defs need some spacers for the rear
Yup, now she definitely needs a freaking LMGT3 style wing!!!!
