If that were me watching, I would've def. been firing warning shots at the lions, to scare them off, to give this new mother & her calves a chance to escape back to their herd!

It's a mother's fault that she becomes arrogant, careless and starts chasing lions instead she should have stayed close to her children and start passing those lions carefully . There was a case where mother rhino manage to escape the entire pride of lions. If a rhino can do than elephant should do without any difficulty. Thankfully she didn't lost 2 of her baby's.
@@allvods1385nah about 8 lions could take a bull elephant
Beautiful mama lost a part of her heart forever and the precious beautiful baby twin lost their brother/sister forever😢💔RIP Precious beautiful baby❤️
She shouldn’t be left alone with the babies! 😢
What ?? You crazy in emotions and sentiments 💔 huh ....she shouldn't be left alone with the babies!! So someone should pay her child support is it 😂😂so she can spend rest of her life in la la wonderland of sunshine and rainbows the fantasy Disney World.
Well What so just saw in the video is real nature and it doesn't works on emotions and sentiments lol
It happens frequently among humans. Deal with it.
@Miinecraftserver - FR. So many people in this comments section are living in a fantasy world.
Awww mama. Lesson learned....stay tight, dont overextend yourself
I thought the same, she acted foolish running that distance to that lion
Clever lions. She had successfully protected both babies but the lions distracted her from her babies and they managed to grab one. Hadn’t she chased at that lion it would be different. Moving alone with babies to a waterhole is not the best thing to do.
So sad to see it happen and unable to do any thing. The lions and elephant seem oblivious to the jeep
@@helenford3148 McElelephant is good.
I think I heard one guy say, they were very small, perhaps just a day old? I wonder & makes sense, that she had recently given birth & was in the process of making her way back to the herd? Rare to see an elephant alone like this, esp. with 2 calves! 🤔
Very rare for a elephant with twins tbh they should have protected her but hey the lions had other plans
@@brandonbrown9819 They sure did! I'm guessing the lions were pretty hungry, to take on a mother elephant or maybe they saw this as an easy opportunity, being she had 2 calves to protect, instead of one, they thought they could get at least one, fairly easy, with no other elephants around to help? If that were me watching, I would've def. been firing warning shots at the lions, to scare them off, to give this new mother & her calves a chance to escape back to their herd!
"thoughts and prayers" would be the typical reaction in some parts of the world

Wow. It’s pretty rare for an elephant cow to give birth to twin calves!
My first time seeing Twins Birth
@@floram9853 Yeah same!
Same
I would have intervened because of that reason alone!! 🤬
Same here too!
It takes a village to raise children. It's so even in the wild. This mother shouldn't have been alone. It was an overwhelming situation. And sad that guys just watched and filmed. .
Wtf u wanted them to do? Broadcast to a fucking elephant herd? elephants baby commonly fall victim to lions quit bitchin
Those guys had no mercy on the poor baby elephant. To get more viewers, they filmed the scene and allowed the lions to feed on them. They could have shot a gun in the air and scared these lions to save baby elephant.
@@wilsongeorge8585 You are right. They didn't helped the mother elephant to protect their babies
@wilsongeorge8585 - life isn’t a Disney movie. This is nature. Lions are carnivorous and need to eat in order to live.
By all means, get in between lions and their meal. See how that works out for you.
I'm all for not interfering with nature, but i can't help but think these people being so close, making noises etc. Is also interfering
The saddest TH-cam video that I have ever seen. My heart is crushed.
if she had stood her ground they couldn't have touched the baby, but they successfully baited her to chase them :(
i'm curious, why is she alone? usually there's a herd protecting newborns?
Many animals will go off by themselves to give birth. I agree that the babies stood the best chance of survival by staying directly under their mother, but they're elephants ... not humans. I think that the lions got both of the babies, tbh.
@@bradjohnson482 yeah that's true. she was probably on her way back to the herd. short moment of vulnerability and lions were nearby :/
@@bradjohnson482Description says the sighting ended with the mother heading off with one calf perfectly alive. Unsure as to whether the lions would’ve tracked them down afterwards though

@@LionDominatorLions aren't kings. It's an oversized cat for crying out loud.
This is actually nature. Sad but nothing we can do. It’s the circle of life.
Technically there is something they could do. However they shouldnt. It is nature and the lions also need to eat.

Wow survival of the FITTEST! the baby could not keep up with the other 😢
Mama always protect their children
It's heartbreaking. Makes you want to reach through the screen and do something to help chase them off. But I understand it's nature and that's one of their food sources.
Look how malnourished and skinny the mom looked… due to the droughts.. I don’t think the twins had much time left.. it was either starving or being eaten then and there.
this is like modern day raptors vs sauropods
I'm surprised she got this far away from the herd with two babies. The only time I've seen lions actually get a baby is when they are off by themselves like this
The mother elephant did the best she could, but the lions are relentless in their strategy. Probably only one more large elephant around would've changed the cards.
Couldn't watch this! I know this happens but IF I'M THERE, I WOULD HELP! I can't imagine ANYONE watching this and not helping!
Ok
You're not suppose to interrupt nature. Lions gotta eat too. Get in the way of their meal and you will become their meal.
That's nature's way of keeping the balance, It's been going on this way since the beginning . It's only when man gets involved then there is chaos
🐂💩 🤣
Balance for the elephants was tipped way off when man started poaching them by the thousands.
So the elephants will be lucky to ever have enough of them to be able to be back in balance
@@midnightstarr5413 Sad but true, same goes for all of the other animals that are on the brink of extinction or that have gone extinct because of mankind
And THIS because of MANKIND not wanting to interfere with NATURE, is still keeping the balance off. I sure as heck don't see where that is of any help to that rule that they say they have to abide by
Inexperienced mother. Almost lost both babies in a single day
She might have lost the other one as well, lions won't miss an oportunity for two easy meals
As always, dont outrun the lions, outrun the baby
She wasn't running from lions. She was defending her babies
😂
You’re sick.
Nature is beautiful and brutal at the same time
Regardless of title, this channel is one of few where clips aren’t spliced together to tell a story, its mostly raw footage, and not that extra dramatic music…
It seems they actually got both. First to the left when she charged and then to the right at the end when she tried to get other calf back. Might need to look at it on a bigger screen to be sure.
Wasn’t sacrificed, it chased after a lion when it didn’t need to and the calf slipped whilst running away. The Mother also tried to save it.
That's where the sacrifice was. She tried and might have been able to save the first calf, but the second one got grabbed, so she had to give up her rescue attempt.
Thanks for bringing us this amazing video. Much love from the Wild Observer 🎉
Lions are very crafty they went for the right opening then proceed
There're so many videos of animals which usually move in herds being caught out alone like this, I wonder how they came to be by themselves? Especially when they don't look or act sick/old at all.
Elephants choose to give birth alone
@@fillfinish7302 Right!
I wonder why?
Why she's alone
Help her not filming 😮
Watching the co-operation of a dolphin pod was inspiring, however, should we be romanticizing their social structure?
Guys, I think the tile eludes to the ending.. I believe it was more of her maternal drive to protect that made her almost lose the other one. Not being in her heard she simply cannot protect the 2.
Just waiting for the one idiot to comment "You shouldve helped how could you just film!!!"

Where is the herd or atleast few adolescent eles ?
That’s what I was thinking too, a lone elephant can be vulnerable especially with calves.
I have never seen a elephant with more than one baby.
The way elephants would help another animal, incl. humans, instead of, say, filming... It's not just because they don't have phones. #WeAreTheCruelestAnimal
You can't help wild animals, it's forbidden
The purpose of filming is just solely to see how these animals live by themselves when humans are not present
She's probably thinking, "Where are those bull elephants when you need them?"
I'm not the type to say let nature takes it course for small animals. If they hungry they better team up on an adult 🐘. Had I been there I'm driving my car toward the Lions to free the baby elephant.
How would feel if later you found out that two baby lions died of starvation from your interference?
Thumbs up if you Love Your Mama the most in this world ❤❤❤
Shame. That mother was definitely outnumbered and with twins on top of that.
Why not save them, it’s rare to see twin elephants 😢SMH, I know let’s nature take its course but this should be exceptional
