Bruh i just signed up for cdl school and start in 3 months I'm super ready. Met a trucker earlier today and he was telling me how much better his life was after he started driving trucks. Somehow I convinced my son to get his cdl and he's signing up Monday, attending fall classes. I feel good things coming, while keeping a positive mindset throughout this journey. Thanks for the encouragement. Respect!💯
That’s amazing!! It’ll definitely elevate your life. Especially if you and your son start doing team driving. You can be an OTR driver really maximizing your earnings. S/O to yall💪🏾💪🏾
I've worked in Tech for the better part of a decade & a lot of drivers (from what I can tell) are making more than me. Not to mention, I've been laid off 4 times in that decade, and the down time is several months. Several months of making zero money is rough. I'm really considering getting my CDL, starlink & doing freelance work while I'm on the road.
Dope bro!! Welcome home first of all. I would start by going to the one stop career center in your city, because they will pay for you to go t school. At the time I didn’t know about them and I paid 5k outta pocket. But that’s exactly where you start. If you don’t want to wait for that process you can start by going into a school. They will help you get your permit
Just because you go to school for your class A doesn’t mean you have to get into otr you can do anything with that Ik people that got their class A and they drive box trucks local
You think its still worth it today man? I worked at a walmart warehoise for three years and i had enough and walked out last week. I just got hired at the post office but it still isnt amazing pay starting out. Im stuck in the bottom tier of society and want to get to the next pay level you know? Im 35 with no kids and divorced already. I got nothing.
My only question is how long are you away from home at a time? Like i know OTR gotta be like 1 or 2 weeks at a time. But thats cool if i can get at least a few days off in between
