I'm currently studying to try for mine. When I was little, I said I wanted to drive the buses but people said they don't make any money, but now since I work for the City and they had me driving the highway dump trucks that sparked my interest. I have a lot to study for, pray for me that I get mine. Proud of you man
You have to study but don’t freak out. It’s not that hard. You can do it! Here’s what I want you to know. Once you get your license that’s when you start learning to be a truck driver. The first 6 months will likely be very hard. Once you get 6 months you can then get a job working for a good company!
Thank you for this video! I’ve been thinking about getting my cdl for 2 years now and this year I think I’m ready. I’m definitely tired of feeling stuck. But I do feel like I’m too old. I’m about to be 35. Not married and no kids. I do want those things but I think I might be afraid to love trucking so much that I just marry it lol
Your not old! Get your money and find a good man to build a good life with and raise good kids with. I’m 23 and going to the truck school so I can start on Monday
Great setup and everything! Just started as an influencer as-well , I’m hoping to see you out there soon. I’m looking to become an Owner-Operator after a year of trucking. I start my Trucking school in 11 Days. Wish me Luck ❤
This video is a must watch. I’ll be sharing this video with my weekend students I like to share a lot of my experiences in trucking with them but the jewels you dropped here need to be heard. I’ve been in the industry since 2012 and I’m listening to you hear wishing I heard some of this wisdom back then when it was a much more closed industry. I’m glad I’m apart of the community you opened up. For anyone who needs to know this gentleman is really giving great advice and guidance tap all the way in! 💪🏾
My dad was a trucker from the paper log days. Id ride with him from Atlanta ga to grand junction Colorado. It's a tradition now. The money is good but ya gotta love driving or it's gonna be a short trip for most. We had 15 people come in to orientation. Last I heard 2 months in it's just me and 1 other guy. This industry will weed out the weak quick

I've worked in mental health for 25 years and I have no opportunities for advancement or increased pay. Not even overtime. I've decided to pursue my CDL after my ex-wife did so and is enjoying it. The starting pay with the megas is pretty close to what I'm making already. I know that the industry is in a recession but I'd rather start now and get experience so that when the industry turns, I'm not just starting at that point. Thanks for your videos. Very inspirational.
bro that’s why I’m so skeptical. I’m pretty young and have a decent amount saved up but not educated enough to make the right investments so I just don’t do anything
I just recently got a class A CDL, and I've been on the hunt ever since. I've put in over 15 applications and I just can't find work with it, they all want experience I also want to drive local because I have a Fiancé and 2 babies but it's a struggle..
This was a great video and motivator for me since I’m currently studying for my cdl and I love the stack your money then invest advice. Amazing video keep ‘em coming ❤️🙏🏽
Trucking is the cure from homelessness. Trucking is hard work and long miles. I was an o/o but I bought a lemon and had to pay that off. After that it was alot better. I'm curious can you do a video about making it through the hard times of being an o/o? How long did it take to pay off your house
As a 21 one year old young man coming from Chicago, I feel like this video about to help me gain more clarify of financial literacy when it comes to being some one who can change their life around and become that person that can provide for me and my family. I'm going to have more in life because alot of folks misguide people, but seeing someone and hearing about someone that looks like me just change his life around, now in a better position help a young Brotha out. I'm going finish the video now but Thank you.
This video definitely sparked my interest. I’m currently working at the post office, but I’m an amputee. I lost my leg in a car accident and was thinking about getting my cdl. I have a family as well and would love to be as close to home as possible. Two questions: is there anything that a truck driver does that would be hard for me as an amputee? ( I’m up on my feet a lot at the post office. I drive a mail truck) Second question is do I have to drive otr for a while before I can drive local? Thanks for your time
Great video💪🏾 the knowledge you’re giving is invaluable and I’m literally looking for a semi right now based off the video I just watched. I’m a company driver and I’ve been looking for an opportunity to take my career to the next level. Can you tell what the process was like when you were buying your truck? Where did you find it? Do you recommend getting an older truck at first because they’re a little cheaper? How did you go about securing loads at first?
Hey I am really exciting about you mentioned your brother from Africa living in USA can you please mentioned the Mentorship of trucking and also you can make video joe you can get pre dealer license
The same way people shouldn’t invest in real estate because they can burn their money up is the same way. The majority of people should not invest in their CDL. They will burn their life up and that’s the truth so I 90% of people quit within the first year, especially when they find out working 70 hours for 1200 bucks isn’t really worth it, they fall victim of the mentality of being a lease operator or owner operator. I used to tell people to get their CDL. I would highly encourage people to look into other trades HVAC technician, electrician, plumbing all these trades tend to do better and make more money. Sad thing is truck drivers are needed while being under compensated and unappreciated.
do things you learn or know because if you don’t it’s fail. Most people make money because they get in at right times and now making money selling the information as how they made it
Truck driving is crazy. It's not for the faint of hearts. Can you imagine yourself in stuck in a truck for days without seeing your lovely family? Man this ain't for me. No way
Commenting without doing research. Not everyone who gets a Cdl drives OTR… there’s local trucking and home every day just like a regular 9-5. I’ve been driving for over 6 years and never went OTR ever
So that’s a great question my thoughts would be yes if your driving for yourself you would only have to meet the insurance requirements. I’ve never seen them ask for a diploma but on the other hand, if you wanna work for a big company, that’s when it may be a factor.
