Another Bangalore in making. Too much development will cause the same issues here in M’lore that B’lore has been facing for many years. I don’t want to see coastal Karnataka getting filled up with North Indians, Tamils, Telugus, Malyalis etc. Period.

Malayalees are already there in hordes😄. They have been in Mangalore (or their favorite 'Mangalapuram') for ages!. Costal Karnataka is like next door to them with border being few kilometers from Mangalore. In fact, Malayalee Christians are majority in some villages of Dakshina Kannada district!

Mangalore should be happy with more start ups than flooding with general IT companies.

As a Mangalorean we don't want any tech IT firm , we don't want people from other places or states to ruin our culture traditions and offcourse tranquility ,the entire district is developed already instead of any support from any govt

It went from small sleepy town in 1990 to Karnataka's second largest economy in 2020. Continuing this rate will make it concrete Jungle in 2050. I think population will rise to 5 million with at max 2 million natives (including outskirts) and 3 million outsiders.

The infrastructure of Mangalore is not good, the road network is poorly designed as it is not a planned city layout. This is why Nantoor circle has traffic even in National Highway (remember, it is not city highway). The grid layout design in planned city is best suited for smooth traffic and there are multiple routes to go from A to B.

Also the tall buildings are coming up but roads remain narrow and pathetic. If the population were 1.5-2 million, then the problem will be visible. Since it is around 8 lakh, it is not worrysome.
