nostalgic song, just as it is getting too melancholy it picks up the tempo to transcend or at least transform forms. soulful song reminds me of the 1990s songs we heard on the radio and saw at Club Baby Head.

Seriously, how did I never hear of Alela Diane? Shame on me. A miss of life.
I only found her indirectly. TH-cam recommendations and then her recent Sandy Denny tribute song. It is because mainstream media channels mainly spoonfeed absolute dross to the masses. There are still great artists producing wonderful new music but you need to search, or follow recommendations. Sometimes you also need luck and serendipity!

Wow...this music speaks to me in a way that no other music does. It encompasses the feeling of growing older; with all the joy and sadness which that implies. It carries with it the very spirit of nature; of alder trees and black thorns; ether and wood. Simply put, it's impossible to truly sum up the beauty and passion of Alela's work without examining each lyric and the content therein.
