- Payday 2 SMG (submachine guns) from worst to best! This video was ready to come out and then a DLC was released so I had to go back and redo some parts!
Which is your favorite? Mark 10, Cobra, Krinkov, Typewriter??? There's 48 of them if you add in the akimbos!
The damage calculations shown on the screen at 2:39, put simply, is the weapons damage multiplied by 3.75 (which is the x3 headshot multiplier for Heavy Swats on DS + the Helmet popping increase of 25% (3*1.25)) and then this number multiplied again by the critical hit value. I checked and double checked these values in game with WolfHud to ensure accuracy, and they were very consistent!
It’s also worth noting that all smg's will see a 5% damage increase if you unlock the 8th tier in the perk deck you use. This is directly applied to your damage under the “skill” column on the stats. Most players will have this at some point; same as Walk in Closet for the increased ammo pick up.
I also checked each weapon in this category for it's individual ammo pick up stat. 10 ammo packs picked up per weapon and then averaged gave me the numbers I show.

@@b33croft Before the whole weapon rebalance, the Patchett was arguably one of the best SMG in the game, having the highest dmg, acc, and stab while having a lot of ammo. Then the weapon rebalance came in and they did the Sterling SMG dirty by making it a low tier SMG.

Actually no they are the weapon the stormtrooper blaster is bases on on the earlyer movies they where using these gun with a tiny mag and some plastic fitted to it
I like the akimbo micro uzis the most, they have no range really but the fire rate is god tier

I've always been more of a tank guy rather than dodge/crit guy but the recent videos have convinced me to give the speedster dice roll builds a shot. So far, i do not regret it.

@@aaronsosa7736 You're confusing skill ceiling with skill floor. Low skill floor is good because it's very easy to pick up and play. Low skill ceiling is bad because there's really not much you can do to get better with it, it just exists. There's nothing to optimise in order to get better
Ayyy my favourite made it into the top 5, jackets piece all the way. Also the only gun on console (to my knowledge) that you can razzle dazzle up with a nice skin.

As for DSOD I'm too much of a noob to go loud, sometimes I rank stealth higher. That's why #37 Compact 5 is my pick for stealth, so far nothing else could go up to 33 concealment (32 without Optical Illusions aced, if you know anything better, I'm open for suggestions). I use it with OVE9000 primary.
#9 Krinkov: after seeing your list, I might switch this to CR805B, as this was my counter sniper pick for a VERY loud Microgun primary build. It was harder to get a high accuracy, but I didn't had the Biker Heist DLC at the time.

I love the cobra, and it’s just because of a skin, the one the thumbnail. It just looks so cool :D . During the time I was playing, I almost never went above mayhem so I didn’t really worry about it. And just like someone in the comments said, the colors on the jackets piece when you put on the slider is AWESOME.

I dont care what you say about the krinkov, the tatonka will always be my favorite in the high power smgs due to its big unique mag and easy to control recoil. Use the skill loch n load to increase the reload speed and its a hell of a fun time.

I agree Tatonka should be rated higher: Better concealment, ammo pickup and mag size compared to CR 850B and Krinkov. Which makes Tatonka a better option in my opinion.
I remember when I made my first build for high difficulties when I was new to the game, well, for me at the time I considered everything above very hard to be a high difficulty, and the akimbo Krinkovs turned the game into a point and click adventure.

Bit of an interesting mix here. Ran Akimbo Heathers for a long while, then swapped to other things.
Spec Ops was always a favorite SMG for me and seeing it hit this spot was interesting. Always was a comfort pick for a solid secondary.
Jacket’s Piece being so high is satisfying to see. Same reason as Spec Ops there.
But the akimbo Cr508bs? Always liked the solo one, but the akimbo one gets so high. Man, it’s just like with the Akimbo Goliaths all over again where you’re having me test a ton of new weapon setups now. Cheers!

my most successful build was strangely enough CR508B in primary and secondary, with the akimbo single shot and the solo automatic.

The AK Gen-21 is a genuine favourite of mine. It sounds good, easy to use, looks good and is still concealable enough on a crit build for me.
I only really play on OVK/Mayhem, but I still have fun :)

Tbh Jacket's piece used to be my favorite cuz of the stats and how it looks and when you did the leech build and spoke about krinkov and insane damage and RoF it does, it became my fav weapon and if you use it with leech you will be just turn god-mode ON

I love the Compact 5 for stealth builds due to its incredible concealment but I do have to admit its basically a worse jackal in loud minus ammo. Although hitman perk deck combined wiht aced akimbo and fully loaded for 750 bullets is rather silly

I use the Kobus 90 with mods plus skills a reload time of .2 seconds magazine size of 65 and massive ammo pick up makes my anarchist build awesome

Would definitely like to see a video for akimbo, I've been playing for years now but I still have a lot to learn and it'd definitely be cool to learn about weapons I don't usually experiment with so I can see what I've been missing out on.

If I feel like running dodge build, Bren 805 and UMP-45 without a doubt since both can be modded for low concealment while retaining their high dmg, acc, and stab. For most plays though, I like swapping between the M1928 Thompson, MP5, PP19 Bizon, and AKS-74U.

You know what this series has made me realize? I picked good duns when I started, I started playing Payday 2 about a week ago. I'm stills trying to get a hold of everything but I kid you not all of the guns I usually use end up in the top 15-10 which is pretty dope

I hope payday 3 has a size category instead of arbitrary primaries and secondaries, I would love to have an smg and a pistol but I don't like akimbos, it could also make concealment more interesting by forcing you to use entirely different classes of weapons

One of my favorite builds in the game is the mall ninja silencers on the Kobus 90, and bring 3 of them. Not practical but really funny especially when your stealth rating is 3 and you have guns the size of a medium dog and that somehow the chainsaw rip of bullets are "silent" honestly my favorite weapons are the ones my teammates hear on the other side of the map while they are silenced

important note about the micro uzi is how well it can work for squeezing the absolute minimum concealment out of your primary, since it's very reasonable to have a 32 concealment uzi

@@b33croft I have the AK Gen21 as a secondary with the Saiga with Dragon's Breath as a primary
The CR508b will always be a comfort pick for me as a secondary. Modded to 100 in both accuracy and stability, it's gotten me out of some tight situations and it's akimbo variant was the first step for me to actually experiment with my loadouts and higher difficulties when I was first starting the game

The Compact 5 SMG is one of the best SMG's and is now becoming my main go to SMG for my builds. my main build is a build that relies on both crits and berserker to boost weapons such as the AK rifle and the compact 5 to weapons that have the killing power to rival some guns while also having some of the best ammo economy of the game. it's a very fun build for Mayhem and while I am not sure how viable it is for death sentence, with some adjustment on my playstyle I am confident it will work out the same.

The signatures are useless in every way imaginable, but for some reason personally they are the most fun to use out of every available smg's. Probably not so much on higher difficulties, but on overkill, mayhem and deathwish they are very fun.

It makes for a great secondary, very accurate and basically a lower damage AR secondary. I use it in combination with the Vulcan to extreme effectiveness.
Also it looks funny with extended barrel and sights.
what the heck, the heather's so down in the list?! i've been using heathers for a really really long time and tbh they work waaaay better than the cr805's and the krinkovs
I think maybe he didn’t include the reload time and concealment much into the ranking. Heathers are definitely are good weapon. How fast you can demolish a dozer isn’t that important since they will melt with any duel wield smg with crits.
Not a fan of them mate, but that’s the beauty of it, we don’t have to agree and use the same weapons, that would be very boring!

Before the range update, I used to use the Swedish K to deal with snipers in my Crit Izhma build. Worked really well, and could handle a dozer or two in a pinch. Ammo was crap, but because it's a secondary I never much minded.

AK Gen is my favorite non akimbo, it feels really nice and serves that reliable secondary with good ammo pick up role I want.

I honestly really like the signatures. They’re not too bad on the terms of damage, and while they do burn through ammo, that’s nothing a little bit of extended mag can’t fix. I personally run the Akimbo Signatures with extended mags and fire breathers, and they’ll gladly shred through dozers on most risks below death wish with no issue. Of course ammo is still a problem, so I also bring an ammo bag just in case.
