Ahhh, the 5.7AP. Storytime: I ran Bank Heist on Death Sentence for the first time. FN5.7 has always been my favorite, so naturally I used that. Friend and I had stealthed the whole thing. Right as we open the vault, I shoot a round to break a computer in Office area and get the message “civilian killed,” then “civilian called the cops” I killed a civilian across the street through the vase, the wall, and the parked car. Someone else outside saw. Needless to say, I still love that pistol. Boom.
Love how such a list on paper would be unbeareably long but you manage to put it all in one concise video that never feels like it drags and is always enjoyable from start to finish
i remember back when they first time added almost every smgs and pistols akimbo to the game. Im just accidently buy akimbo stryk 18c and kinda regret it( back when im poor ingame) then im trying to build around it and when i realized how powerhouse it is in matches
I mainly persisted with using the Contractors purely for the aesthetic value and reasonable performance. There’s just something about John Wick’s firearms that offers them their own place. White Streak always looked valuable to me, but the Akimbo Stryk I never considered. Yet again, gonna have to redo a build to try these. I’m gonna guess Specials are up next, cause BOOM if so.
The Contractor, otherwise known as the HK P30L, is also animated with a tilting barrel, a neat touch only really shared with a handful of other tilting barrel pistols in the game like the Chimano Compact. Amusingly, John Wick also uses a Glock 26 as his backup pistol in both the first and second film.
When I first got around to Payday 2 again just a month ago, I realized how effective armor piercing weapons are and so I instantly fell in love with the sniper rifles and the Five-SeveN. Seriously, the thing is so fun to use with all pistol skills when unloading into a Dozer's face. With the damage boosting pistol skills and attachments, the thing can kill the Black Dozer on Overkill with just a handful of shots to the face sometimes with only one if the face plate and visor are gone

I will always use the castigo revolvers. I fell in love with those revolvers the moment I used them and anytime I want to use pistols, those are my go to
I was confused about why the low damage pistols were so low then I realized that maybe it's just me that had a lot of fun clicking really fast on heads. I just find the berneti9 and Gruber the best pistols and ignore the rest except for the ap and luger when needed.
oh boy does the 5.7 ap bring back memories. the first pistol I actually bought, and then got a skin for it(the santiago one). and it stayed in my standard load out ever since. as well as my higly modified car 4.
Wow, as someone that's been away from the game for a bit seeing the gruber, crosskill guard, and bernetti 9 at the bottom (beneath even the Chimano 88 of all things) surprised the hell out of me, as did seeing the baby deagle at the top Deagle being top 5 never changes though
The main advantage of the Bernetti 9 and Gruber Kurz is the ridiculous 34 concealment stat they can both reach with their respective +3 boosts and a combination of Optical Illusions Aced and a -2 or lower suppressor. This can be used to make crit or dodge builds for bulkier primaries with only the basic version of Low Blow and/or Sneaky Bastard, saving valuable skill points for other stats, especially if you're trying to run a weapon you can barely squeeze to 21 Concealment for the fun of it. Technically speaking, out of the two, the Bernetti seems to be better, but the Gruber Kurz has an unlock level of 0, and as such can be very helpful for doing an initial stealth run or two after going Infamous. They both, of course, have that little bit of utility for being paired with weapons that otherwise wouldn't be viable for low detection risk setups.
I was really expecting my favorite sidearm to be lower, same as my favorite shotgun. However, I’m happy to see the Mauser C96, also make it to the tenth spot. It’s something else I’m also biased towards.
I like the Deagles the most. When I was playing as a newbie I had found a skin that had a small, tropical touch to them and I was like "Oh hell yeah!" My friends and I never go higher then like overkill or very hard and they're usually more then enough to take down a threat. Especially a swat member with just 1 shot.
@@luxthewriter the 5/7 is fun, but i personally just use up the ammo way too fast so its not viable (im on console, aiming is light pain, and you cant snap to shield units like you can with normal units when you aim down sights)
My favorites are probably either the white streak or deagle for damage, crosskill guard for stealth/concealment, bernetti 9/interceptor 45 for general combat, and broomstick as a meme/ extra rifle
I find it hilarious that the 5/7 deals the same amount of damage as the Deagle, except you put some of the abilities found from a sniper into it despite being a far lower caliber. Nice balancing OVK
50. AE isnt a piercing round, while it will tear through kevlar, metal will easily stop it. 5.7 is a piercing round, that can rip through certain metals.

ever since Escape From Tarkov added the FN 5-7 I have fallen in love with it, there really is something to be said about penetrating armor in such few rounds
In stealth, damage and whatnot doesn't matter so I always deck my guns out in chrome and/or wood, and only use irons. It just feels so much cleaner and more fun than looking at stats that don't matter to me.
Haha I find crits on the Thanatos useless. It’s already a one shot headshot kill on every enemy except dozers. Seems extremely limiting when other weapons do it better and have better ammo pick up
@@b33croft True. Dodge Thanatos is slept on though. One of my favorite builds. You can always put the extra points into helping the Kurz not be as useless and a decent secondary.
Dodge Thanatos is fun but remember, you don’t need high concealment to get good dodge with rogue. You still get 50 dodge regardless of what weapons or detection you have as long as you use the suit for armor

Ah just made a pistol crit dodge build with the #1 and #2 ranked weapons in this video about a week ago. Absolutely beautiful. Fast swaps from dozer killer to shield killer.
I'm surprised the Peacemaker made it so high up on the list. Sure, it might have good stats, but that reload speed is so bad it makes the reload speed you complained about for the Akimbo Broomsticks seem brisk. Also, boom.
I've always just assumed the Bernetti-9 is the only one worth using for years and I honestly don't even know where I got that info from. The relatively high accuracy and inherent concealment bonus always made me favour the weapon in stealth, but to be fair literally any pistol is fine in stealth so long as you can silence it.
Bronco is always my go to secondary just for taking out snipers. It's scary how accurate it can be on big open maps like White Xmas and Train Heist also boom
When I was first starting out the game, the 5/7 AP was my go-to secondary since shields gave me more issue than even Dozers, so being able to quickly swap to it and pop the shield carrier through his shield rather than attempt to shield surf gives it a special place in my heart That, and it also makes certain stealth missions much easier with careful aim; being able to wallbang on Nightclub makes getting that easy stealth bonus even easier
One important note about the Gruber Kurz and the Bernetti 9, they are the only weapons in the game that are able to reach 34 concealment, making them very helpful to get the less concealable melee, armor, and weapons into builds utilizing the Sneaky Bastard and Low Blow skills.
@@b33croft Sure, but it's always fun to do on lower difficulties where having those boosts with unconcealable weapons won't get you killed. Crits on weapons like the minigun or thanatos are fun.
There are some problems with this list, but the biggest three are about the Bronco, the Berenni 9 and the Peacemaker. You could debate the Bronco is the best revolver in the game, at least in its single form, due to versatility. You can mod it to either be a long-range cannon, similar to most revolvers, or reach a 33 Concealment point with the Concealment Boost. The closes revolver that can reach is the Parabellum, with 32. This makes the Bronco a reliable secondary for both loadouts that require a powerful gun at the secondary slot, like dual SMG and dual pistols, or with a low concealment weapon and Low Blow crits, like the Falcon or the dumb minigun crit build. The Berenni has a similar niche, but it's mostly a niche inside it. While it is a bad pistol, where it shines is that you can make it 34 concealment with the right mods and skills. This is crucial for certain builds, especially the ones that abuse crits on the primary flamethrower (gmmicky at best and terrible at worst) and the RPK LMG (a pretty decent build). This niche makes me think it's better than the other low damage pistols, but even then it doesn't make it a great weapon magically. It's second fiddle. The Peacemaker is... somewhat a mess. While most of its stats allow it to be one of the best revolver, the painfully long reload makes it unreliable to use as a backup weapon. I love it for its style alone, but objectively it's the worst revolver and on the lower end of the Pistols.
Akimbo strykes and white streak's like my fav combo to run on my pistol build. Akimbo Leo and parabelum or deagle are also fun, such a shame there's no room for revolvers in this build, i just don't like them here and only use the bronco in some of my builds for the concealment (but yeah, for also it being really good, i just have more fun with pistols than revolvers)
Took awhile but this vid was worth the wait! Might I suggest special weapons next? I believe it's the last category you've got to do, I could be wrong though.
BOOM! I only recently learned that the 5/7 AP can penetrate shield, that info alone perfected my loud build. Close to 200 hours in, Infamy 3. M60 for anything that is not a shield, with a bipod you even can take down snipers pretty easily, and the 5/7 for shielded guys, they were such a pain to deal with before. Captain Winters and his crew could have ruined runs for me, if he ever showed up. Thankfully he only did so once in my time of play and on that particular Heist, Firestarter Day 1, I was rocking the Mosin and a P90, he didn't have as much fun as I was having.

Also Fun Fact about the Gruber Kurtz it can reach 34 concealment with a suppresor, concealment boost (+3) and silencer skills. This makes it much more useful as a stealth pistol.
@@b33croft For me, the Parabellum does actually compliment a saw build quite well (specifically a saw build for stuff like Transport and Bank heists). It definitely is a bit above the revolvers for me since it can make use of gun nut basic and has a pretty good reload time. Definitely lives up to it's IRL counterpart's legacy and then some.
My favorite pistol is between the STRYK 18c because I can turn that into a total meme gun with a stock, stendo mags, and reflex to have a mini Vulcan mini gun, and the M1911 with nothing on it, because I’m a proud ‘murican and my one and only god is John Browning

nice video man. when I use a dodge build, I like using the beretta 9's because I feel like john woo and I like the M92 irl. The 5/7 seems like a match made in heaven for me since I hate shields but the ammo is so so so rare and my aim is highly questionable.
Funny thing about the first two guns is the “gruber Kurz” is supposedly named after Hans gruber but the first pistol was actually the gun he used in the movie. Really weird choice.
I’m still sorta new to Payday 2 but one of my favorite loadouts is purple snub nosed Akimbo Broncos, and another singular snub nosed purple Bronco secondary.
I'm sorry, but your rankings on the revolvers (15, 14, 13 and 12) are just terrible, you clearly just analized the stats that the game shows and went with it. Bronco is the most customizable of all and with the best stats overall, it's the only one where you can equip sights. Castigo is kinda The same as bronco but less customization in favor of style Mathever is terrible, the only good thing being the fact that you can equip laser in it Peacemaker the best of these 4? No way, have you ever used that gun? It has one of the worst reloads in the game, the worst pistol reload by far, it's a meme weapon.
I agree. Also putting the bernetti 9 at number 52 is criminal as that pistol has the highest possible concealment in the game making it one of the best weapons to take to a stealth heist. He seems to just be looking at the stats and not how the weapons behave in game.

Wow, the STYRK rated surprisingly high! Usually people complain about it, and I've never understood why, it's been my goto since 2013 (to say nothing of the akimbo taking first place! I like to max out stability and use it as a laser beam >:)

The Crosskill Guard is easily top 10 once you equip Duke's Glimmer. Despite being the same gun, you can't turn down the beauty of gold.

One important note about the Gruber Kurz and the Bernetti 9, they are the only weapons in the game that are able to reach 34 concealment, making them very helpful to get the less concealable melee, armor, and weapons into builds utilizing the Sneaky Bastard and Low Blow skills.

@@b33croft Sure, but it's always fun to do on lower difficulties where having those boosts with unconcealable weapons won't get you killed. Crits on weapons like the minigun or thanatos are fun.

There are some problems with this list, but the biggest three are about the Bronco, the Berenni 9 and the Peacemaker.
You could debate the Bronco is the best revolver in the game, at least in its single form, due to versatility. You can mod it to either be a long-range cannon, similar to most revolvers, or reach a 33 Concealment point with the Concealment Boost. The closes revolver that can reach is the Parabellum, with 32. This makes the Bronco a reliable secondary for both loadouts that require a powerful gun at the secondary slot, like dual SMG and dual pistols, or with a low concealment weapon and Low Blow crits, like the Falcon or the dumb minigun crit build.
The Berenni has a similar niche, but it's mostly a niche inside it. While it is a bad pistol, where it shines is that you can make it 34 concealment with the right mods and skills. This is crucial for certain builds, especially the ones that abuse crits on the primary flamethrower (gmmicky at best and terrible at worst) and the RPK LMG (a pretty decent build). This niche makes me think it's better than the other low damage pistols, but even then it doesn't make it a great weapon magically. It's second fiddle.
The Peacemaker is... somewhat a mess. While most of its stats allow it to be one of the best revolver, the painfully long reload makes it unreliable to use as a backup weapon. I love it for its style alone, but objectively it's the worst revolver and on the lower end of the Pistols.

Akimbo strykes and white streak's like my fav combo to run on my pistol build. Akimbo Leo and parabelum or deagle are also fun, such a shame there's no room for revolvers in this build, i just don't like them here and only use the bronco in some of my builds for the concealment (but yeah, for also it being really good, i just have more fun with pistols than revolvers)

I use the Akimbo Bernettis for my dodge/crit build. Idk the Beretta just feels crisp to me, and always lets me stay in the ammo positives

I only recently learned that the 5/7 AP can penetrate shield, that info alone perfected my loud build.
Close to 200 hours in, Infamy 3.
M60 for anything that is not a shield, with a bipod you even can take down snipers pretty easily, and the 5/7 for shielded guys, they were such a pain to deal with before. Captain Winters and his crew could have ruined runs for me, if he ever showed up. Thankfully he only did so once in my time of play and on that particular Heist, Firestarter Day 1, I was rocking the Mosin and a P90, he didn't have as much fun as I was having.

@@b33croft For me, the Parabellum does actually compliment a saw build quite well (specifically a saw build for stuff like Transport and Bank heists). It definitely is a bit above the revolvers for me since it can make use of gun nut basic and has a pretty good reload time. Definitely lives up to it's IRL counterpart's legacy and then some.

nice video man. when I use a dodge build, I like using the beretta 9's because I feel like john woo and I like the M92 irl. The 5/7 seems like a match made in heaven for me since I hate shields but the ammo is so so so rare and my aim is highly questionable.

I’m still sorta new to Payday 2 but one of my favorite loadouts is purple snub nosed Akimbo Broncos, and another singular snub nosed purple Bronco secondary.

I'm sorry, but your rankings on the revolvers (15, 14, 13 and 12) are just terrible, you clearly just analized the stats that the game shows and went with it.
Bronco is the most customizable of all and with the best stats overall, it's the only one where you can equip sights. Castigo is kinda The same as bronco but less customization in favor of style
Mathever is terrible, the only good thing being the fact that you can equip laser in it
Peacemaker the best of these 4? No way, have you ever used that gun? It has one of the worst reloads in the game, the worst pistol reload by far, it's a meme weapon.
I agree. Also putting the bernetti 9 at number 52 is criminal as that pistol has the highest possible concealment in the game making it one of the best weapons to take to a stealth heist. He seems to just be looking at the stats and not how the weapons behave in game.
