  • Recordings taken place in various parts across New Orleans. Chef Menteur Highway & Desire Road; Downtown-Tulane Avenue; Broad Street & Washington Avenue; and St. Charles Avenue & Claibourne Avenue.
    Not much diversity in ⚜️NORTA's bus fleet bedside DE60LFRs and Orion VII 'Next Gens' but still a great experience in the Cajun paradise.

    I love NORTA, I am a fan from Vancouver Island, Canada. NORTA is awesome because it runs 24/7 service, which is rather rare, and it also has a beautiful heritage streetcar system, that is actually a functional transportation corridor, unlike most heritage streetcars that are only for show.

      Try San Francisco's Municipal Railway F Market & Wharves streetcar line. Heritage & it's yes a viable local functioning route for tourists & commuters to work & school.

    Whenever I visit New Orleans riding the streetcars is my #1 priority of a touristy thing to do. However I've ridden @ least 2 of the bus routes before. Forgot the route number though the other was the old Canal line before it became a streetcar again. Looks like despite all the hurricanes & flooding there the old reliable Orions are still faithfully plugging away.

      That's the one thing I regret not doing more of. I was only here for one day so it was get as much as I can; also, a severe thunderstorm halted any recording opportunities for about an hour but I would to make that my primary focus to record the streetcars if or whenever I head back down NOLA

      @@MJofLakelandX Definitely understandable. It can be very weather extreme there I've had similar experiences visiting in the past myself. Again New Orleans one of my favorite destinations & I experience several different ones every time!

    I live in nola in a sailboat and i rode the bus system for the first 1.5 years i stayed here.
    Do you think we could team up and make videos asking people on the bus about their the bus routes/lifestyle of public transit riders, or just moderating a large scale friendly discussions about important issues while riding on the bus around town?

    I noticed NORTA has 60 foot New Flyer artics. Any chances of them acquiring the 40 New Flyers once Orion which too is now too out of business, replacing them in the future?

    • @MJofLakelandX
      @MJofLakelandX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be interesting but, unfortunately, I'm note a native to NOLA so have no input on which would be replaced by what.

      @@MJofLakelandX Just wondering thanks. I collect replica model buses & someone produced one in NORTA scheme for me. As to why I was inquiring. Never saw a 40 foot xcelseor there in my travels. Then too consider it a tribute to same then. Noticed they just acquired a few 35 foot models though the scheme is different from the 60 foot artics in traditional NORTA scheme.

      Unfortunately, I think there is no other alternative beside a cab or Uber/Lyft. I've nearly missed it that very night as I was heading on a flight to ATL the next morning.
