    You can put some blocks or bricks or wood around the feeder so they can step up and reach the feeder... until they get bigger.

    Looks like an absolutely awesome product and looks great too! However, 2-300 bucks is a little steep for a feeder in my opinion. You pay for quality, but I feel there are other great options for much less. Love the video!

      I have the single post and has held up in the high winds of NC very well with 0 issues. Also I have 0 issues with loss of food.

    You guys have great craftsmanship with your coops. Your videos are also entertaining and educational. I have looked into this feeder in the past. I think it's a great idea. If they made this so that the ports go in and down more I would so get one. I have goats and I like the design of this feeder better than the one I have only thing I like better about the one I have is that the pipe ports go in then down deeper where goats can't stick there faces in and lick the food out. Please Coopworx make the ports go down farther and I'm in!!

    I love the idea of the feeder . I bought one, but all the food lands out on the floor below it

    Got an idea for you to adjust your chicken feed or take a shovel and dig out a dip 3 to 4 inches and then install your post which will lower your feeder and then you can adjust it to height when they get older just a thought like your video. Great product.

    I got the waterer and the feeder. Best purchase I have made for our chickens. took a few days for them to get used to the waterer but was not a problem.

      Maybe they will do a video on the chickens using the feeder when they get tall enough to reach it. Pretty soon I’m sure. 😊❤️

    How’s the coopworx waterer? It seems like product reviews only cover the feeder opposed to the waterer.

    We just tried a very well-rated system. Our garbage can cut the holes, and installed the ports that look exactly like this one. What I liked is it has covers that you can put in at night to hopefully keep mice and rats out. Imagine my disappointment when after only a couple hours there was feed all over the ground all the way around. It is as if they just stuck their heads in and drug out all the feed. Is there ANY feeder that does not allow the chickens to scatter the feed? We've learned so much watching your channel and appreciate all your hard work to bring us good content.

      I saw a video where they took a five gallon bucket drilled a 7/8 hole in the bottom
      Then they put a lag bolt with an eye hook on the top and put it through the hole
      On the other end which is threaded they put a small block of wood with some nuts to secure it.
      They hung the bucket at a height where the chickens could peck at the block of wood
      When they do that a small amount of feed comes out the hole
      So not only does it feed them
      It makes them work for the food
      So if the chickens are in the run a lot it gives them something to do and you don’t end up with a lot of wasted feed on the ground.
      Also a mouse is gonna have to jump pretty high and pretty often to get the feed out of the bucket.

    I understand you wouldn't want to use this with fermented feed directly. Does it make sense to leave this for free feeding alongside a trough feeder for a small amount of fermented?

      @CarolinaCoopsVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It totally does. the food is protected, so there's no harm in giving your chickens choices of feed. Thanks for your comment

    In Florida, moisture is a daily issue, how does this do with not letting the food get damp and mold up?

    • @CarolinaCoopsVideos
      @CarolinaCoopsVideos  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a great question. The design and the thick walls keep the food dry even in humid conditions.

    Will that single leg feeder be stable enough down here in the sand hills of SC. We live in Aiken and the ground is very sandy.

    • @CarolinaCoopsVideos

      We would recommend the feeder with the four legs. That would probably work best for you.

    Do you think that feeder would work for silkies and bantams?

    • @CarolinaCoopsVideos
      @CarolinaCoopsVideos  ปีที่แล้ว

      you could add something to the bottom for the bantams to hop up on to get to the feed. However, if what they are eating from now, is basically floor level or low to the ground, it might be hard to have them switch to this. Not impossible, but we can't say with confidence that if you have only bantams that this will definitely work for you.
