Dennis , I agree with your comment but I don't think it applies to Tommy cooper, theres a very famous interview where he states he would never put anything blue or suggestive in his act because he wanted families to enjoy it . He never did anything racist or homophobic , love him or hate him Tim vine does similar things with props , I think this sort of humour was overtaken by alternative comedy but this is still hilarious.
There is another line in this sketch, at the end. Something along the line of - ''If he says he didn't do it, he didn't do it. He's no grass and even if he was (a grass), he wouldn't tell.'' Superb sketch.
