- So, this is the first video I ever made.
Gonna be honest, this video is pretty old and not of the quality standard I would create now. I've gotten much better at my art and know a lot more about video creation than I did. That said, this vid still holds a special place in my heart, and I feel it's only right to upload it here as my first.
Sorry if you came here expecting just a tutorial video, or anything other than a video project for school. Then again, you probably don't care. I just hope this was entertaining in the slightest.

By the way y'all, I know some ad blockers might still work. I personally use an ad blocker while watching in a private window, since trying to watch videos in a non-private window stopped working after a while. That said, reminder that this was made over a year ago, so some stuff may be outdated, and I apologize for that.

TH-cam allows ad blockers again (from my experience)
TH-cam on Firefox with uBlock Origin on Windows 7, 10, and 11 works like a charm for me
Addgard, the add blocker, works great. No incognito needed.
I use Vivaldy but I know it works with Chrome and Opera.
When in doubt, ublock origin.
I do the same thing on my tv where i exit out the video and open it again hoping i dont get an ad again
Dude, in my tv I skip an ad in half a second, it's so easy on tv
As soon as you get an ad pause move up to the ( ! ) and click it
Scroll down to the "stop seeing this ad" and click it, with some practice, you will never find ads annoying ever again

If your tv has a button to go directly to streaming services (ie nexflix), you can just press that button and then the back button when the app’s loading screen is done

The "Block Ad" thing hasn't worked for me in years 😭😭 They disabled that for me because i kept spam blocking every ad i came across lmaooo

TH-cam recommended absolutely cooking with these smaller channel video recommendations. Keep it up man!
My favorite method is just clicking a random video that is suggested, and then immediately press ←(Previous Page) button google has to go back to the video.
I have one of those mouses which has buttons for backwards and forwards and whenever I get an ad I just hit the back key and forward key in quick succession and then the ad just kinda forgets to play
i use a similar method on my apple tv, i press the video i want to watch, press the back button if theres an ad, and then repeat step 1 and 2 until the video loads without the ad
on my tablet if i click on shorts then back immediately and the ad just gets deleted

The irony of youtube recommending techniques to skip the ads on its platform

back in the old days, they were used for pop up ads at the bottom of the video. In the present day, you watch an ad for a whopping 5 ads in 1 for unskippable 10 second ads. Those were 50 seconds.

This can work against you taking in mind what youtube uses ads for, as only the first second is enough to shove a brand's name down your throat (which is why most ads have the brand's name shown immediately, they dont care about wasting your time).
I'd recommend turning the volume down and looking away when doing the "close video" method, specially on tv youtube and mobile.
None of these methods are necessary in pc as most adblockers bypass youtube's detection in less than a day. You can get most of yt premium for free by using third party apps, watch youtube from your mobile browser so you can use adblockers and NEVER install the youtube app on pc as it completely blocks adblockers.

Always wondered why no one talks about this cool ad skip. I've been using the "stop seeing this ad" button on my PS4 TH-cam and can do it in less than a second. However, nowadays almost half the ads I find are unskipable. So I just click on and off the video over and over lol.
I used the block ad feature on an especially cringe Updoc ad, it's good to know this tech has further utility.
Also, I found this channel through your other video and I'm so glad I did.
i actually found another way that i found on tv, you pause, click on the "i" in the circle, select the last "stop showing this ad", and then click on "return to video"

another method that i do wll the time is if you're on mobile (yes mobile only) you can tap shorts when you get an ad, look at the short for 5-15 seconds, then youtube thinks you watched the ad

This is a pretty neat video, and I was not aware you could do this, so good on you for knowing this for so long.
I actually know of another bug where if a Video has timestamps, you can simply press CTRL+the right key to skip the ad (this is supposed to just be a simple keyboard shortcut to bring you onto a certain section). Now the catch with this is that you need timestamps (or a sponser if you're using sponserblock as sponserblock segments have the same functionality) but it's still good to know about.

I wish I could block entire advertisers, cause some companies have VERY obnoxious ads that I'm not interested in whatsoever.
I haven't downloaded tictac or lemu or whatever after the billionth ad TH-cam's shown me. Can't they assume I'm never going to and focus their efforts somewhere else?

There actually used to be a glitch where if you click on a short and then go back to the video, the ad would disappear, but it was patched I think
if you're on opera you can enter picture in picture and drag the time bar to the end of the ad

You could also put the video in a miniplayer, and use the “10 seconds forward” button to skip a majority of a 15 second ad. Though, it just restarts an ad shorter than 10 seconds,
Only recommending this to me because they don't let you do that anymore. Good play, TH-cam.
On tv you can hit the information button, and if it lets you report the ad, you can do that to skip to the video. but there are still some ads that you cannot report

hell yeah, ive been personally using both these exploits myself for years and can confirm they have saved hours of my time
before i got my adblocker, i just went backward a page in the browser and then forward back to the video. just holding alt and pressing left then right, and it seems like it has the same effect as the one in this video, but it would only skip the ad at the very start of the video

ive tried to do this in the past multiple times and it never worked
also, for reloading ads on mobile, you can just click on the shorts tab
also, if there is a specific creator you dont like, or some kind of content, if you are on your phone you can press the 3 dots in the top and then read the menu the rest is obvius, on pc you do the exact same.

Ive only watched 2 ads in their entirety voluntarily, one of them was a guy with one hand selling knives from his kitchen which was pretty funny and the other one i forgot. I never saw them again because they weren't cringe so TH-cam didnt like them

method I used before geting uBlock: double right click the video, hover over Speed, hit x2, turns 5 second unskippable ads into 3 second things, still really inconvenient tho

I don't think they work on yt anymore. Also, it's much easier just to refresh the video to skip the ad. Or just watch the ad so the creator can get paid for his or her hard work from ad revenue.
I mean yeah, but with TH-cam trying everything it can do battle ad blockers, this is just a trick for those who don't have one. I don't even use this myself anymore, besides on mobile, since I just use an AdBlock Plus extension on Opera while watching TH-cam in a private window.

@@MyNameIsntMaxwell uBlock Origin still works for me, I highly recommend using it as it removes all the annoying ads and also improves your security. And you can always turn it off for specific websites if you still want to see the ads there.
