Not sure what was going on with the video, but seems like some issues during rendering. That's a bit frustrating, and title labeled it as a GSV160, when it's a GSV190 engine.
When I encounter an older Honda with those long screws, I replace them with 6m threaded rod and nuts. Makes it a lot easier to reassemble everything. Good video.
That's a really good idea actually. I will consider doing that in the future. Pick up some all thread and replace the bolts. I never thought of doing that, appreciate the idea!
I got a toro mower recycler about 13 years ago and it's from the mid to late 90's I believe with a brigss and stratton motor on it and when I got it it was a basket case the air filter was oil/gas soaked the motor was loose on the deck and needed a new belt for the self propel system so I fixed all of that and it's been running great since and starts on the first pull.
I had a pair of these, the second one was in far worse shape. This one in the video, I cleaned, polished it, and used it a half dozen times.. listed it, had a guy shoot me a text asking if I had two.. fixed the second up, he dropped off a third, wouldn't start well, wouldn't idle . Replaced the carb.. he loves these things. When he came to pick up and heard it actually IDLE.. his jaw hit the floor and his eyes got as wide as saucers and said, "It's never done that before!" These things really are indestructible! When the garbage find Craftsman I have finally dies, or I get sick of the Tecumseh engine, I'll likely just get myself a Toro with electric start. Thank you for watching, and commenting 🙏🤜🤛🍻
I have an older Toro recycler with a Tecumseh. People love to hate those engines for some reason. The oil circulating method in those is better than other makes, similar to a car's oil pump. Mine is a beast, though I prefer the later personal pace drive system.
@@billdeblaey6078 the Tecumseh engine has a few failings, just in the carb design alone, as they're very difficult to service when they go bad, and usually just require replacement.. and they are also less resilient than Briggs for abuse. Such as throwing rods.. and their OHV engines are LOUD 🤣
Thank you so much! I actually use PineSol :) I get the Mandarin Orange one, cuz I really like the smell of oranges. Lately I've been experimenting with SuperClean degreaser, and another degreaser (highly diluted) and it has been working spectacular in the cleaner. But smells like death's armpit!
Blade was perfect, I removed it and sharpened it. The crank was straight, and there was no metal in the oil. This mower is long ago sold now. I must have cut my lawn about a half dozen times with it before I put it up for sale. Great mowers!
Aaahahahah!!! So true.. I have a second one, thought similar repair, so wasn't gonna bother with a video .. Until I tried to spray start. Fuel... Spark.. compression.. but no ignition. Oh dear, that worries me! Flippers 🤣

I like your method connecting to Rope together pretty nice idea
Thank you 😊 It seemed like the less fuss way to pull rope thru the little holes. Kinda like plastic welding, only with rope lol
I get those big measuring cups from the dollar store for the oil changes. Works pretty good.
Great video as always
Thank you! Yeah, I should pick up a couple of those measuring cups for oil, the large one is a little much for such little oil

Great channel, amazing camera work. Try adding oz pine Sol to ultra sonic solution

Check blade is not damaged crank.bent or metal in oil

Never trust a flipper 😊
