Not dumb at all. I ended up doing something similar to this guy, th-cam.com/video/0sfVyh2cVyE/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Matthewn7. I would however highly recommend using the cable from Innovative Sportsman as it is much smoother and doesn't cut into the tubing, www.innovativesportsman.com/store/p118/10%27_Rudder_Motor_Spectra_Cord.html#/
Hey Andy, I have a homemade cart that I use, the Kayak stores on the top and then there is a bottom shelf that I put all my other kayaking / fishing items including the motor and battery. I would not recommend storing the motor on the kayak longterm. I typically remove anything heavy from the kayak while storing for any period of time. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for doing this. The middle bolts on mine went further in. Did it do the same on yours?
This was very helpful. Thank you.
Absolutely, thanks for watching!
It's actually a 5mm Allen. 3/16 will work but could strip it.
Thank you for the correction!
He didn't install the clip that holds the locking rod in place.
Just bought this with just trolling motor. What bracket do I need to install to bow?

This may sound like a dumb question but how do you deploy and stow the motor while you're on the water?

Is it possible to turn the bracket 360°?
How do you store it when not in use? Keep it on the kayak ?
