Where I live - DoorDash is SUPER saturated. You can't even schedule and the odd random time that you see a dash now if you're looking - you will go the entire dash without seeing even one offer. Uber/UberEats is MUCH better most of the time and pays significantly more than food delivery for Shop & Pay orders. We do see the stupid orders, too, though. The other day I saw a Costco shop & pay for 27 items for $4.37!! I didn't even look at the mileage because the audacity of $4.37 for 27 items threw me for a loop! LOL Heather xo

Not too many driver. The problem is that they lower the pay so you are not accepting more order . You are getting the same amount of order but lower pay

Here’s my take on what happened to gig work, in my opinion and situation. I started in 2020 with Instacart and later Uber Eats and made good money. It was amazing. I think it was when ppl were just not getting out because of the pandemic. As ppl started getting out more, I got WAY less orders. I picked up DD and given only very low pay orders. When the economy got at its lowest, the whole gig thing just went completely downhill. I finally just gave it up because it literally was a waste of time. I think ppl were just getting out and getting their own food along with the fact that ppl quit spending as much in general. I know I did too! I really miss how it was in 2020/ 2021…. It was fun and I made money.

A $4 dollar offer for 14 miles.. I be getting offers delivering to the next COUNTY , 20 to 22 miles for 5 and 6 bucks..

In my area it's usually pretty slow in the mornings (8-11), if I work that shift I sometimes wait 30 minutes, even more for an order (Doordash). Late afternoon - evening 3-9 is always busy, especially Thursday -Sunday. Lately I've been getting a lot of $2-$4 orders (and I'm on Silver status!). The $2 ones are just plain, an insult because that is just Doordash base pay/no tip, I wouldn't do those even if it were 2 blocks away.
Random offers of $2, $3, $4 should NOT exist. It's just not worth anyone's time; these orders can only be fulfilled when there are 2 or 3 orders picking up at the same place. Otherwise the platform need to charge extra for small orders. I have so much respect for you guys putting in the sweat and tears delivering. The only way I see how the platform can make this profitable for drivers is setting HIGHER order minimums like $50 or up, this way the restaurant can pay more for these orders for the drivers to deliver. Honestly even the $8 offers don't seem attractive at all.

Huge decline in my area. I remember making$70 to $90 daily on UE but now, it's been cut in half. DD, cherry level and the wait time between orders is ridiculous
Spark has been my savior. Apart from that the last month has sucked.

I'm a shift manager at Wendy's, then I drive for Uber eats in my spare time, while going to school. Sometimes I can end up waiting a few hours for an order. I live in Grand Forks ND
I hate how these restaurants will ask you to confirm the order but never look when you swipe on your phone.
Also can we talk about how many of these places move so slow and the customer service in many restaurants are so bad.
The restaurants shouldn’t ask drivers Vera to swipe bc you don’t work for them. Drivers don’t watch the cooks on the kitchen and tell the servers what to do and Vice versa - No restaurants should try to mandate that you confirm ANYTHING.
@@MP-bi9gd exactly but unfortunately a lot of drivers steal food for themselves and these restaurants won’t hand you the food until you confirm it. It’s so frustrating
Even worse for me. I often sit for 20 or 30 minutes with no offers and run three apps. It's the slowest it's ever been for sure
I wish they had these gig apps back in 2008. Could have did ubereats whenever my job gave me low hours.

I do lunches in my area, typically Thursdays through Sundays 10:30 to 2 or 3 pm . I would like to say I have noticed a slowdown, could be possible. then again, I typically deliver on my 125 CC motor scooter, so I am limited by weather and we have had more than typical rainl lately. AR aside, yeah I have noticed a bit of a decline in orders ..even on forecasted busy periods (three or better on earnings trends) I can go 30 to 40 minutes between offers where just a few weeks ago , I was getting offers every few minutes.. were they offers worth taking, no, but the volume was there.
Illegals in my area have destroyed it. I found out that most of them have 4 phones each with multiple bogus accounts.
If the tier program starts in your area this will limit a lot of the scammers.
They come into this country illegally and illegally hijack these gig apps with multiple accounts. On a busy hours, you'll see over 15 to 20 of them or more in one area crowding the market

None can speak English I’m wondering if they owe someone money and they are working it off. They arrive in a car with 5 or more then one gets an order and leaves in a car different than they arrived in. Very well orchestrated

Because everyone is like " i make so much money doing uber/eats" is the reason why everyone is signing up. Little are those people thinking, but that means more people getting in the same line as you so less orders for everyone.
There was an update just about 2 weeks ago. Ever since then. Almost every order is $2. And I’m in Las Vegas. I’m not delivering no food to the strip for $2 😂
I mostly do DD and I’m trying to keep my ability to schedule alive. So yesterday I took every offer. Mostly long miles and no tips. But the first order I get is usually a good one. $37.75 for 20 miles with three drops from Pet Smart. Took less than one hour. The last order is also mostly a good order. Yesterday 5.2 miles $19.50. I went home after that. I was really tired and hungry.
It was dead at the new year, but surprisingly in the last 2 months UE has been doing well here in Southern California
Today, on Doordash, we experienced a decline in orders in the Phoenix southeast suburbs. We went from 50% acceptances to 30-35%. We basically drove around. Doordash is sending us 1/2 dollars to miles. We’ll see how Wednesday goes. Sitting is crazy, but the 12 miles $5 is a huge no. Good luck!🍀
Today was my worst day ever doing Uber eats. I should’ve quit hours before that, but I kept on trying to see if a better order would come over. But I finally got to see an order come over that, I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was so bad. $2.20 for two deliveries going like 5 miles. So you’re getting paid $1.10 for each order. I don’t know how they get away with that.
today was terrible for doordash 2 hours with nothing out of 6 hours and didnt even make $50

You can turn off shop order offers in your settings.
Listen, it don't matter if you get orders back to back and likr you'vr just killed a $30 order in an hr. The algorithm will cool you off. So, that $20 you just made in half hr will then end up being $10/hr after youve been sitting there for an hr getting no orders.
I too have noticed a decline in orders on dd and ue. This is why I've been 99% spark. I have no complaints with spark. It's been a blessing 🙌🏽 🙏🏾

It’s saturated everywhere with these gig apps people doing this full time when it was designed as a side hustle. I’m in LA California it’s bad.. only thing is booming big time here is rideshare. Thank god I got a full time job to depend on than these apps..
Hi Sarah, it’s Kevin, I have been experiencing the same exact thing. It has been super super slow. Every order that’s coming in on Uber eats is either $2.10 or three dollars, non-tip orders, I was told by several Dashers that I ran into that , during the summer it’s considered the off-season because the kids are out of school and the parents cook so it’s extremely extremely slow like a turtle for example I will go out for two hours and make four dollars. It’s awful. I went out for an hour today. I did not get an offer not even one offer came in 60 minutes on Uber eats. It was totally dead. Everybody apparently was going out to Eat, we just have to wait till this fall it should pick up. I hope I don’t take those little orders either I cherry pick so I might make $10 in three hours if I’m lucky it’s horrible.
Lately, two of every three offers I get on ubereats has been a shop and pay at Costco. What is with the ubereats love affair with Costco?
I hate shopping there. The checkout process makes it unbearable. Most of the orders are low pay and really high mileage.

I drive Uber and turned off the Uber Eats option as the offers are WAY TOO LOW. I'm not driving for 30 minutes for $5.
It is so so freaking slow the past few weeks . Someday I'm lucky to get couple orders . Been getting bunch of $2-$4 orders , what a waste of time . Today , sat for 3 hours with one $2 request , very depressing !

For context you have to say where you drive. Each area is different, like say, $4 for 15 miles might be okay in Buttee, Oklahoma or some backwoods town but not in Oregon where the cost of living is through the roof. I can't opine in areas that I don't know
Hello! thanks for sharing dear, feeling less alone in this ! As a mama myself...so has you or any other drivers had experience with UE: the customer required delivery in hand, and then you do so, (so no picture taken) , to then receiveing and email from UE saying: we got a notification the client said he did Not get is delivery?! And so do not do it again its consider Fraud, but by me!?! How to prevent that? As you know you want to make the delivery fast, and just follow their instructions...How to protect us?....
Same! But on weekends I make $300 to $400..Friday, Saturday and Sunday with all three apps
I haven’t done Uber eats since last year I’m get back out their I have to go out like 30 mins out to an area so yea it’s been like that since last year I’m used to it I have a job my hours are slow at this point you have to do what you have to do
It's slow in most areas because of the economy. Not many talk about it but we're in a recession. Ordering food is not a priority when you have to pay rent.
I'm in the Seminole area used to be able to make 100-150 easy a day between lunch and dinner and even more on the weekends ... havnt used it in awhile came back and ill sit in the malls for 20-30 mins before even geting an offer that i basically have to take to make some sort of money idk if its saturation or what but its awful now
It's crappy in Tampa I know that's a different market but I'm hoping when school goes back in it'll pick up less drivers
i dont think 7 to 12 minutes is to long to wait I do see many do 5 to 6 hours at a time some go out twice a day and they have like a Walmart spark for something different

Doordash kick me out of the app for not updating my tax documents on time. So I only do UE but now I also download the Lyft app and set it to send me pick ups around the area that I normally like to do deliveries. If UE is slow I get some ride share to make up for the slow food delivery times. I don't make that much but I'm still averaging between 17 and 20 per hour. Only do it as an extra income. I can't imagine how frustrated it might be for those who still have the gig apps as their main income.
I went to KFC for $10....Told them my order. They said it's ready soon. I waited 20 minutes then they said someone else took your oder. While I waited I had a new trip pop up I had to decline for $30 😡 Waist my time & gas & potential $30. I black listed this specific KFC
I’m in the Los Angeles area and I’m noticing major declines in orders offered. You could sit in a busy area and get nothing for 15 mins. That’s NOT typical for this area and I’ve been doing this since 2018. So yeah, I think over saturation is the main issue. Way too many drivers on the road.
Im in columbus, Ohio and I usually turn on Ubereats at home since there are restaurants all around me, and decline 15mi/3$ orders for around an hour before I get anything on average, or I get some immediately, take one, and then dont get anything for a while later..not sure if anyone else here is doing well
I'm in South Hernando County and I have been sitting for for 20+ minutes waiting. The last few weeks. I've also had a ton of "the orders already been picked up, and you're the third driver to come looking for it" crap.. it's getting bad

I came here because I too deliver with Uber eats, and the pay has just tanked. Bad. And wanted to see if others are experiencing the same thing. It was good back in October. Really good. 1500 a week. Just with Uber alone. Now DoorDash seems to be the place to be
I’m in Minneapolis and Uber has been terrible! I’ve been delivering for Uber for 5+ years and I’ve never seen it so consistently slow. Used to be able to make a living but no more 😢
My morning gig; teaching English to people in China. I’m independent, so I get the full amount. Varies between 5-10 sessions a week.
I get more Duolingo lessons in during the summertime. 😬
In my experience, the J months are slow (January, June, July). January is slow because of the holidays. June and July are slow because college students are getting out. Several graduation ceremonies going on, and people are out of town on vacations. It shouldn’t be a shocker for any gig worker.
Only exception to that is July 4. You'd be surprised how busy it is with people ordering food to have it delivered to their fireworks viewing camps.

Sara, I do DD/UE right next to you in the city of R--W. Both apps have been slow with very low paying offers. I work in the late evenings. The streets and restaurants are pretty much dead. Been doing this for almost 3 years. I’m a cherry picker too. 🍒 Eventually I will take something that makes sense; otherwise, it would make more sense to just go home. Glad to hear your hubby is on the mend.

Tiny pay for long waits in store to delivery areas where there are few restaurants or super slow restaurants with hyper-congested, dangerous parking areas. If we provide a service of convenience (that is, a luxury service) then we should be paid appropriately - not "beans" that barely cover the cost of running the vehicle.
They want us to basically do this job for free. No thanks - I'm with you.
In my market Uber is usually not worth taking. Most are low with really high miles.

I am hoping to do this now that I am off for the summer as a teacher but it has been slow.
Both DoorDash and Uber eats are super slow or if I do get an offer 90% if the time its high miles and hardly much of a tip so its not worth it. I do alot of round trips since its so dead so in the end the miles add up and it sucks. They need to pay us more on the base pay because with such low tips and high miles its not worth it so much of the time.
I Agree been with uber eats and DD for 5 years now and I never NEVER move my car for under $10 and it's super slow in Houston every day it's just $7 for 15 miles $4 for 7 miles and like $8 for 15 miles and it doesn't make sense obviously ppl I don't know why they order if they're not gonna tip I used to make $140 from 4pm to 9pm here in Houston but those days are over If I get 2 orders between those hours I am lucky no more orders only non tippers it's insane
And if you take the non tippers they will not tip customers think you got paid by uber already that's insane so that's why it's never good to take a non tip bc u will loose like 30 mins only for $4.00
Man I remember those good days here in Houston where it was a bunch of $14 for like 5 miles and $18 for 7 miles and $16 for 4 miles good very good orders now I get these only when it rains but I sure do miss those days and all of them Houses and leave at door
@@JonathanHernandez-de2nb I read all your comments. All I can say is go north to the woodlands or Conroe. It’s gotten a bit slower here in the past 2 weeks, but still pretty easy low mile orders.
I live In a college town so the Summers are SLow, 2 weeks ago I had doordash, uber eats& grubhub on Didn't receive 1 order off of DD nor grubhub the For the 3 hours I was on! And Uber eats was sending alot of Walmart Shopping orders for low Pay 🤦🏿
Brandon is a busy area you will get more junk orders than good orders. You should try going to Riverview, you will make more money. Just saying. Also when school is out it's slow time . Just got to waiiit out til the school year.

New people get bonuses for the first 100 deliveries. So they can keep the low orders. At one point, Uber Eats put double orders, adding a low offer with the high ones. They just brought down the average per mile and weren't worth it sometimes. Colleges are closed, so demand may go down for a while. Tourist areas usually stay busy, though. Stay near beaches and hotels.
Ubereats used to have a guaranteed hourly pay. People are likely to take low pay for high miles when that happens since rejecting offers can disqualify you.

Do at Least 1 delivery per month to keep account active, if go a month without delivering then they might deactivate account because they think you don't want to do the job anymore.
New to ue. Had a repeat offer and the second time the accept button said "Match". Clicked it to see wth that meant and of course it gave the order to me. Unassigned. Stupid app.

In orlando I can sit 20 minutes......but the second I start driving I get offers, I've tested this multiple times and both uber/doordash won't send orders unless I'm driving. I will drive in circles for 2 minutes in the parking lot and get orders but sitting it's a minimum 20 minutes
I just started doing uber eats . I've had the option to do uber x but for some reason I keep staying on uber eats. It seems alot slower then when it first came out. Im in the Florida area so it gets annoying when you gotta drive a hr out to be in an active area. lol Do you guys do uber x also? If so , any advice ? God bless 💯
its tough though when you really need to make some good money but the whole day is slow and you make less than $50
one can only imagine what will happen to these folks that haven't paid into SS or a retirement and probably have very low if any savings into their senior years. I wonder why so many young folks can't get a full time job, maybe even one with vaca pay and insurance
UE SUXXXXX! I maybe do 1 a week now. DD isn’t much better. I had a killer weekend on Roadie. I made more money on Roadie than any other app. That tells me everything. These apps are dying.
Where do you deliver?
Roadie does have some good paying orders, especially their pharmacy pickups. If I'm doing a long distance delivery for another company, Roadie will sometimes have an order going the same way.
In Spring Hill has been horrible
We are in Spring Hill. Only can manage $20/h on weekends. Weekdays are so frustrating.

Uber is saturated in the aspect that so many people are doing it now. I do it full time. Some of the orders are outrageous like 8$ for 13 to 20 miles.
What I don’t under is the trip radars what’s the point in that? Do you know?
People didnt just start doing delivery driving out of nowhere. It's all the illegal immigrants that have poured across our border the past few years and their stolen accounts. Some have 5-6 phones going at once. It's a huge problem.
It's sad and shameful for the platforms to give us kind of orders it definitely the platforms are not promoting our way of life for trying to help us make money
