@Bang4BuckPCGamer Technically I do too; oddly enough, while it didn't work on Windows it *did* still work on Linux. No idea how that works. Tested it on a friends PC at the time to the same result.
I have newest hardware, but i use it to replay older games that i used to play in 30fps low back in the day 2008-20011, now on max 4k old games are looking like 10x better without RT and upscaling methods and the best part is power draw under 150W at 144hz
When this game out I had the Phenom II 965 myself paired with a 8800GTS (640mb) Had to have Vista for DX10. I played it recently, don't remember the lack of color.
Back then HDR was just the new rendering method, but it didn't involve display devices. I think Far Cry was one of the first games to use this rendering pipeline. Any old game that supports HDR rendering could be updated to today to support a good looking HDR display output.
Not at all. Some ideas were actually good but it's repetitive af and the constant respawn of enemies is annoying. Plus, the open world is kinda empty. Far Cry 3 was a MUCH better game all around, too bad that from that point onwards they just kept doing the most outrageous copy-paste with all the sequels.
antialiasing msaa ((maybe 8x kill performance)) it's much better than today taa, that with camera movement have problems, just look a how clean image is, and how nostalgic to see the immortal r9 290 I loved that gpu it's was a moster anyway tassellation you can see was used on rocks, on crisys on ground too, but physycs it's much better than today games
Of course, it would be bad for business to wait for the announcement of the new card before trying to sell. I am very comfortable with my RTX 3090 and 14900KS in the meantime.
This game still looks modern.
R9 290, what a blast from the past!
R9 290 Tri-X... that was a hell of a card back in the day. I remember getting one in 2013 and sticking with it until it gave out in 2018!
I still have mine

Really nice man! Childhood memories
Remember playing this back in the day. The fire propagation system was sick, and the real-time weather system.
This is the first game I ever bought... I still have the CD and cover. 2008 feels so unreal, time flies huh

Older games are crisp and fun. I can't wait to play F.E.A.R. in 4k and HDR. It will be blast.
Thankyou for bringing this nostalgic feeling back .. i use to love this game .. and yes i agree this is Ubisoft's greatest hits..
One of the things I like about this game is the weapon jam mechanics when it gets abused.
r9 290 FINALLY BACK
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all
Good combo of GPU and CPU. Never seen that someone paired thia
Game surprisingly looks good and sharp and maybe with texture mods look even better
This brings back some good memories.

The multiplayer was incredible.
I had a Gtx 460 around that time when this came out. If I remember correctly
Underrated game

Something about that game always felt more "realistic' than every other shooter, by a good bit.

how does it run on newest gpus like 4080 and 7900xtx
And dx10?
You still keep that legendary R9 290 till this day Sir ???!🎉❤
Yes
scrubah's patch on nexus mod fixes the 60fps+ glitches
Well we can all agree you are in no way cpu bottlenecked.
I assume the 4090 has been sold awaiting the 5090 announcement at this point lol

@Bang4BuckPCGamer I agree man. I'm happy with my 4070ti that I managed to get for 400 USD on the used market so I'll just sit on it for now.
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer Very nice. How much did you get for it? I got back 90% of it.
Beautiful game
ps3, aka the gryy vaseline era😅
8XMSAA for 2K is super unnecessary.
Game physics and animation breaks at high fps.
@@SahajPS i didnt know that
