So glad you have your son back. Addiction is a horrible state of being and society's lack of understanding just drives us farther down the path. The myth of willpower and self-control is just that, a myth. Blackened hearts believe they're superior but they're simply cold and nearly dead already. If you can walk through this existence without ever feeling consumed by darkness, you're either lucky or ignorant, maybe both.

In the age of everything being over produced and studio doctored this is about as raw and pure as music gets. One person. One instrument. One take. A million emotions. The lyrics have a weight that is so hard to come by and his delivery is beautiful.

Danny’s music has meant a lot to me for a few years now. I’ve been singing and playing his songs for as long as I’ve been making my own. I was a looooooooottttt worse when I started, like unbelievably bad, but I can almost look back at my old covers as him compared to my current songs to see how far I’ve come. Turns out he actually saw a few of those covers. Even then, I never expected him to remember me. When I got to see him play live for the first time back in October 2018, I built up the guts to walk up and talk to him after the show. Before I could even say anything, he just said “are you Hunter?” I was in such shock that I didn’t even say anything for a moment. He told me to keep it up. It really felt like he believed in me, and that he still does. It’s a moment I’ll never forget. What a wonderful soul
Shortly after turning 18 me and some friends drove down to a large city to see this guy live, it was my first concert and my first time truly going out of town on my own as an adult with friends. The entire experience of the road trip was magical, and his performance truly tied the experience together, we even were able to catch with him up after the show and talk with him a bit. The music of Amigo the Devil always gives me chills, not just because it's beautiful, but also because it will always remind me of one of the most beautiful and amazing nights of my young life.
This is what it's about. Stories like that. I hope people, especially young people, keep having these experiences. Times like those shape the rest.

this is one of those songs that makes me want to have it play in a busy intersection or a mall and just waiting to see how many people stop and fully immerse themselves in the music and how many people would just continue with their actions and ignore the music. Too see the people affected by the lyrics and voice that captures people so completely in a memory containing a feeling that one wasn't fully prepared to confront for 3 minutes and 38 seconds i think would be just beautiful.

Active 18 years and agree I can relate to damn near every word in this song, but I think that just speaks to his song writing prowess, everyone can relate to it.
I did a little time in the sandbox. Left a big piece of myself there. Brought back an even bigger piece of burden. The first time I heard this song I broke down in tears. It fits my life on such a level that it felt like it came from my own heart. But now I use it as a tool to remind myself that losing IS alright. There IS a path to healing, and I will stay on it. Saw this dude live in Gainesville Fl, first day of his tour at the time and this guy was presented with the most loyal and knowledgeable fans. He played so many songs that weren't even on the set list because we knew everyone of them, even the unofficial stuff, everyone was singing along. The most humble Florida artist I've ever been blessed to witness. Keep on keeping on man, he speaks nothing but utter truth when he plays.
