Went back to this video out of nostalgia. Brought back some good memories binging the Nioh series with a friend and recommending him your build. I had a more melee ki dmg oriented build that dealt with proccing statuses to increase ki dmg while they had that status effect. While he had the more ninjutsu focused build that hit those big numbers with casts after the ki was broke. Made a good team. Been playing Wo Long recently and having a good time(performance issues and lag aside). Made me think back of your vids and wondered how you felt about Wo Long then noticed you hadn't made content since Elden Ring. Heard you've been having some health issues. I hope it's something you can recover from and have the support you need from family/friends. Love your commentary for your content, one of a kind. Thanks for the chill vibes and neat videos.

@@LeagueofMilk yes I’ve been running something similar but different with 7p Marici and 6p flutist, with more of a melee ki dmg focus but still using empowered ninjitsu and anima gen to lead with feathers into yokai abilities into melee combos, and it’s a really fun effective and varied playstyle that I enjoy. I’ve ran with light armor, A agility and B toughness the whole game but as I’m approaching the end of the underworld I might have to sub out for some heavy pieces to get the damage reduction and A toughness like you’ve done here.

I’ve been running the oyam tank grace with iza and magsuthi and those builds are so fun but it’s gotten kinda boring after playing with him for a year so this build is like a fresh breath of air thank you man❤️ I hope your doing good brother

Hi League, have you finished the Depth of the Underworld? I'm wondering how this build holds up on 20+ floors. I've been playing with the Brick Breaker build, but floor 20 boss took me ages to complete. My main concern is Curse of the Nioh on bosses with that goddamn health regen, as well as 3 bosses in a row. It seems if you won't be able to manage a boss in 1 go, you will just run out of ninja boxes. Thanks for the video, the build seems like a lot of fun 🔥
Im used to tanky builds and just tried this in the underworld around floor 50 i gotta say its alotta fun and the dmg is solid more than i expected for the weapons as well. I changed few stats put kept my agility A cons.150, and toughness around 230. It feels pretty good even though u need to be a bit elusive and avoid hits and elemental dmg u gotta play well with human bosses too. It might work with agility B if u reinforce ur armor i will try that soon to be more tanky. I wanted to comeback just to thank u for inspiring me to try a ninja build, im satisfied It worked out nicely.
Here's what might be a silly question: is there a way-scaled-down version of this that I can use going through Dream of the strong/demon/wise? I just started on PC a few days ago, and this looks much better than my homebrew magic spear non-build i've been using so far! I guess just getting a good set of dual swords and pumping skill and dex with Kato's armor is probably the best I'm going to get that early, huh? EDIT: I'm silly. Yes, though the triple bosses ( depths 21-30) will be a struggle and probably require some luck... However, I cleared the double bosses with this build despite bad luck with the bosses (I think I had otake and ancient nyotengu for one plus a couple other brutal pairs). I kinda burned out after that though and am messing around in dark souls 3 again
My advice is stay with ninjitsu until new game plus. Once your there stay with that or change it up with more powerful builds. Dream of the wise is something different though.
I been playing dream of the wise for like 2 weeks and I still cant beat a first region boss at level 432. Im going to give this build a try. I will let you know how it plays out for me.

the most important aspect of the build is 200 dext or 100 dext before dream of the strong(?) and his gear which you inherit all the unlimited ninja chance on helmet, boots and legs. the build is somewhat easy to make at the start of the game. you just find pieces of gear with inheritable unlimited ninjasu found on armor pieces or gloves and then you put all that on your other pieces that cannot roll it on your gear. you can also find any pieces of amulets to put unlimited ninjasu. Before you get melee vs corrupted stat, you have to use default "Melee vs poisoned" and i recommend farming a toxic slim soulcore in one of the missions to easily apply poison. where the build becomes SUPER HARD to build is on dream of the nioh. the reason is that in dream of the nioh, you have these new things called sets, grace sets. these grace set increase your damage output and scale ninjasu for this difficulty. The problem? You need find an amulet with star effect which only appears from enemy drops with "Melee vs corruption/Holy" and "Reduce set require by -1". why is this so hard for ninjasu compare magic builds? Because Yasu amulet has default --1 set requirement BUT IT CANNOT roll unlimited ninjasu, only unlimited magic. So on top of rng of needing * effects on amulet, you also need SPECIFIC amulets with said * effects and than to make matters worse, in order farm properly in the game, you need another * green effect which makes so that items you wear are items are more likely to get dropped. It is called "Lucky drop armor, Lucky drop weapon and Lucky drop accessory". What sucks about this obviously is that you'll be wearing crap pieces of gear and be totally underpowered in this difficult until you get correct items to play the difficulty properly. I really hope they patch nioh 2 end game one day. it is such fun game completely ruined by terrible end-game decisions related to rng farming. I hope they also patch soulcores in the game as well. so many soulcore are so useless on top of costs of soulcores being super restrictive for a lot of guardian spirits. like they could easily remove -1 soulcore stat and just reduce every soulcore by -1. it is so stupid that every soulcore has to be farmed for -1 soulcore stat and than you also need to get stat you want on soulcore. For ninjasu, you need anima ranged and Anima[ninjasu bonus], for magic, you need magic anima and confused anima and than there is one for melee which is corrupted/holy anima and confused anima. so it is just more mindless farming instead of playing the game for fun combat aspect.
It is tough to optimize but like any build it’s a building process. Grabbing a yasakani magatama will help but accessories are going to be a final bottleneck probably. The farm for the sucks until you clear the abyss. In the extra floors, the accessories have more star effects and it doesn’t take long. Getting there does tho..
@@LeagueofMilk yeah the problem is that abyss is gatekeeped by the *** because your effectively doing 50% less damage without melee vs corruption or Melee vs blessed * effect. without these effects, melee is like borderline unviable. the game starts off by giving you melee vs poison as starter tamper effect to get to dream of the strong but then on final difficult, you are tasked to fight two particular bosses which are nightbringer and yoshi who are immune to confusion, so you lose out of -50% damage and their weakness is running corrupt or blessed weapons in which you need * effect to melee them else your doing lot less damage. you can use poison but the difficult also has a mechanic where the more you apply certain effect, aka poison, the more resist the boss becomes and these boss also have natural poison resistance so they're just super brutal to play against due to fat hp pool balanced around you acquiring these *** effects. I really hope that they one day patch nioh 2 and improve end game farming so that end game enjoyable and not complete shore to get to.
Hey brother great build but I can't get the cannon or matchlock to drop with Marici. I'm farming the correct underworld levels and even forged a pair of greens, equip them and have lucky drop. Am I just unlucky?
Hmm maybe -- sometimes there are certain chests or other loot spots that guarantee a ranged weapon drop. If you could find one of those on a marici level, you would be set. Otherwise, it's really just a run of bad luck -- I got both my marici ranged weapons as the first 1-4 pieces of my grace hunting and the accessories took me forever...
It does if you get hit or block or dodge a lot. Especially with ki heavy weapon like tonfa, it could rly make a difference in tough fights to keep your combo going. Plus the super armor.
I know I’m super late and hope you still see this and can respond! But I was wondering why you don’t have your dual swords on as your primary weapon to get the melee/ grapple damage passive bonus
@@LeagueofMilk in the dual sword skill tree there’s a few passives called “full moon kata (1/2/3 tier)” which gives increased melee damage at full health with dual swords equipped. There’s one called shadow strike that gives increased damage from behind with them equipped as main weapon. Tachi arts gives you extra melee damage at full health with them equipped at mail weapon relentless gives you extra ki if you have it equipped as main. Or did you just pour all the skill points into melee mastery to increase the attack?

Just put this together last night and it's an absolute blast to play! The only thing I really changed was I used a veteran's armor for the chest piece instead of heavy armor. It puts me down in B toughness but I thought the damage reduction while attacking would synergize nicely with dual sword mystic art. Now I just need to get my scroll to roll untouched ninjutsu and I'll be golden. PS I absolutely love your Dark Souls 3 videos as well
Thanks a lot!!! Veteran's is a solid choice -- I've thought about it more than once. You may still be able to hit A toughness with +12 on scroll, +10 on secondary guardian spirit, and the rest either star effect toughness or +3 (+8 at max fam) inheritables. Having A toughness with vet's chest would be really, really good. I kinda wanna see if I could swing this.
Yea I had thought about trying to find a scroll with toughness but I managed to get one with ultimate con, melee damage, elemental damage, and sentience charge and that was just too tasty to pass up lol. Hopefully I can get some armor to drop with stat toughness effects
isn't omoikane grace better? it gives 434 life and it also gives 15% more elemental damage and 60 jutsu power and 20% jutsu item damage and 90 jutsu power and also 40% untouched jutsu
How do you roll corruption on non-innately corrupted gear, like you did for the Swift Hawk? Haven't found any documentation, and it doesn't seem like I can temper corruption either.
It’s a very rare effect on drop; purity is also possible on any weapon but never tempers on. It should have a star next to it, rly.. it’s not critical tho.
@@LeagueofMilk Was more for my own variation of this build, using hatchets and playing a full ranged build. Enjoying it but was trying to get a set of hatchets with imbue corrupt to really finish off the build
great build I am struggling with depths bosses don't die with melee wpnz 2 questions 1) is this still viable after patch 1.27? 2) why corrupted wpn and sentience charge I don't want to use melee at all Thank-you
1) yes 2) corruption is just to squeeze optimal melee power out of the build-but melee also is needed to help with survivability. Using dual swords is a large part of the builds survivability thanks to its damage reduction mystic art. It’s safest to use melee to safely empty ki and then feathers for huge damage
Any recommendations on starting gear and whatnot for a new player not quite into the endgame? Been scouring youtube for something to just carry me to endgame and actually let me farm up what I need. This build looks great, I just have no idea what to prioritize as far as stats and skills are concerned.

imo, yes -- but that's for this build which focuses solely on ninjutsu and is almost always getting the unscathed dmg ninjutsu bonus from marici. If you are trying to also improve your omnyo, omoikane can be great. Omoikane's untouched jutsu is also not additive, but multiplicative -- so you end up getting an addition 30% to your existing untouched ninjutsu %, which is kinda underwhelming.
Certain floors on the underworld are more likely to drop it when you get to WotN: www.reddit.com/r/Nioh/comments/kn0d30/underworld_grace_set_level_drops/ Also, after clearing underworld, you can start to get scrolls of the damned that will only drop a certain grace in their mission--those are the easiest, but take a while to get to.
How does empowered ninjutsu work with a shuri/kunai build? Is it viable? Doesn't have to be pre nerf (butchered) but I want to actually do damage. I just like them better than feathers.
Prolly pretty decent. You’d need untouched ninjutsu and throw dmg inheritances on all armor tho.. could be tricky n a lot of work for less damage. But more ninja swag-I keep thinking about making a build like this too
@@LeagueofMilk I miss pre nerf kunai on a poisoned enemy build. Literal glass cannon. Now its just pure glass. I like the traditional ninja play style over the Naruto magic feather style. I was hoping empowering ninjutsu would make it pre nerf status, you just had to work for it. Even on Demon you barely break 100 damage on medium Yokai.
Probably not gonna get an answet but, how do you get so much health back with your feathers? I also have life reco on amrite abdorb on chest piece and accessory but the health gain is so miniscule it doesnt matter :/
Are you using extraction talismans??? These boost Amrita on hit a ton, and the difference between using them or not is like night and day, so that maybe the issue?

I think so, as long as you keep replacing your gear as you move thru the levels. If you get stuck, you can probably get strong enough to progress with a tiny bit of farming to replace some of your gear. Gear>>>level - the Diablo influence in this is strong so always be looting
Hello I tried this build. great to epic damage when the enemy's ki is zero but some bosses' ki dsnt go down at all or if it did its back up in an instnat. so the damage of my feathers are like 3 to 5k just like your's when enemy ki is not zero from this vid. what's your solution to it?
Usually I go in three steps -- 1) feathers and corruption to apply confusion (almost every enemy is weak to one element type plus corruption if they aren't weak to a second 2) apply ki damage with high ki damage melee active skills, feathers and/or a soul core specializing in ki damage like ippon-datara or gozuki
@@LeagueofMilk thanks for the detailed reply. i will give this build a second go.. i kinda gave up on it due to that zero ki issue im having and in my mind i was thinking i could just use feathers all the way.. not mix of melee and feathers but even at 65% untouched i still run out because i wasnt focusing on just boss.. i want to use feathers at the start of depth or twilight and kill every single enemy using feather. i realized thats not possible :D hahaha
On a zero ki enemy they get like a 1000% damage boost. That coupled with an elemental weakness can let you melt bosses, once their ki is empty Lmk if you have more questions in a new comment pls - it shows up as a notification that way and I’m happy to help!
It takes a while to get to the final difficulty, way of the nioh. But once you’re there, the gear gets nuts. In way of the wise, stats can go from 99 to 200

No problem!!👍🥛 For human bosses I would mostly use feathers to apply confusion then attack with wind god (mid stance kick to slash) or cherry blossom then back to feathers. Throw in gozuki and ippon to cancel feather recovery animations when possible. Low stance can work too-double headed slice is a standout for applying corruption with your yokai weapon as we as fit getting it to activate.
I was wondering man, if you don’t mind one more question hahah, before the perfectly rolled scroll and swords are put together would you pick ultimate constitution over mystic dyad while you had to choose one?
Hm, prolly farming him in the mission where you have to kill all the dojo masters and then dying right after you kill/loot him (if he's close to beginning) Otherwise, just keep it equipped even if green and use "lucky drop (equipped armor)" on your accessory. Temper that effect on and just play, and plenty of kato will drop. This is the best method really because you can just progress normally through the underworld.
There is one mistake: Honda clan gives you not 100% (80+30), but 80%, 30 out of which are from clan rank. You can still use Boar helmet to have a 100% chance. But, overall, this is DAMN GREAT VIDEO, thanks really as much
Currently, this build of urs is my Nioh 2 goal, since I main DK since Nioh 1, but quite frankly, I just reached DotD and the dificulty spike in DotD is just absurd., it feels like them scaled the hp of everything 10x while your damage remains the same, making every boss fight long af and tedious. You prolly don't play this anymore but with that say, if you have some time to spare, do you have any tips to help with DotD? I'm currently using 6p Kato, 3p Benzaiten, everything around +13/+14, and the only "burst" I found was the fathers as you said but I'm having a hard time depleting enemies Ki so yea. Anyways, thx in advance and great video friend.
I think I was playing with a tanky build in demon with some shibata katsue (for the damage received -% during an attack) I did demon after wise was already released so I also just tried to rush thru it doing the side missions and easiest main missions until otakemaru unlocked Just keep going and things get way better after demon, so only rebuild if you get really stuck Good luck!!! @@LeagueofMilk Hey there, just to update you that I managed to get nearly full Marici, (Missing a heavy armor yet), and full Kato for DotW, a good Scrolls of the Wise (Dyad DK, Toughness 11, Ultimate Cons), and well, as long as its Yokai, I can kill them fairly easy, but if its a human boss, oh boy. With that said do you have any tips for dealing with humans cos well, them dont stay zero ki for long for the feathers to burn them and etc. also I've seem a lotta ppl using Gozuki lately for Ki damage but I'm not sure if its better than Ippon, if you have any thoughts on that I'd apreciate as well Anyways, thx again for making the video, its been really really helpful. Çan i invest more in stamina instead of constitution as leveling stamina gives the same amount of life because after level 100+ constitution it only gives 6 life per level and stamina gives you that from level 6 of stamina to level 200 plus you can get more weight
That’s true but the constitution is still critical due to the interaction between true constitution and Honda clan. But until you find a scroll with true constitution, stamina is better. But I’d target farming that! Makes life much easier.
Hi thanks for the info I noticed that your jitsu cost less than mine for example quick change mine cost 6 and yours 5 and feathers I can only put 3 not 6 like yours
First, you have to be in way of the wise -- that's where ethereals begin dropping. Next -- Temper "lucky drop (equipped armor)" onto an accessory you're using. This will greatly increase kato armor dropping, and will make putting your set together much easier.
Hm you’ll want the Kato smithing text. To farm it probably the mission is in the final area where you fight all the dojo masters in a row. That way you can stack item drop+% up and luck more (versus trying to farm it in the dojo mission)

I still use feathers to apply confusion/sloth(in wotn) to human bosses.. having some caltrops can be nice for your kit against tough elemental resistant human bosses. Dang bro do you play on PS5 or PC? You’re freaking awesome. I wanted to ask you - I have a 200 Magic, 200 Strength build because I like using Switchglaive (A LOT) and sometimes Fists. I like using amulets/talismans, and overall magic.. What would you recommend for that? I usually use light armor that sticks to A toughness and A agility both (Lone Wolf) since I like the speed..

I tested too, and found around an 8% increase in damage when both are stacked. You can even see it in the status menu -- empowered goes from A to A+. Are you sure your kato set is all the WotN "+" version?
@@LeagueofMilk I have an eye on omoikane + flyin Kato. 5% more dmg and more NP. But it's a little bit crappy that omoikane untouched ninjutsu doesn't stack. It count as another change...
Good question. The reason is you’d end up losing a lot of unlimited ninjitsu for marginal damage gain due to the way omoikane’s works. And the damage is only rly gained below full health, which this build always tries to be at for the Honda bonus
@@LeagueofMilk I don't follow, on paper omoikane gives 15% elemental and 20% jutsu damage, so that's 35% unconditional damage buff compared to kato's 10%, not to mention omoikane also gives +150 ninjutsu power. Am i missing something here?
I guess I missed some numbers. I still like kato for the ki recovery and stacked empowered ninjutsu, but sounds like omoikane is better for pure ninjutsu damage
Sure the only reason kato is better is that it gives empowered ninjitsu which makes melee combat more effective. But for pure feather casting, omoikane seems to be better
TY!! :D Raising stamina nets the same amount of health from what I tested (+6 per point) but you lose equip load, ofc -- I actually did it so that my active skill that I set to scale off of constitution would get the max dmg boost
Pretty sure that omikane grace is better than marci as it gives you 40% untouched jutsu and by having most equipment with untouched jutsu you will practically have unlimited jutsu
That affect works in a funny way. The 40% for omoikane is a 40% boost to your existing untouched ninjutsu/omnyo. So it’s not as effective as it seems at first glance for sustain. But for damage omoikane IS better than Marici, but only jutsu damage. For an efficient, mix of physical and jutsu damage boosts PLUS the sustain, Marici wins out for me. But both are really good, it’s up to preference/purpose
@@LeagueofMilk I honestly fell in love with melting bosses with jutsu so I will use omikane as its suits me best but I hope that other people can see this and not copy others without figuring what build they like (no offense)
Yes but it would take a lot more effort to be even close to the effectiveness of feathers - you’ll have to get thrown damage up star effects on as many armor or accessory pieces as you can More ninja feel and spammability may be worth it!
A agility, kato set's ki recovery on ninjutsu hit, and the momentum mystic art from dual swords leave me with like no ki issues--just start stacking things like those
In a separate vid, shoulda done smth like this, gud point With the build guides I try to keep things trim and they always end up too long imo so I leave a bunch out that isn’t absolutely critical
The build is already taking skill to 200 b/c it gives ninjutsu also so changing scaling to dex would be a waste of a spot on your weapon. You don't need to worry about a lot of this build until way of the wise difficulty. Make sure you check out the earlier vids on this build when you get there if you still feel like trying this build!
After you clear the 108 floors, you can find scrolls of the damned where the missions only drop a certain grace. But before that, certain floors of the underworld will drop certain graces, narrowing your search as you clear the floors. Thanks! I made it thru 10-20 over the last couple days -- the build can handle double bosses pretty well, especially if you pop a shinobi box between boss spawns. But you'll only get 5 per run unless the boxes drop, so don't go overboard. Phantom will provide more DPS, but I find it a lot less useful otherwise. I often use the nekomatta extended burst counter as my "Oh crap--I have to reposition RIGHT NOW" button. Phantom or brute can't really do that.
There are ways to make it easy. Just equip purple or green Kati gear from dojo fight or the dojo master gauntlet mission. It can be crappy. Then put “lucky drop (equipped armor)” on an accessory. This effect will make Kati drop all the time from any yokai boss if you wear it. Just clear content and you’ll get your gear!👍👍

The best way to animation cancel is to ki pulse the animation. Reason being when you do a melee attack then cast the jutsu, ki pulse then cast a additional jutsu into burst counter or yokai ability. Coo build tho!!!
Np kusa is a great choice.. status, dmg amd Amrita gen on hit must be nuts Plus it has that broken ki dmg trick I saw in PWAR’s latest kusa vid.. Have fun trouncing all the things👍🥛🍻
Ethereals drop just from normal content starting in way of the wise but get way more plentiful in way of the nioh Revenant farming becomes pointless at wise

Went back to this video out of nostalgia. Brought back some good memories binging the Nioh series with a friend and recommending him your build. I had a more melee ki dmg oriented build that dealt with proccing statuses to increase ki dmg while they had that status effect. While he had the more ninjutsu focused build that hit those big numbers with casts after the ki was broke. Made a good team. Been playing Wo Long recently and having a good time(performance issues and lag aside). Made me think back of your vids and wondered how you felt about Wo Long then noticed you hadn't made content since Elden Ring. Heard you've been having some health issues. @@LeagueofMilk yes I’ve been running something similar but different with 7p Marici and 6p flutist, with more of a melee ki dmg focus but still using empowered ninjitsu and anima gen to lead with feathers into yokai abilities into melee combos, and it’s a really fun effective and varied playstyle that I enjoy. I’ve ran with light armor, A agility and B toughness the whole game but as I’m approaching the end of the underworld I might have to sub out for some heavy pieces to get the damage reduction and A toughness like you’ve done here.
I like that set up -- ki damage is king, esp paired with feathers. Smart.

Hi League, have you finished the Depth of the Underworld? I'm wondering how this build holds up on 20+ floors. I've been playing with the Brick Breaker build, but floor 20 boss took me ages to complete. My main concern is Curse of the Nioh on bosses with that goddamn health regen, as well as 3 bosses in a row. It seems if you won't be able to manage a boss in 1 go, you will just run out of ninja boxes.

Not bad on depths, I’ve cleared to 20 with it. But boss RNG can matter, tho I think I had yoshitsune show up on one of the triples..
Im used to tanky builds and just tried this in the underworld around floor 50 i gotta say its alotta fun and the dmg is solid more than i expected for the weapons as well. I changed few stats put kept my agility A cons.150, and toughness around 230. It feels pretty good even though u need to be a bit elusive and avoid hits and elemental dmg u gotta play well with human bosses too. It might work with agility B if u reinforce ur armor i will try that soon to be more tanky. I wanted to comeback just to thank u for inspiring me to try a ninja build, im satisfied It worked out nicely.

Yes, though the triple bosses ( depths 21-30) will be a struggle and probably require some luck...
However, I cleared the double bosses with this build despite bad luck with the bosses (I think I had otake and ancient nyotengu for one plus a couple other brutal pairs). I kinda burned out after that though and am messing around in dark souls 3 again
My advice is stay with ninjitsu until new game plus. Once your there stay with that or change it up with more powerful builds. Dream of the wise is something different though.
I been playing dream of the wise for like 2 weeks and I still cant beat a first region boss at level 432. Im going to give this build a try. I will let you know how it plays out for me.

Hello - could you please let me know if your build can be modified for level 300, if it makes sense, and if so, what should I pay attention to? - Best regards.
the most important aspect of the build is 200 dext or 100 dext before dream of the strong(?) and his gear which you inherit all the unlimited ninja chance on helmet, boots and legs. the build is somewhat easy to make at the start of the game. you just find pieces of gear with inheritable unlimited ninjasu found on armor pieces or gloves and then you put all that on your other pieces that cannot roll it on your gear. you can also find any pieces of amulets to put unlimited ninjasu. Before you get melee vs corrupted stat, you have to use default "Melee vs poisoned" and i recommend farming a toxic slim soulcore in one of the missions to easily apply poison.
where the build becomes SUPER HARD to build is on dream of the nioh. the reason is that in dream of the nioh, you have these new things called sets, grace sets. these grace set increase your damage output and scale ninjasu for this difficulty. The problem? You need find an amulet with star effect which only appears from enemy drops with "Melee vs corruption/Holy" and "Reduce set require by -1". why is this so hard for ninjasu compare magic builds? Because Yasu amulet has default --1 set requirement BUT IT CANNOT roll unlimited ninjasu, only unlimited magic. So on top of rng of needing * effects on amulet, you also need SPECIFIC amulets with said * effects and than to make matters worse, in order farm properly in the game, you need another * green effect which makes so that items you wear are items are more likely to get dropped. It is called "Lucky drop armor, Lucky drop weapon and Lucky drop accessory". What sucks about this obviously is that you'll be wearing crap pieces of gear and be totally underpowered in this difficult until you get correct items to play the difficulty properly.
I really hope they patch nioh 2 end game one day. it is such fun game completely ruined by terrible end-game decisions related to rng farming. I hope they also patch soulcores in the game as well. so many soulcore are so useless on top of costs of soulcores being super restrictive for a lot of guardian spirits. like they could easily remove -1 soulcore stat and just reduce every soulcore by -1. it is so stupid that every soulcore has to be farmed for -1 soulcore stat and than you also need to get stat you want on soulcore. For ninjasu, you need anima ranged and Anima[ninjasu bonus], for magic, you need magic anima and confused anima and than there is one for melee which is corrupted/holy anima and confused anima. so it is just more mindless farming instead of playing the game for fun combat aspect.
It is tough to optimize but like any build it’s a building process. Grabbing a yasakani magatama will help but accessories are going to be a final bottleneck probably. The farm for the sucks until you clear the abyss. In the extra floors, the accessories have more star effects and it doesn’t take long. Getting there does tho..
@@LeagueofMilk yeah the problem is that abyss is gatekeeped by the *** because your effectively doing 50% less damage without melee vs corruption or Melee vs blessed * effect. without these effects, melee is like borderline unviable. the game starts off by giving you melee vs poison as starter tamper effect to get to dream of the strong but then on final difficult, you are tasked to fight two particular bosses which are nightbringer and yoshi who are immune to confusion, so you lose out of -50% damage and their weakness is running corrupt or blessed weapons in which you need * effect to melee them else your doing lot less damage. you can use poison but the difficult also has a mechanic where the more you apply certain effect, aka poison, the more resist the boss becomes and these boss also have natural poison resistance so they're just super brutal to play against due to fat hp pool balanced around you acquiring these *** effects.
I really hope that they one day patch nioh 2 and improve end game farming so that end game enjoyable and not complete shore to get to.
Hey brother great build but I can't get the cannon or matchlock to drop with Marici. I'm farming the correct underworld levels and even forged a pair of greens, equip them and have lucky drop. Am I just unlucky?
Hmm maybe -- sometimes there are certain chests or other loot spots that guarantee a ranged weapon drop. If you could find one of those on a marici level, you would be set.
Otherwise, it's really just a run of bad luck -- I got both my marici ranged weapons as the first 1-4 pieces of my grace hunting and the accessories took me forever...

Does A in toughnees really matter? I want to have a tonfa as a secondary weapon for human enemies to deplete their ki faster.
It does if you get hit or block or dodge a lot. Especially with ki heavy weapon like tonfa, it could rly make a difference in tough fights to keep your combo going. Plus the super armor.
I know I’m super late and hope you still see this and can respond! But I was wondering why you don’t have your dual swords on as your primary weapon to get the melee/ grapple damage passive bonus

@@LeagueofMilk in the dual sword skill tree there’s a few passives called “full moon kata (1/2/3 tier)” which gives increased melee damage at full health with dual swords equipped. There’s one called shadow strike that gives increased damage from behind with them equipped as main weapon. Tachi arts gives you extra melee damage at full health with them equipped at mail weapon relentless gives you extra ki if you have it equipped as main. Or did you just pour all the skill points into melee mastery to increase the attack?

Just put this together last night and it's an absolute blast to play! The only thing I really changed was I used a veteran's armor for the chest piece instead of heavy armor. It puts me down in B toughness but I thought the damage reduction while attacking would synergize nicely with dual sword mystic art. Now I just need to get my scroll to roll untouched ninjutsu and I'll be golden.

Veteran's is a solid choice -- I've thought about it more than once. You may still be able to hit A toughness with +12 on scroll, +10 on secondary guardian spirit, and the rest either star effect toughness or +3 (+8 at max fam) inheritables. Having A toughness with vet's chest would be really, really good. I kinda wanna see if I could swing this.
Yea I had thought about trying to find a scroll with toughness but I managed to get one with ultimate con, melee damage, elemental damage, and sentience charge and that was just too tasty to pass up lol. Hopefully I can get some armor to drop with stat toughness effects
isn't omoikane grace better? it gives 434 life and it also gives 15% more elemental damage and 60 jutsu power and 20% jutsu item damage and 90 jutsu power and also 40% untouched jutsu
Marici’s auto defense down on ninjutsu hit was too useful imo for melee but that is def a good option if you want a more caster based build
How do you roll corruption on non-innately corrupted gear, like you did for the Swift Hawk? Haven't found any documentation, and it doesn't seem like I can temper corruption either.
It’s a very rare effect on drop; purity is also possible on any weapon but never tempers on. It should have a star next to it, rly.. it’s not critical tho.

2) corruption is just to squeeze optimal melee power out of the build-but melee also is needed to help with survivability. Using dual swords is a large part of the builds survivability thanks to its damage reduction mystic art. It’s safest to use melee to safely empty ki and then feathers for huge damage
how did you get kato's set etherials with stars? just by farming or some sudama/defiling trick?
Farming abyss with lucky drop equipped armor-it won’t take more than a week until you get all or mostly god rolls

Is the reduce Defense buff on maricis worth not taking omaikanes set for more ninjitsu power and untouched?
imo, yes -- but that's for this build which focuses solely on ninjutsu and is almost always getting the unscathed dmg ninjutsu bonus from marici. If you are trying to also improve your omnyo, omoikane can be great. Omoikane's untouched jutsu is also not additive, but multiplicative -- so you end up getting an addition 30% to your existing untouched ninjutsu %, which is kinda underwhelming.
Hm well that’s good to know because I was halfway done farming a set of omoikane but now I think I may switch over to marici. Thanks for the insight.

How does empowered ninjutsu work with a shuri/kunai build? Is it viable? Doesn't have to be pre nerf (butchered) but I want to actually do damage. I just like them better than feathers.
Prolly pretty decent. You’d need untouched ninjutsu and throw dmg inheritances on all armor tho.. could be tricky n a lot of work for less damage. But more ninja swag-I keep thinking about making a build like this too
@@LeagueofMilk I miss pre nerf kunai on a poisoned enemy build. Literal glass cannon. Now its just pure glass. I like the traditional ninja play style over the Naruto magic feather style. I was hoping empowering ninjutsu would make it pre nerf status, you just had to work for it. Even on Demon you barely break 100 damage on medium Yokai.

Are you using extraction talismans??? These boost Amrita on hit a ton, and the difference between using them or not is like night and day, so that maybe the issue?

I think so, as long as you keep replacing your gear as you move thru the levels. If you get stuck, you can probably get strong enough to progress with a tiny bit of farming to replace some of your gear. Gear>>>level - the Diablo influence in this is strong so always be looting

Hello I tried this build. great to epic damage when the enemy's ki is zero but some bosses' ki dsnt go down at all or if it did its back up in an instnat. so the damage of my feathers are like 3 to 5k just like your's when enemy ki is not zero from this vid. what's your solution to it?
Usually I go in three steps --
1) feathers and corruption to apply confusion (almost every enemy is weak to one element type plus corruption if they aren't weak to a second
2) apply ki damage with high ki damage melee active skills, feathers and/or a soul core specializing in ki damage like ippon-datara or gozuki

idk tbh.. I usually only go to +3. As long as you can wipe their ki tho, the feathers will kill anything really efficiently.

On a zero ki enemy they get like a 1000% damage boost. That coupled with an elemental weakness can let you melt bosses, once their ki is empty

What's the strategy on getting stats like that... seem like you'd have to play forever to get that setup.
It takes a while to get to the final difficulty, way of the nioh. But once you’re there, the gear gets nuts. In way of the wise, stats can go from 99 to 200
Do the ninjutsu hells do less damage than the feathers? Or the same?
Hell feathers usually do more dmg and gen more anima too, but cost more jutsu as a trade off
They can be trickier to hit with too

For human bosses I would mostly use feathers to apply confusion then attack with wind god (mid stance kick to slash) or cherry blossom then back to feathers. Throw in gozuki and ippon to cancel feather recovery animations when possible. Hm, prolly farming him in the mission where you have to kill all the dojo masters and then dying right after you kill/loot him (if he's close to beginning)
Otherwise, just keep it equipped even if green and use "lucky drop (equipped armor)" on your accessory. Temper that effect on and just play, and plenty of kato will drop. This is the best method really because you can just progress normally through the underworld.
There is one mistake: Honda clan gives you not 100% (80+30), but 80%, 30 out of which are from clan rank. You can still use Boar helmet to have a 100% chance. But, overall, this is DAMN GREAT VIDEO, thanks really as much

Currently, this build of urs is my Nioh 2 goal, since I main DK since Nioh 1, but quite frankly, I just reached DotD and the dificulty spike in DotD is just absurd., it feels like them scaled the hp of everything 10x while your damage remains the same, making every boss fight long af and tedious.
You prolly don't play this anymore but with that say, if you have some time to spare, do you have any tips to help with DotD?
I'm currently using 6p Kato, 3p Benzaiten, everything around +13/+14, and the only "burst" I found was the fathers as you said but I'm having a hard time depleting enemies Ki so yea.

I think I was playing with a tanky build in demon with some shibata katsue (for the damage received -% during an attack)
I did demon after wise was already released so I also just tried to rush thru it doing the side missions and easiest main missions until otakemaru unlocked
Just keep going and things get way better after demon, so only rebuild if you get really stuck

@@LeagueofMilk Hey there, just to update you that I managed to get nearly full Marici, (Missing a heavy armor yet), and full Kato for DotW, a good Scrolls of the Wise (Dyad DK, Toughness 11, Ultimate Cons), and well, as long as its Yokai, I can kill them fairly easy, but if its a human boss, oh boy.
With that said do you have any tips for dealing with humans cos well, them dont stay zero ki for long for the feathers to burn them and etc.
also I've seem a lotta ppl using Gozuki lately for Ki damage but I'm not sure if its better than Ippon, if you have any thoughts on that I'd apreciate as well

Çan i invest more in stamina instead of constitution as leveling stamina gives the same amount of life because after level 100+ constitution it only gives 6 life per level and stamina gives you that from level 6 of stamina to level 200 plus you can get more weight
That’s true but the constitution is still critical due to the interaction between true constitution and Honda clan. But until you find a scroll with true constitution, stamina is better. But I’d target farming that! Makes life much easier.

Yes, unfortunately you need "Kato+" set which only drops in dream of the nioh. So just keep progressing and it'll be there waiting for you!

NP -- TY for the kind word. You just need to keep upgrading those skills in your ninjutsu tree -- that will decrease their jutsu cost to equip

First, you have to be in way of the wise -- that's where ethereals begin dropping. Next -- Temper "lucky drop (equipped armor)" onto an accessory you're using. This will greatly increase kato armor dropping, and will make putting your set together much easier.

It comes after way of the wise when you can raise dexterity to 200. From 100 to 190 you get the 5 extra iirc

How to farm maricis grace?
Just takes time. Certain floors in underworld drop it more. If you beat that then you can find scrolls of the damned that drop certain graces
Would going Purity on this work too? Feels like Purity has less farming required for the best rolls.
It would work too - but you’d lose a bit of damage. I’d try to work corruption into the build eventually

Hm you’ll want the Kato smithing text. To farm it probably the mission is in the final area where you fight all the dojo masters in a row. That way you can stack item drop+% up and luck more (versus trying to farm it in the dojo mission)

I still use feathers to apply confusion/sloth(in wotn) to human bosses.. having some caltrops can be nice for your kit against tough elemental resistant human bosses. Coin throw works okay too for buff proc’s

I like using amulets/talismans, and overall magic.. What would you recommend for that? I usually use light armor that sticks to A toughness and A agility both (Lone Wolf) since I like the speed..

Where can you farm the Flying Kato+ set?
It doesn’t start dropping until way of nioh difficulty. After that just wear Kato and temper one accessory with lucky drop (equipped armor)

It just shows up on soul cores but I think nekomata guardian spirit has it naturally too, but that might cause issues. Try to get it on an easy to farm soul core that isn’t your primary use core

I tested marici and flyin Kato in dojo. It doesn't stack. The gaining ninjutsu back ability don't do, and damage also don't do.
I tested too, and found around an 8% increase in damage when both are stacked. You can even see it in the status menu -- empowered goes from A to A+. Are you sure your kato set is all the WotN "+" version?

Good question. The reason is you’d end up losing a lot of unlimited ninjitsu for marginal damage gain due to the way omoikane’s works. And the damage is only rly gained below full health, which this build always tries to be at for the Honda bonus
@@LeagueofMilk I don't follow, on paper omoikane gives 15% elemental and 20% jutsu damage, so that's 35% unconditional damage buff compared to kato's 10%, not to mention omoikane also gives +150 ninjutsu power. Am i missing something here?
I guess I missed some numbers. I still like kato for the ki recovery and stacked empowered ninjutsu, but sounds like omoikane is better for pure ninjutsu damage
Sure the only reason kato is better is that it gives empowered ninjitsu which makes melee combat more effective. But for pure feather casting, omoikane seems to be better

TY!! :D Raising stamina nets the same amount of health from what I tested (+6 per point) but you lose equip load, ofc -- I actually did it so that my active skill that I set to scale off of constitution would get the max dmg boost
Pretty sure that omikane grace is better than marci as it gives you 40% untouched jutsu and by having most equipment with untouched jutsu you will practically have unlimited jutsu
That affect works in a funny way. The 40% for omoikane is a 40% boost to your existing untouched ninjutsu/omnyo. So it’s not as effective as it seems at first glance for sustain.
But for damage omoikane IS better than Marici, but only jutsu damage. For an efficient, mix of physical and jutsu damage boosts PLUS the sustain, Marici wins out for me. But both are really good, it’s up to preference/purpose

Yes but it would take a lot more effort to be even close to the effectiveness of feathers - you’ll have to get thrown damage up star effects on as many armor or accessory pieces as you can
More ninja feel and spammability may be worth it!

With the build guides I try to keep things trim and they always end up too long imo so I leave a bunch out that isn’t absolutely critical
so why not rescale dual swords to dex im new only level 120
The build is already taking skill to 200 b/c it gives ninjutsu also so changing scaling to dex would be a waste of a spot on your weapon. You don't need to worry about a lot of this build until way of the wise difficulty. Make sure you check out the earlier vids on this build when you get there if you still feel like trying this build!

Marici is so rare. Any tips on where they drop more often?
After you clear the 108 floors, you can find scrolls of the damned where the missions only drop a certain grace. But before that, certain floors of the underworld will drop certain graces, narrowing your search as you clear the floors. Here is the guide for which graces drop on which floors:

I farmed my Marici gear on floor 8 of the underworld. It's quick and easy.

Thanks! I made it thru 10-20 over the last couple days -- the build can handle double bosses pretty well, especially if you pop a shinobi box between boss spawns. But you'll only get 5 per run unless the boxes drop, so don't go overboard.
Phantom will provide more DPS, but I find it a lot less useful otherwise. I often use the nekomatta extended burst counter as my "Oh crap--I have to reposition RIGHT NOW" button. Phantom or brute can't really do that.

Cool build but Kato is impossible to farm. So I can't really make the build
There are ways to make it easy. Just equip purple or green Kati gear from dojo fight or the dojo master gauntlet mission. It can be crappy.
Then put “lucky drop (equipped armor)” on an accessory. This effect will make Kati drop all the time from any yokai boss if you wear it. Just clear content and you’ll get your gear!👍👍

Yes and no...this video is actually the 3rd part of the build. In dream of the demon, you can't get ethereal items with marici's grace yet, so about half of the build (2 accessories, 1 weapon, 2 ranged weapons) can't be gotten until way of the wise.

I basically built it as I could, minus the ethereal components. And it is fun as hell, just not nearly as powerful of course. The best way to animation cancel is to ki pulse the animation. Reason being when you do a melee attack then cast the jutsu, ki pulse then cast a additional jutsu into burst counter or yokai ability. Coo build tho!!!

Kunai damage falls off, but feathers after depleting the boss/miniboss ki should carry you thru with ninjutsu!!!

Ethereals drop just from normal content starting in way of the wise but get way more plentiful in way of the nioh
