    Thank you so much! I passed my test today first time after watching all of your videos, they really helped give me more of an idea of the test routes

    Very helpful video(s) and I got the exact test route. All the tips mentioned in the video was really useful. I am based in Cambridge and didn't take the lessons in Peterborough. So all these videos are quite useful for the people like me. Once again thanks for your efforts.

    Hi, and whats speed limit there was where very narrow streets was? 🙄 Can anyone tell me pls, you said someone drove on 30 and dont pass the test

    • @Trackdayinstructor
      @Trackdayinstructor ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Martynas. The limit is 60 through the thin road and up to where it goes into the village.
      The thin road you don’t want to go anything like that speed - the problem I had with one customer was that they had done about 30 on that section and stayed doing 30 when the road got bigger. Really you want to be up in the 40-50mph area for a lot if that part

    Do you have to indicate on eye roundabout? Or is it only when you exit? I'm just wondering in case I mislead other drivers into thinking I'm switching lanes!

      @elliottsdrivingschoolpeter4839  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Francesca. On eye roundabout you’re following you lane for direction so no I don’t indicate when going this way.
      As you say I would see an indicator as an intention to change lane.

    Do you offer training a person without attending class,I just learn more about in hands on training rather than reading online about parts and rules.From Peterborough area here.

      @@Tom8478onYT cool. I’m hoping to fill this channel with similar tutorials for pretty much all roundabouts in Peterborough. I’ve done some filming for a bay park video as well but still got to do all of the editing.
      Still pretty new to all this so it takes hours to make them!
      I have one nearly finished for eyebury road too although since I recorded the video clips the lines have been repainted 😂

    I’m absolutely shitting my pants for next Wednesday, got my test in Peterborough and I can drive and all, I check my mirrors but I feel like I’m gonna get failed for something stupid

    • @Trackdayinstructor
      @Trackdayinstructor 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’d say you’re feeling the same emotions as most people. So this is the advise I give.
      1. Don’t try and fight the emotions you’re feeling. It’s not silly or stupid to feel that way. If you try to fight it it means you’ve just lost a load of brain power having a fight. Better to just lose a little with the original emotions.
      2. When you’re driving on your test, try to let your instincts lead you. So easy to get into a situation where you want to do one thing but then start to think ‘but what if the examiner wants me to do different’. The problem is that whilst there’s a committee meeting going on in your head - the situation is getting closer and will need a more extreme reaction.
      So try to avoid that, in a ‘Errr’ moment - follow the instinctive reaction. These will be the things you’ve been practicing in your normal driving so are more than likely to be right.
      3. Remember your blind spots! Far too often I get a fail for people going out, driving well apart from completely blanking that bit out, despite doing it all well in lessons.
      4. If you think you’ve made a mistake, no matter how bad, try to focus on what’s next up the road. You can think about it later. I’ve had people make small mistakes on test and then be thinking about it so much that they then make a big mistake later. Remember if the examiner hasn’t touched the brake, grabbed the wheel or told you to stop then you must not assume you’ve failed. Try not to think about things that have happened, you can’t change them. Focus on what’s next.
      5. Point 1 again. It really is ok to be nervous. Don’t fight it, embrace it and work with it. You may well see your behaviour change in the lessons leading up to your test. Possibly obsessing on any small mistake. Remember that most of the driving test can be summed up in four S’s
      Don’t make another driver:
      Slow
      Stop
      Swerve
      Swear.
      Manage that and you’re well on your way 😁

      @@microwave5313 no problem and good luck.
      Ooh something I forgot to write above.
      It’s ok to go the wrong way, as long as you do it right.
      Example on a test today. Lady driving on the dual carriageway from Amazon towards Cardea where Morrison’s is.
      The route they take is to go straight ahead at the cardea roundabout towards stanground.
      There’s a sign and road markings showing the right lane for straight and left lane for left. She’s missed the sign and decides when she sees the road markings that she can’t change lane safely. She turns left at the roundabout, goes up to the Morrison’s roundabout and turns around comes back to the original roundabout and turns left again.
      She wasn’t even given a minor mark. At worst you’d get a minor for awareness and planning.
      If she had gone straight at the roundabout in the left lane, she would have got a serious mark for not obeying road markings.
