@ARMED DEFENSE ARMED DEFENSE mate, you're not gonna get a job commenting hate on other people's videos who actually have jobs. Especially when he has over 6 thousand subscribers, and you have what, 10, is it like a proper account or a joke one, like you. You're tryna hate on him, but your profile pic is a gun and with a name like armed defence, you sound like a twelve year old kid. I know your probs gonna read this and go to your mummy's room and cry, but before you do that, grow a pair, get a job, and move out of your mum's basement. Cause life's not gonna get easier by chatting shit, if you can actually ever get a job, maybe when your old enough, try not to be a dickhead to everyone better than you, you'll get fired pretty soon dipshit
@ARMED DEFENSE you have a job in security? Yeah right, you couldn't even defend your ass when a 16 yr old kid starts on you. Honestly mate, who do you even work for? Your little brother? It's funny how you take a day to reply to something just so you can see how many comebacks your mummy can think of.(they're shit, btw) the fact that you have to list them so you can tell the difference between them all, paha. Pathetic, you actually have no life mate. Respect people man, actually take time to compliment people instead of dissing them. He's making good videos that actually tech stuff. You want to dis on people, don't do it to people that are trying to help others. Who's that gonna impress dumbass? You're girlfriend you pinky promised you'd stay with?
It all depends on what you want to do as a career, if you want to be a filmmaker. Such as a director or a camera operator, it’s not going to be a whole lot helpful because in 2019. Only 30% of your course is making films which is how you improve your work. By doing it! There are also only guidelines in filmmaking such as the rule of thirds. In media, they teach you rules that you have to follow to get marks and your original idea has to be the exact same as the project you come out with. This is wrong for filmmaking. Another huge part of media is the representation of gender, in marketing this is important for the huge equality importance now a days however in narrative films you have your fictional characters with any personality you see fit including racism, sexism and anything seen as a misrepresentation of minorities. So for narrative filmmaking, media is largely not important. However it’s also a double barrel because it’s seen as a must to be a filmmaker. I took it and I do regret it however it all depends on what area of media you want to do!
Your channel and contents are absolutely amazing! I cant stop watching it. My name is Gustavo . I am a teacher/Bacchellor on communication at secondary level in Argentina and I found your explanations very interesting for my classes !!! Thanks a lot!!!

great video! I finished a levels last summer and was at a school where they didn't offer media studies at all - probably because they saw it as a 'mickey mouse' subject. now realising what the subject is i wish i had changed schools and taken it because it sounds facinating and i'd probably like to work in the media industry in the future.. :(

Media studies is not really the most respected subject from university, you should take it only if you really like it or plan to take it at uni. I would suggest to take a facilitating subject like English or maths that would be more appealing to any university, that being said media relates to business and economics as it has to do with audiences and marketing but it is a vocational course rather than academic so chose carefully (I am personally taking it as an a level but I also plan to take at uni)
Could you do a video on the reformed Media Qualifications? Maybe a Q&A or which exam board you think you're going with or the new/updated 'theoretical frameworks' please :)

Hello. Love your video. I am a language and literature professor interested in media studies. Perhaps, a possible phd student in the field. Thank you.
I'm interested in studying Asian pop culture, especially anime, Kpop & Bollywood, since from Malaysia myself. I'd like to know they've affected the populace of Asia, like how Bollywood is popular in Japan, Kpop in India and overall how anime is popular everywhere. There's also propaganda and how every country use films, music etc to propagate their national values. Will Media Studies help? If yes, where can I start? Are there online schools that teaches media and pop culture?

Yes, but in in the U.S and Canada it's causally used to describe the more creative end of productions. film, instillation, art pieces etc. . The term was used more in the past, not as popular now.
