I watched the whole video, and loved every second. Completely understood where both sides were coming from, and left happy. Then, I read the comments. Tauba, it's so toxic. Say good or don't say anything at all. Dislike the video and move on people.
But awesome video guys, Maa Shaa Allah.
I had a recommendation if I may. The mic was in front of Dr. Hatem's face, probably should have been put to the side, though I can see maybe that was needed because the pitch of his voice comparatively much lower.
Second thing I wanted to request is kind of redundant. I remember listening to a "podcast" you (shaykh Yasir) did with Dr. Hatem about modern finances, but it was over zoom and some parts were difficult to understand. I'd like to request that topic be revisited especially now 2 years later when home prices have risen so much. BarakAllahu feekum!
I know it's easy to say but the critics will keep critiquing, please don't mind them and stay your ground!

The application of Shari'a law is always about practicality. Even in Nigeria, the Muslim-majority states implement only the aspects of Shari'a that are feasible. This is particularly important given that these states still have a significant non-Muslim population.

Alhumdulillah for a very informative discussion. Thank you for emphasizing the conflicts and injustices that occur between working couples and for a woman who sacrifices her career to become a homemaker and encounters the mentioned issues later in life. I greatly appreciate you sharing how best to implement gender interactions especially lowering the gaze, hijab etc,.Please continue to have and share such discussions in more detail in the future in sha Allah.

the example of two working physicians where Dr. Hatem was laughing at the idea of the man splitting but the woman saving up - did it not occur to him that women even after having the same earning potential as that of a man, split their bellies to produce babies and nurse them and look after their for years after, and not the physician husband?
as for the cooking, if it has been decided among the couple prior to marriage that both would cook for themselves and if the woman does lend a helping hand sometimes (remeber she works too) -what's there to luagh about?
did he made that example up to score a point against working women? the later example of a man divorcing a woman after having used her youth and vgina, who gave up career coz she was pushed for marriage, is far more common than the example of a working woman saving her earnings and not spending anything at all on the family (complete lie).

Men of today are not following any one scholar or any one madhab and just picking and choosing religion as they learn it for the first time after university! It’s so difficult for them to believe any hadith or verse. They just want to debate as if they are scholars!

Are we still talking about free mixing? Don't we free mix in society with non Muslims anyway? why should it be an issue amongst ourselves as Muslims? This has caused a gulf between Muslim men and women who are reaching well into their thirties unable to get married and worse having not even had opportunities to ever talk to someone of the other gender for marriage because of this stupid free mixing nonsense. It has made a whole generation awkward and weird when it shouldn't be! It is the most natural thing in the world.
