the library setting is great
It's interesting to see that even though she has been working at Chanel already, the new artistic director's style is now clearly visible, there is a shift. You can tell these clothes were designed by a woman. Beautiful collection. Bravo.
This collection was dedicated to knowledgable women, obviously. Smartness and knowledge are the real beautiful. Thank you Virginie, for showing what Chanel is standing for all the time: women's potential and power

Chic, young and fresh, very wearable, it's a new point of view by Virginie. Karl was Karl of course, but we cannot compare him with Virginie. This is new era of Chanel and I think Virginie do a great job with big respect for Coco and for Karl as well with her own best way. I very admire her. This collection is very Chanel and very Couture.
I think this collection is work of Karl yet.
the accesories presented are only eyewear. Vard respected the tradition and culture of Chanel which made this collection an easy transition to her leadership.
Except this is literally all things Karl did too and even the set is a reference to Karl's own huge library

ARE U CRAZY- IT LOOKS LIKE A TERMITE MOUND
Love the sets. Looks like a giant library. It's like the supermarket, brasserie, ski village and others. Imagine walking into the Grand Palais and seeing that.
I thought they should have had an old train - like the Orient Express - as the backdrop with steam coming out under the train cars. A train conductor starts the show and the models walk out and board the train, Then, like the Chanel Rocket, it moves a bit, and they all disembark at the end.
Simple but very luxurious clothes, wearable but most all we see the french craftmanship at work.
I love this collection. It shows us that Virginie has been there for a long time. We all love Karl but now Virginie has the credit that she deserves. Bravo Virginie!
Exquisite tailored, restrained, refined, paired down...I rarely see a collection which is so consistent in its aesthetic content and expression. I think both Virginie Viard and Maria Grazia Chiuri at Maison Dior are achieving amazing goals in looking at historical inheritance with such a current, cool and skilled gaze
図書館でやるっていう発想がもう素晴らしい。あとシャネルって結構固めのイメージだったけど、6:04のドレスとかすごい着心地良さそう。

6:04のドレスをシャネルが作るってのがもったいない…シャネルにしかない服しか今までKarlは作ってこなかったのに、他でも買えるような形のものがいくつか出てきたのが悲しい。

Many cachectic, long, poor posture, crooked legs with no calves, pigeon toed, not girl not boy ( nothing against androgyny - that could be beautiful too).
Of course the beauty is in the eye of the beholder ...
I would say very few beautiful models. They seem to go for quantity more than “beauty” 😞

This collection is both basic and elegant. Virginie has got a great talent in mixing particular details that make her clothes unique, and basic features that make her clothes wearable in real life.

Something for everyone -- Chanel does not disappoint!
Easy Luxe - the essence of Chanel. It was her whole point, to free women from overwrought clothing. Lovely fresh collection and miles away from Karl's elaborate beading and extreme textiles. Anyone remember his concrete tweed? Real concrete tiles woven into the tweed fabric. This collection actually looks comfortable to wear.

That green dress was also my favorite.
Collection seems to stay very true to Chanel with a very modern elegant touch yet looks comfy and cozy and wearable I wish ! 💕

Honestly...I’m not a big fan of Fall/Winter Haute Couture. I wasn’t a fan of the last Fall/Winter Haute Couture collection either but this one really wowed me. I loved almost everything. I honestly can’t wait to see the Spring/Summer Haute Couture and Métiers D’Art. I want to see Virgine’s version of both of them.

I feel like some of these outfits fell flat. They were pretty much expected. That being said, this is her first collection since Karl. I think she just needs time to come into her own.

Perhaps missing some of the wit and whimsy of Karl but clearly Chanel is in solid, brand respecting sensible hands with this elegant no fuss, very salable solid collection. She is living up to the formidable task of taking over from dear departed KL.

I still have to adept to Virginie , setting is once again magnificent ,pieces towards the end are FAB ,love the long silk dresses , the tuxedo dress is wow ,however ,I ask myself , how will a lady with size 40/42/44 and more look in these clothes .

She's blossoming! We are confident and happy about it. The movement, flow, expertise, subtlety, etc. of these designs are sublime. Of course, no one can come close to compare w/ the late KL; she is a major talent in her own right, otherwise the extraordinarily shrewd and knowledgeable Chanel company and friends would not have trusted her comfortably.

For a second I forgot this was the Haute Couture show....probably the most simple and wearable haute couture show I've ever seen! I loved it all...but not for haute couture. Though HC is more elaborate and detailed craftsmanship, its also functions as an appropriate avenue for the houses to be their most artistic and forward. So this was gorgeous but not what I expected for the HC collection. And all Chanel is high craftsmanship, so really no other risks were taken here.
Edit: Significant improvement to the collection dyring the last 4 or 5 minutes! I adore(!) every evening coat and gown. Still hoping for greater wow factor in the future though.
