Kokum Curry | Panjim | Authentic Kokni Restaurant & Bar | Special Pomfret Thali | Saraswat Cuisine

Hey Guys,
In today's vlog, Aaruta and I are going to visit Kokum Curry - Kokni restaurant with Bar. It is located right in the heart of Panjim city and very close to the famous Panjim church. This is their second branch in Goa with the first one located in Candolim.

Landmark: Opp Municipal Garden and the entrance is right in between Parijat Cosmetics and Hindu Pharmacy.
Sapna Sardessai, Publisher by profession and Partner at Kokum Curry has tried to portray SARASWAT CUSINE which has got an excellent response locally and across is warm and welcoming. She was more than happy to take us inside the kitchen and show the cooking process. It was a delight to watch the preparations which go behind the scenes.
They make use of fresh and local produce like coconut oil (khobrel tel), tamarind (amtaan), kokum (solam), asafoetida (Shankarchhap hing) and schezwan pepper (teffla). The bar menu has a selection of Wines, Breezers, Whisky, Scotch, Bourbon, Rum, Wines along with other beverages. Their mocktails and cocktails are typically Goan with names like Virgin Kokum Mojito, Goan Dry Day, Goan Sunrise, Goan Weekend, Kokum Mojito with kokum syrup. We tried the Goan Dry Day and Virjin Kokum Mojito and it was very refreshing and a perfect drink to have
as it was hot and humid outside.
We also tried the Butterfly prawns with cheese and garlic, the prawns were very fresh, and cheesy and they just melted away in my mouth.
The mussels were super crispy and full of flavors, shallow fried with coconut oil which gave it a fantastic aroma.
The Pomfret Special Thali was delicious. I loved the way it was presented and plated along with a banana leaf at the bottom which made it all the more traditional and authentic. It's altogether a different experience when you have your meals on a banana leaf. The side dishes served were very tasty and it took me back to my grandmother's cooking style, very homely and the quantity was very good. The size of the
Pomfret was big and it was perfectly rawa and fried in a typical authentic Goan style, it was very fresh as well.
The staff is accommodating and cater to your needs. Thanks to Hendric, for giving us very good suggestions, we loved it all.

Thank you for your feedback! glad you loved the food at Kokum Curry. The sweet in the thali is called "Mangane" (Prepared with Sabudana, Dal, grated coconut, jaggery). You will surely find the recipe on TH-cam. Its a traditional and authentic sweet specially prepared during Ganesh Chaturthi and other auspicious Goan festivals.

Amazing, last month i had visited kokum curry and i went for fish thali, but i loved their chicken Thali more then the Fish Thali
