Because it’s the law. You cannot legally show a criminal’s face on TV until they appeal to the charges pressed.
Innocent until proven guilty. Once he is convicted, they'll release his face. More concerning is how long will he get. Should be five years at least.

Of course you can defend your home. You may go to jail after. There’s a difference. The decision has already been made in our household what to do in such situations. Jail time is irrelevant.

If you google-map the daycare facility, it is located near the BC drug den (addiction center). Whoever runs the BC government is brain dead.
It’s simple. Do not enter a daycare unless you have small children. If you enter a daycare for no legitimate reason, then you’re an intruder and don’t belong there.

If you parked your car illegally, how long would it take to get a parking ticket? Probably less than 20 minutes.

Less than 10 seconds. Just stopping the car in downtown Toronto for a minute for pick-up and I received a $60 ticket.

Terrifying yes, but thankfully there were several adults and only one tiny intruder. Police or not, your instincts as a parent should kick in and resolve this issue quite easily. "The intruder is lucky police arrived", should be the attitude. Know your strength folks!
That is terrifying, I'm glad no one was hurt. But why did it take such a long time for the police to arrive? Do they not care of the safety of the children and staff?

Daycares, yes, if it can be done where only the parents can view and it can't be hacked but what about when kids go to the bathroom? You don't want to film in the bathroom, yet that is the place where abuse can easily happen if an abusive adult is in there with them.
When your life can be taken in seconds, the great RCMP are only hours away.
Ridiculous. Even 10 minutes is way too long based on the urgency. RCMP are a waste of time and money and do little to provide safety in communities they serve. Richmond would do well in copying Surrey's transition to a city run police force.

The BC Government strategically positions drug addiction facilities next to daycare facilities. It is not surprising at all to see this happening.

I mean according to google maps, from the police station by No 5 to their day care its 14 min... from the one at Gilbert to their daycare it's 18 min.... 10 min really isn't unreasonable. Maybe the daycare owner should have better security.
