  • Accuracy is arguably one of the most important skills to develop in Action Pistol. I go over my struggle with Accuracy and how I apply the same techniques to improve in USPSA and IDPA.
    Watch till the end on some fun drills I do to refine my accuracy.

    Thank you for sharing your experiences. This kind of perspective is hard to find on youtube. I just shot my first match a couple of weeks ago and I'm hooked.

      I agree… there’s so many new people coming in all the time from what I see that I hope the info is helpful in some manner. I’d love to see more people shooting any form of competition for the sake of getting good trigger time on their firearms…

    Very interesting. 2 years ago at 65 yrs of age, I started training under Frank Garcia at Universal Shooting Academy. Goodness, I could relate to all you went through. My only problem was at my age I dealt with shooters elbow on both arms. Im grinding away but having a blast. Best to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      The funny thing about Mr Garcia… is that he was the one who actually introduced me to Action Pistol through meeting from another hobby.
      Funny you mention the “shooters elbow”… I had that issue in both arms at first… I bought one of those squeeze/grip workout tools as well as worked out my forearms… it corrected itself with time. But good for you for getting in the sport and going after it!

      I dealt with shooter elbow too. But i called it golfers elbow because its on the inside unlike tennis elbow is on the outside of the forearms. It took 9 months for it to go almost away. It is still lingering but i am doing forearm exercise daily. Warming up before gripping really hard or close to max is super important

    For your personal information.
    I almost never click on "ad supported" content.
    After clicking on this , I know that's the best choice.
    If you're going to be ad-supported like this, try teaching basic firearm safety for people who don't already own firearms.

    You know I think one thing a lot of people are confused about when it comes to locking wrists is the feel of the gun in the hand along with how grip pressure is affected by it. That’s one thing I struggle with right now. Maybe a video on practice with locking wrists and gripping the gun with locked wrists ?? I would love to get your insight on it

    • @TheGentlemanGunner

      What your saying is spot on… especially the sensation of what a solid wrist lock is like. @thehumblemarksman has the best explanation on this. Let me see if I can link in the next comment

    I love double taps! I finally got mine to be next to each other at 10 yds consistently! I can’t rapid fire at my local but dbl taps are ok!

    Thanks for sharing. Any issues with blazer brass or blazer aluminum when shooting comp'd or ported guns? Heard it is not recommended or the ammo boxes may have warnings regarding this? Something with disintegrating jackets or shrapnel left in the barrel throwing off accuracy?

    • @TheGentlemanGunner
      @TheGentlemanGunner  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@saintmichael753 I shoot a ton of Blazer 115 Aluminum… the funniest thing is that guns that have had extraction or ejection issues… this ammo clears that’s up (but not on everything)… so if anything it improves reliability in some guns until you can address the issue. That said, I have not seen any issues related cycling, reliability or accuracy… on any gun for that matter. I can’t speak too much to the brass version… but I believe the bullets are the same and the casing wouldn’t be the concern here.
      What I have seen though is coated bullets (gel type) leave a fair amount of residue behind and adhere to the point where cleaning it is next impossible which in turn has had an effect on accuracy.

    Forgive me for not understanding the "Keystone Cops", "trying-to-balance-on-one-foot" thing. A man off-balance is a man at a disadvantage. YMMV.

    • @TheGentlemanGunner
      @TheGentlemanGunner  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s just happens to me when I come into position to hot. Yes you’re unbalanced and not good… but the biggest benefit is understanding what it takes to shoot unbalanced. Now you understand
