Much better? We looked terrible vs Slovakia .. Semi was the only game we looked good and moving to 3 at the back along with Kobbie and Foden as a pure number 10 has all contributed. Southgate has to get a lot of credit for consistently trying to change it to get better performances .. he could of stuck with the system that got us through the group and just hoped we played better . Instead he changed it mid tournament so fair play
Maino got through the defense but he couldn't pass it to Kane because he was behind Maino sitting to deep if Watkins was playing it would have been different.

Gary needs to stop making up rules, it isn't about what he thinks is right or wrong, it is about what's in the rule book.
Uefa released a statement saying it was the correct decision based on the following:
- Rules set by the International Football Association Board (IFAB)
The rule states:
“It is committed with an opponent nearby and prevents the opponent from playing the ball for fear of injury.
“Playing in a dangerous manner involves no physical contact between the players. If there is physical contact, the action becomes an offence punishable with a direct free kick or PENALTY KICK.”
“In the case of physical contact, the referee should carefully consider the high probability that misconduct has also been committed.”

I agree with Neville on the penalty. First and foremost, if that’s given against us I’d be absolutely fuming about it. You can’t stop defenders from trying to block those shots, they already have to try and run around with their arms behind their backs, it’s getting ridiculous!

It's not an clear and obvious error. The game is getting re-refereed and the game as a result is not as good as they used to be.

The sympathy and empathy for 'Gareth' is mind-boggling. "Feel sorry for him", "he has to stay whether we win/lose", "its his decision". I wish pundits would remove their emotions based on the nationality of players/managers. If this was a foreign manager he would be scrutinized and crisitised much more severely. Maybe England can win this time riding on all that luck, but with this mentality its no wonder they'v never been successful despite having an amazing squad.
