    I just can not get this to work. Every time I get to the stage where I try to sync the clips, the auto-align clips option is greyed out. I have tried everything. The worst is when I use the traditional way, the clips are just not syncing, so I was hoping this way would help. Do you have an idea of why the option will not work on the edit page? Using 19 Studio.

    • @CameraTim
      @CameraTim  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So the biggest reason I know that the option is grayed out is if you select multiple clips on the same layer. When you make the selection to sync the clips, make sure you're not accidently selecting clips in the same layer (even if it's just a cut on the same clip). That would be the first thing I'd try, if that's the case, I might need more info on the clips and audio.

  • @RabeChristopher

    would you share that fusion setup you made, that is slick!

    • @CameraTim
      @CameraTim  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I definitely need to rework it with where Resolve is now, especially because it's a very janky tool with what I made it for (not a ton of room for customization), but I do really want to build it out more and start releasing some tools similar to this. That'll probably be a future video! But just as a concept, if you haven't used Custom Controls on nodes, that would be a good place to set custom parameters that can be parented to other adjustments. I might just do a video on that concept right there. *starts writing more ideas*

  • @jessicaangeline
    @jessicaangeline 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So I got my two clips into the multicam view, and I've duplicated the audio channel, but I can't seem to make the second channel actually take the audio from the second video... based on what I saw on your video, you just clicked the channel and clicked "Num 2", "Num 3" but that didn't work for me. Can you be more specific please?

    • @CameraTim
      @CameraTim  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it’s based on wherever layer it’s in within your Multicam clip. So if your second camera audio is on layer 3 inside of your Multicam clip as an example, then you’ll want to set just that audio layer in your normal timeline to Camera 3, because that’s the layer it’s looking at.

    Nice solutions! Thanks.I didn`t know that I can sync more than 2 clips in Davinci.Also thanks for switch to different multicam clip and active selection shortcut! I`m working 2 years as editor and I tapped all the 2 years D key in order to select clip under playhead.Also maybe you know shortcut to select few clips, but select them forward/backward every clip I want to select, not all before/after playhed.
    What is the name of option that pinned for you as (Shift + D)? I can`t find that
    Also, may you write all shortcuts as text? It would be helpful cause some of other shortcuts I can`t find too and I don`t know their names

    • @CameraTim
      @CameraTim  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm glad these tips helped!
      As far as the shortcuts you're asking for, I'm not completely sure what you're referring to with the first one, unless you're talking about selecting a range of clips without selecting everything before/after? I might need more clarification on that one.
      Shift + D is: Select All Clips Under Playhead
      For any of the other shortcuts that show up, what you can actually do is go into the Keyboard Customization tab, and click on that key or keys to see what that shortcut is called. If I don't specify a default binding, then that's the default and should show up for you (outside of C, I only verbally specified that one. The default for Split Clips is Ctrl+\ ).

      @@CameraTim Thanks for your answer I just binned "select clips under playhead".
      About my question to select clips :
      I don't know is it possible, but in my imagination I this option like this:
      I'm selecting one clip with keyboard, hold Ctrl (order to select next neighbor clip forward or backward) and click something.After that second clip is selected and If I wish I click this option from imagination to select next clip)) Now I have 3 clips selected.
      After 2 years I'm using shortcuts against mouse as much as possible.Remember that pain in my right hand when on my start I didn't knew any shortcuts and did almost everything with mouse

    • @CameraTim
      @CameraTim  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@user-yf8tt6ii7o Currently I don't know of a shortcut that does exactly what you're describing. It would have to be in a script at the current state of Resolve. The only one I know of that's close selects the next clip in the timeline but doesn't keep the previous one highlighted. You can find this shortcut when you're in the Keyboard Customization tab under Commands, select Edit, then scroll down to where you see Select, drop that down, and you can add shortcuts for Above, Below, Next, and Previous.

    please excuse the lack of proper terminology in advance, but is there a way to somehow create a "camera view" out of a split screen?
    say, how you switch between camera 1, 2 and 3 by pressing the numbers on the respective numbers on the keyboard in the first example, is it possible to add split screen1 and split screen 2 (from second example) to keyboard number 4 & 5?
    so keyboard number 1,2&3 are the single cameras, and keyboard number 4&5 are split views. but the entire editing is done like in the 1st example, just with the keyboard numbers?
    i so hope this makes sense :D

    • @CameraTim
      @CameraTim  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah, I think I know what you're going for. If I understand correctly, you want a "camera" to be a split screen of multiple cameras. There are a couple ways to do this, but the easiest way would probably be to highlight whichever clips you want to have in your split-screen view, right-click and make it a Compound Clip. Then hold Alt and drag it to a new layer above (so if you had three cameras, you'd drag it to layer four) which will duplicate it. Right-click your original Compound clip, and select Decompose using Clips Only for both video and audio, which will restore your original camera angles. Then you can go into the Compound Clip you created by right-clicking it and select Open In Timeline, then you can position your split screen however you want, then that becomes your fourth angle.

    Stupid question... Are you opening multiple instances of OBS to record the overall feed and your feed?

    • @CameraTim
      @CameraTim  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Not a stupid question at all actually. There are multiple ways I do it, but the primary two are recording the display with my normal OBS canvas, and recording the webcam with the Vertical plugin (and just changing the resolution to match it because you can use horizontal resolutions). I also sometimes just record in-camera as well, especially if it's going to be a shorter video or if I know I'm going to do some GPU-heavy effects.
      There are a few other ways to do it, like using the Source Record plugin, an external recorder (a monitor that records like an Atomos if you have one), or using a second PC if you have one to pull the feed, either with a capture card or NDI. If I need to record OBS itself, I'll just pull the Vertical plugin onto a different monitor and record the screen with that.

      So ensuring your keyboard shortcuts for Cut To and Switch To are different, which sounds like what you’ve already done, would be the first step.
