So true. The number of times that I fell for it in the beginning was crazy. I always loved that there'd be some super-serious news item Robin would be reading, like a school bus full of children that drove off of a cliff, then the Jackie laugh and then Howard saying 'Jackie, come on, this isn't funny. These were innocent children'.

It's always driven me nuts trying to figure out how he finds the sound affect in a split second. Its almost as of the show is taped and Fred adds them in during post production.

Fred is such an underrated genius. I've always wondered how he does what he does so quickly and efficiently. Thanks for posting this!
I always assumed that WE got the show on a 7 second delay, but maybe Fred's sound effects are pushed out in real-time....thus lining up perfectly with a certain situation (while giving him a few seconds to line things up).
Fred is the true MVP. I love that he is so genius about this that he can't explain how he does it. The timing is always impeccable. I still have no idea how he is that good. But that's okay. He's an artist.
Fred has always been my favorite. When he randomly laughs at someone makes me laugh really hard. And his imitations of mark Harris. Pure gold

I remember first catching Fred in middle school because my older brother was into Stern…jump to me being on maternity leave a couple months ago and I ended up listening to Stern for the first time as an adult on my own free accord and hearing Fred again, realized why I remembered him. Quiet yet the loudest voice in the room.
Freddy is a genius period that's how he does it, from the puppets, and sound affects, to his knowledge of everything, pure genius 👏🏻👍🏻✌🏻

Haven't listened to Stern in over 15 years, but Fred's sound effects are etched in my brain! I have many of them on my computer still. "Re-God Damn-Diculous", "FU", "What are you saying?", and "Yes Sir" are among my all time favorites.
Fred’s the sidekick every hero needs! The show couldn’t have become legend it has without Fred! Hats off to him!

I am glad that Gary kept pushing the question on how he actually does it, not in the abstract, but which buttons are you pushing? I wanted to see exactly what Fred was looking at, because he is amazingly fast.
