I really enjoyed looking at this fascinating and beautiful footage of deer in their natural environment without any violence. Peaceful, the way I wish our world could be.
I really hate that my deer wouldn't tolerate me bringing people to walk with us..we are missing so much as I sit with sleeping deer, walk along as they forage, etc.. lot of my experience is hip to shoulder or follow single file behind momma/rear close gaurd.. That's a beautiful buck scratching his antlers..they are very sensitive, not just dead bone! Bucks antlers are very unique.. deer are awsome the more you learn!

Such gorgeous and interesting creatures. I thank God everyday that I get to see them so often near where I live, they are such nice reminders of the beauty of the natural world.
@6:35..Relaxed happy deer..when they don't have take risks to travel & eat, deer are resting, ruminating..relaxing..buck is happy & relaxed..how I love seeing my deer while with them.. I love when they bed down in sightlines formation around me & fall asleep, spend a little time in REM sleep..eyes partially open, ears twitching..then after 3 hours nap, groggily wake up..🥰

I have walked with wild whitetail deer for over two decades and have been blessed by a matriarchal lineage who led to my Zoe being born in my back yard, feisty runt of trips..a smart Momma like hers & G-ma..ive been a family associate, "uncle nanny-bud" and had a special opportunity to live alongside them in their world alongside ours..quite an education! Fawns Rascal & Luna are precious, luv-buds soon to be yearlings, Daisy 2 & Rosie 3.. Zoe 7! 🤯 lucky Momma invited me directly into family, we spend 20 hrs a week together..precious scheduled peaceful time primarily to rest & ruminate together..my recording them falling into REM sleep, precious! You have the daylight deer, I've got so much evening/overnight! I got to document fawns development in ENTIRETY this year!🥰 Keep up the good work friend!
I have a joke. Why did the Deer go to the family reunion? To see his uncles and antlers. (if you didn't get it, by antlers I meant aunties and deer have antlers soooooo yeah.)
My cat is fascinated by deer. We live next to a nature reserve and mule deer walk by our house 2-3 times a night. He sits and waits for them at the windows. I played this video for him and he watched all 10 mins. He even mimicked some of their behavior like head movements and preening. 🥰

I used to confuse the Doe and Deer. The deer are females with antlers. Look like the buck but birth like the doe. This spirit is in skins like Mama and Papa, they are men and women, you think you are.

The shot of dangling velvet is awesome. You have such brief window to catch them in that phase of the antler cycle. Way to go!
I agree. This is the only time I have photographed and filmed a buck shedding his velvet. Was definitely a fun afternoon that day!
