See if you can get to it from Steam. Open up steam, right click on Assetto Corsa, properties, local files, browse. That will open up your root Assetto Corsa folder.

For traffic, the map that you’re on needs to have a traffic file, either that or the server that you’re connected to must have traffic set up. I did a video on how to download and connect to the Shutoko Revival Project server, but make sure you have at least the Japanese car pack DLC for Assetto Corsa first, otherwise it won’t work. I’ve done a regular shutoko and a no hesi shutoko! There are people who subscribe to someone's Patreon for just a month then download whatever content they want to. Of course, you won't get any updates if the creator does post up any updates after your one month Patreon sub ends.

The link you put (down in the comments) is for Sol 2.2.7, but the main link to Sol is for 2.2.9, but when I install that I don't have an option for 'Controller Script', just 'Weather Script' under Settings/Weather FX in CM. This install is now VERY confusing as this video is really out-of-date. Also, when you download 'Exquisite 5.2' it is just a system folder that you drop into the main AC game folder. There is a sol_config file, but I have no idea where to put that as there is no folder under 'user/documents/asseto corsa'. The included install instructions also reference this non-existent folder.

I've tried to detail all this in the comment section but it can end up getting burried amongst all the other comments. Anyway, for the SOL weather, you should be on a newer version of Content Manager (0.8.25) and only have "Weather Style". Step 1: Under Settings --> Custom Shaders Patch --> Weather FX, set "Weather Style" to "Sol". Step 2: In the "Drive" Menu, when selecting the weather type, choose "Sol 2.5 (Sol Planner)" For the sol_config file ; check in your "Documents" folder if you have any "Assetto Corsa" folder. If not, your game file could be installed in some non-standard directory, if so, check the installation drive if there's any Assetto Corsa folder. Hope this helps.

I was able to select all of the Sol settings under the Python App heading, and Sol does show up in-game, but I think something is still wrong. Yes, I have it installed on the D: drive, not C: I do have an Assetto Corsa folder (main game directory). SO you're saying it goes in the 'Documents' folder within the main game directory?
Its a bit late but they changed the controller settings for weather fx and put it to the quick drive weather type seection, what does that mean? Where can I acces that to change it to SOL 2.2?
question regarding the Exquisite PP filter, at the moment of install the latest filter version is 5.1.1 and this version has different settings than the one shown in video, and I can't install/find the filter in content manager, I got to use SOL which make it darker than Exquisite, what can I do ?
hey, i followed all of your steps but i got a black screen in the end. my controls are working and i can hear the gears shifting when i put in the command, but i cant see anything. i tried switching back to the default pp filter but it didnt fix the issue. any help?
Downloading from the link, I don't get the same files you do. The four folders you make reference to are only one. There are no sol options listed in my activated apps page. The controller script never shows up. The only thing that seem to be working is the PP filter. Even the exquisite download doesn't shoe the same file names as your video.
There have been newer versions of SOL and Exquisite since I made this video, the steps are slightly different but still similar enough. For SOL, the Race Department link provided will download a PDF which contains a download link to SOL. The steps to follow will be the same once you download SOL. For Exquisite, the install is the same as my video, but to load the settings presets files, you have to double click on them instead of dragging and dropping in to CM. Hope this helps!
Try extracting the zip archive first using winter, and then installing the mod. I’m not sure why but sometimes it makes a massive difference and other times it doesn’t matter

I’ll haven’t gotten down to installing v5.0 yet, but the filter should work anyway if you select it in Settings -> Assetto Corsa -> Video -> Post-Processing and select Exquisite - SOL. I’ll update again once I’ve installed v5.0 over the next couple of days.
@@gacuss3798 you can double click on those 2 files to load the graphics settings into Content Manager. Make sure to check your display resolution in Assetto Corsa \ video settings after doing so, as the two files will change your graphics settings
You’ll need to register for a free account on racedepartment before you can download the files there. If I remember right, you’ll need to scroll down all the way at the registration page and find the small words to click on for a free account.

There was an update done for Exquisite since this video was made. If you check under Settings \ Assetto Corsa \ Video, under Post-Processing, you should see Exquisite there.
yup exquisite is free. You'll need to sign up for an account at overtake.gg (formerly Racedepartment.com) and you can sign up for a free account, just look out for the small text at the bottom of the sign up page.
The .rar file that you download contains a "system" folder. Just copy that whole folder into your root Assetto Corsa folder and overwrite any files if it asks. Hope this helps!
It does work with Pure, but in my opinion, if you're already on Pure, just go ahead and use Pure or Pure Candy as your filter. Exquisite is a great free alternative, but I feel Pure looks nicer, at least to me.
Yeah the mod creator changed the uploaded file. Now you will download a PDF file and click on the link to download SOL. The presets should still be there and you can double click on them to load them into CM.
Sometimes there are glitches during the install of either CSP or SOL. Do a clean uninstall of SOL and then CSP, making sure to delete any files / folders that have the name SOL in it. And then reinstall CSP and test. If that works fine, install SOL and test. Done step by step, you should be able to pinpoint whether it’s CSP or SOL. Hope this sorts it out for you!
haha! that's a great question. I wanted to upgrade my GTX1080 just when GPUs were really hard to come by thanks to crypto miners. I didn't have any plans on going big with a 3090. Hell, a 3090 wouldn't even fit my ITX case back then, but that was the only card I managed to snag at retail price! So to fit my GPU, i ended up getting a full sized 011d XL and ended up custom looping it since I now had the space. Turns out the 4790k is still sufficient these days for sim racing even though I'm pretty sure my CPU could be bottle necking my GPU.
They have moved the controller script In a recent updated version of CM. In the “Drive” menu, you should be able to select Sol 2.5 in the Weather drop down list. The free version of custom shaders patch doesn’t have rain effects unfortunately. You’ll need to use a paid preview version of Custom Shaders Patch for rain to show.
The creator of Exquisite has changed the downloaded package. In the current downloaded RAR archive, there will be a "system" folder. Drag the "system" folder into your root Assetto Corsa folder over at \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\assettocorsa
Race Department makes it look like you need to sign up for a paid account, but you can get a free account. Scroll down all the way to the end of their registration page and there will be some text to click on for a free account. Hope this helps!
You can just double click on it and it will ask you if you want to save it. A recent update to sol changed it and it can’t be dragged and dropped now for some reason.
for the exquisite preset load C:\Users\user\Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg\Sol i dont have the sol file in there and i dont understand why bc the sol weather and all the exquisite_sol is loaded on the launcher
The downloaded .rar archive will have the sol_config.ini file. You may need to make sure your file explorer is not hiding your system files (windows hides all .ini files by default i believe). If you did the steps, the file could already be there, just that it's hidden by windows!

@@mitr3193 it’s subtle differences, but look for details such as the tyre smoke, glowing brake discs under heavy braking (on cars that support it), and how street lights (especially on Shutoko) have a star burst look to it instead of just appearing as a light. The easiest way is just to make some massive Smokey donuts and check out the smoke produced. Hope this helps!

When I try to install the he custom shaders pack I have a error, is says ULA utilities in extension/ULA are missing (reinstall patch?) when I try to re install it doesn’t work anybody have a solution?
I’m really not sure why this error happens but I’ve read that some people have solved it by updating content manager to the latest version. If that doesn’t solve it, they’ve tried different CSP versions. Hope this helps!
CSP and SOL should actually make the game run better. Some post processing filters eat up FOS but Exquisite seems ok from my own testing. If you find that your FPS drops too much, you can always turn off some features of CSP, starting with "ExtraFX".

I have Exquisite_PURE showing up in my PPF, but not Exquisite_SOL. Any idea why? Also, I now can't change weather mid-session, have I missed if there are any limits of what the filter can do or something?
Try to remove the old ppfilters first. Go to Steam folder -> steamapps -> common -> assettocorsa -> system -> cfg -> ppfilters and delete all .ini-files that contains "Exquisite" then re-install Exquisite again. If the install went well, you should see "EXQUISITE - SOL.ini" in steamapps -> common -> assettocorsa -> system -> cfg -> ppfilters For the weather script, check that your Controller Script is set to Sol 2.2, and your Weather Script is Sol. After that make sure you change the PP filter in Settings -> Assetto Corsa -> Video -> Post-Processing and select Exquisite - SOL. Hope this helps!
Make sure you have Content Manager installed, followed by Custom Shaders Patch (use the latest untested version which is v1.79 now) and lastly SOL. After that you should be able to install any PP Filter that you wish to. Sometimes different mods can mess up some config files and so on. I usually do a fresh install of AC every now and then and only reinstall the mods that i really like, starting from a clean slate.

I guess you’re talking about the post processing filter? Yeah you can easily change post processing filters in the settings if you don’t like it. If you really don’t like it and want to uninstall, you can delete it fairly easily too.
This could be tricky. First off, try changing the time of day! For some reason, my time of day setting doesn’t always correspond to real life: 12 noon can be dark, 8pm could be bright, etc. Try deleting off any existing / old PP filters and restarting content Manager. If that doesn’t work, it’s usually easier to just do a fresh install of AC and reinstall the mods you want, rather than messing with CSP / PP settings and testing them out one by one.
I just saw that a newer version of Exquisite has been released since I made this video. Let me check it out and see if anything’s changed with regard to the installation.
It’s quite normal to lose some FPS depending on the post processing filter. If the drop is too much, you could just leave it on SOL instead of Exquisite.
It’s free, you just have to sign up for a free account on race department to download it. They make it difficult for you to spot the free account but the option is there.
I've messed around with my Neck FX settings quite a bit and I think I may have reset them coz I made too many changes. I find that Neck FX makes for more engaging cockpit view replays but it can be quite a distraction during actual gameplay. You're need to use content manager. Sometimes some people comment that drag and drop doesnt work for them with Content Manager, but if all else fails you could install it manually. Which mod are you trying to install? I could list the steps to do a manual install if that helps.

I would say that it’s likely the wifi. Some servers will auto kick if your lag is too high. I used to run AC on an i5 4590 (non-K) with 16Gb of DDR3 and that ran well for online lobbies. Is it possible to run a cable to your router direct, so that there’s no need for wifi?

Yeah the ping is likely the problem man. Hard to drive when the ping is so high. Maybe you can try connecting to servers in Asia / Singapore and see if that helps.

Try in unzipping the files first before dragging into content manager. I’m not sure why but sometimes it’s fine with compressed archives and sometimes it just doesn’t play nice. Hope this helps!
no you dont, but i thought so too. you have to go down to the bottom of the page where it says something like "set up free account here" and you have to actually click the word "here" in the text as it is a disguised link. they try to get you to spend money on an account when it gets you nothing. lmk if u need any more help :)
That should actually be ok to run this comfortably. Have you turned up all the graphics settings? Make sure you're running 1080p display resolution at the minimum too.

The link you put (down in the comments) is for Sol 2.2.7, but the main link to Sol is for 2.2.9, but when I install that I don't have an option for 'Controller Script', just 'Weather Script' under Settings/Weather FX in CM. This install is now VERY confusing as this video is really out-of-date. Also, when you download 'Exquisite 5.2' it is just a system folder that you drop into the main AC game folder. There is a sol_config file, but I have no idea where to put that as there is no folder under 'user/documents/asseto corsa'. The included install instructions also reference this non-existent folder.
Yeah unfortunately the updates to Content Manager / SOL / Exquisite aren't consistent and can change up the menu's quite substantially. I've tried to detail all this in the comment section but it can end up getting burried amongst all the other comments.
Anyway, for the SOL weather, you should be on a newer version of Content Manager (0.8.25) and only have "Weather Style".
Step 1:
Under Settings --> Custom Shaders Patch --> Weather FX, set "Weather Style" to "Sol".
Step 2:
In the "Drive" Menu, when selecting the weather type, choose "Sol 2.5 (Sol Planner)"
For the sol_config file ; check in your "Documents" folder if you have any "Assetto Corsa" folder. If not, your game file could be installed in some non-standard directory, if so, check the installation drive if there's any Assetto Corsa folder.

I was able to select all of the Sol settings under the Python App heading, and Sol does show up in-game, but I think something is still wrong.
Yes, I have it installed on the D: drive, not C: I do have an Assetto Corsa folder (main game directory). SO you're saying it goes in the 'Documents' folder within the main game directory?

Hey Owen you'll need to use 7z to unzip the file. A few mods insist on using this instead of Winrar / Winzip in order to minimise any corrupted files.

question regarding the Exquisite PP filter, at the moment of install the latest filter version is 5.1.1 and this version has different settings than the one shown in video, and I can't install/find the filter in content manager, I got to use SOL which make it darker than Exquisite, what can I do ?
The latest downloaded version has presets that you can double click on. Doing so will load the settings into Content Manager.
The presets will be part of the archive that you downloaded from Race Department. It should show up as two separate files if I remember right.

hey, i followed all of your steps but i got a black screen in the end. my controls are working and i can hear the gears shifting when i put in the command, but i cant see anything. i tried switching back to the default pp filter but it didnt fix the issue. any help?

Downloading from the link, I don't get the same files you do. The four folders you make reference to are only one. There are no sol options listed in my activated apps page. The controller script never shows up. The only thing that seem to be working is the PP filter. Even the exquisite download doesn't shoe the same file names as your video.
There have been newer versions of SOL and Exquisite since I made this video, the steps are slightly different but still similar enough.
For SOL, the Race Department link provided will download a PDF which contains a download link to SOL. The steps to follow will be the same once you download SOL.
For Exquisite, the install is the same as my video, but to load the settings presets files, you have to double click on them instead of dragging and dropping in to CM.

Try extracting the zip archive first using winter, and then installing the mod. I’m not sure why but sometimes it makes a massive difference and other times it doesn’t matter

I’ll haven’t gotten down to installing v5.0 yet, but the filter should work anyway if you select it in Settings -> Assetto Corsa -> Video -> Post-Processing and select Exquisite - SOL.
I’ll update again once I’ve installed v5.0 over the next couple of days.

Make sure to check your display resolution in Assetto Corsa \ video settings after doing so, as the two files will change your graphics settings

There was an update done for Exquisite since this video was made. If you check under Settings \ Assetto Corsa \ Video, under Post-Processing, you should see Exquisite there.

yup exquisite is free. You'll need to sign up for an account at overtake.gg (formerly Racedepartment.com) and you can sign up for a free account, just look out for the small text at the bottom of the sign up page.

The .rar file that you download contains a "system" folder. Just copy that whole folder into your root Assetto Corsa folder and overwrite any files if it asks. Hope this helps!

It does work with Pure, but in my opinion, if you're already on Pure, just go ahead and use Pure or Pure Candy as your filter.
Exquisite is a great free alternative, but I feel Pure looks nicer, at least to me.
The Cmpreset file wasn't in my file for the pp filter for some reason
Yeah the mod creator changed the uploaded file. Now you will download a PDF file and click on the link to download SOL. The presets should still be there and you can double click on them to load them into CM.

Sometimes there are glitches during the install of either CSP or SOL.
Do a clean uninstall of SOL and then CSP, making sure to delete any files / folders that have the name SOL in it.
And then reinstall CSP and test.
If that works fine, install SOL and test.
Done step by step, you should be able to pinpoint whether it’s CSP or SOL.

Why you have a 3090 with a 4790k?
haha! that's a great question. I wanted to upgrade my GTX1080 just when GPUs were really hard to come by thanks to crypto miners. I didn't have any plans on going big with a 3090. Hell, a 3090 wouldn't even fit my ITX case back then, but that was the only card I managed to snag at retail price! So to fit my GPU, i ended up getting a full sized 011d XL and ended up custom looping it since I now had the space. Turns out the 4790k is still sufficient these days for sim racing even though I'm pretty sure my CPU could be bottle necking my GPU.

The creator of Exquisite has changed the downloaded package. In the current downloaded RAR archive, there will be a "system" folder. Drag the "system" folder into your root Assetto Corsa folder over at \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\assettocorsa

You can just double click on it and it will ask you if you want to save it. A recent update to sol changed it and it can’t be dragged and dropped now for some reason.

for the exquisite preset load C:\Users\user\Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg\Sol i dont have the sol file in there and i dont understand why bc the sol weather and all the exquisite_sol is loaded on the launcher
The downloaded .rar archive will have the sol_config.ini file. You may need to make sure your file explorer is not hiding your system files (windows hides all .ini files by default i believe).
If you did the steps, the file could already be there, just that it's hidden by windows!

What track did you try it on? Some tracks (though seldom) don’t have CSP support.
@@play_by_ear I tried akina downhill, shutoko revival project and the stock tracks that come with the game
@@mitr3193 it’s subtle differences, but look for details such as the tyre smoke, glowing brake discs under heavy braking (on cars that support it), and how street lights (especially on Shutoko) have a star burst look to it instead of just appearing as a light.
The easiest way is just to make some massive Smokey donuts and check out the smoke produced. Hope this helps!

It should be there if you have custom shaders patch (CSP) installed. Did you manage to successfully get CSP installed?
When I try to install the he custom shaders pack I have a error, is says ULA utilities in extension/ULA are missing (reinstall patch?) when I try to re install it doesn’t work anybody have a solution?
I’m really not sure why this error happens but I’ve read that some people have solved it by updating content manager to the latest version. If that doesn’t solve it, they’ve tried different CSP versions. Hope this helps!

CSP and SOL should actually make the game run better. Some post processing filters eat up FOS but Exquisite seems ok from my own testing. If you find that your FPS drops too much, you can always turn off some features of CSP, starting with "ExtraFX".

Give it a try with your current settings first and see how you like it.
If you feel it needs some tweaking, the creator of the mod has shifted the presets for different settings to weblinks which you can click on and "Apply" in CM.

I have Exquisite_PURE showing up in my PPF, but not Exquisite_SOL. Any idea why? Also, I now can't change weather mid-session, have I missed if there are any limits of what the filter can do or something?
Try to remove the old ppfilters first. Go to Steam folder -> steamapps -> common -> assettocorsa -> system -> cfg -> ppfilters and delete all .ini-files that contains "Exquisite" then re-install Exquisite again.
If the install went well, you should see "EXQUISITE - SOL.ini" in steamapps -> common -> assettocorsa -> system -> cfg -> ppfilters
For the weather script, check that your Controller Script is set to Sol 2.2, and your Weather Script is Sol.
After that make sure you change the PP filter in Settings -> Assetto Corsa -> Video -> Post-Processing and select Exquisite - SOL.

@@play_by_ear I deleted all pp filters and installed again. They are non existent. i tried downloading it again no luck i have no pp filters at all.
Make sure you have Content Manager installed, followed by Custom Shaders Patch (use the latest untested version which is v1.79 now) and lastly SOL.
After that you should be able to install any PP Filter that you wish to.
Sometimes different mods can mess up some config files and so on. I usually do a fresh install of AC every now and then and only reinstall the mods that i really like, starting from a clean slate.

I guess you’re talking about the post processing filter? Yeah you can easily change post processing filters in the settings if you don’t like it. If you really don’t like it and want to uninstall, you can delete it fairly easily too.
How do i fix buggy black sky?
This could be tricky. First off, try changing the time of day! For some reason, my time of day setting doesn’t always correspond to real life: 12 noon can be dark, 8pm could be bright, etc.
Try deleting off any existing / old PP filters and restarting content Manager.
If that doesn’t work, it’s usually easier to just do a fresh install of AC and reinstall the mods you want, rather than messing with CSP / PP settings and testing them out one by one.

It’s quite normal to lose some FPS depending on the post processing filter. If the drop is too much, you could just leave it on SOL instead of Exquisite.

Could you share neck fx settings?
I've messed around with my Neck FX settings quite a bit and I think I may have reset them coz I made too many changes. I find that Neck FX makes for more engaging cockpit view replays but it can be quite a distraction during actual gameplay.

You're need to use content manager. Sometimes some people comment that drag and drop doesnt work for them with Content Manager, but if all else fails you could install it manually. Which mod are you trying to install? I could list the steps to do a manual install if that helps.

I would say that it’s likely the wifi. Some servers will auto kick if your lag is too high.
I used to run AC on an i5 4590 (non-K) with 16Gb of DDR3 and that ran well for online lobbies.
Is it possible to run a cable to your router direct, so that there’s no need for wifi?

Yeah the ping is likely the problem man. Hard to drive when the ping is so high. Maybe you can try connecting to servers in Asia / Singapore and see if that helps.

The copying of sol into asc needs so long is that normal i have a samsung m2 980 pro but it is needing for 500mb 10 hours
Try in unzipping the files first before dragging into content manager. I’m not sure why but sometimes it’s fine with compressed archives and sometimes it just doesn’t play nice. Hope this helps!

That should actually be ok to run this comfortably. Have you turned up all the graphics settings? Make sure you're running 1080p display resolution at the minimum too.
