    I could listen to this man's teachings all day, every day. Listening to them should most definitely be considered appreciated experiences, imo.

    "I prefer not to prefer." And "I prefer to live only in the current moment." Are these preferences self-contradictory, or valid?
    Maybe the restatement is, "I choose not to prefer." And "I choose to live only in the current moment."
    Comments anybody?

    If a child is having that kind of reaction to getting a shot that should DEFINITELY not be ignored. That's literally abuse. Forcing someone against their own self interest and will. And we talk about these things like they're normal. Absolutely disgusting.
    It's very easy to become disassociated with this kind of practice. At the end of the day we are Humans. We came here to have a Human experience, which includes feeling to a very large extent. You can try to bypass that all you want but you will not become a content or integrated person that way.

      @BrockLanders 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Perhaps going to the dentist to get a cavity filled would have been a better example. His point was that our imaginations typically create problems about future events that often times don’t turn out to be as bad as we thought they would. He’s not actually suggesting people should force children to do things against their will. He’s asking you not to take the scenario literally, but to read between the lines.

    • @Sdenz23
      @Sdenz23 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @BrockLanders Thank you for your reply. I understand what he is attempting to portray here. I also stand by what I said. We have emotions for a very good reason. And we need to be able to feel into them to discover what they are trying to convey to us. Anyone can learn how to brainwash themselves into higher states of consciousness temporarily. But to be a truly integrated human, feeling through all of our triggers and deeply buried traumas is a necessary step.
      We should be teaching people how to become comfortable moving through strong emotions imo, not new ways of escaping them.

      True, was a terrible example. Mr Singer is great but his nutritional and medical ideas are not his strength.

    Help me understand. So preference leads to suffering, got that, I had been thinking about stoic preferred indifference but see how that would still be a problem.
    The solution. Accept each moment coming in with a 'good'. Somehow there's something i'm doing which I need to stop doing. I need some more help to understand this part.
    The guy ran a billion dollar company, and did it without preferences. At this point I don't see how it's possible. Need to go back to the Surrender Experiment to understand.
    Otherwise sounds great! 😊

    How can I get rid of my preferences if my job is designing? Or an architect? it’s all about executing a well thought out and refined preference. Does anyone have thoughts about this? I’d like to open a discussion. Thank you 🙏

    • @jonashjerpe7421
      @jonashjerpe7421 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This is the ultimate question and I am surprised that he doesn't speak about it. The solution is about identity. You are not the one choosing, but the conscious presence itself that can be aware of choices. Take thr backward step and watch yourself. You will notice that the body makes choices in and of itself in the present moment; you don't have to go around to purposefully trying to get and to avoid life experiences.

      You just have fun flipping the coin bro! Life will tell ya what it wants, just do that with 100 percent focus and no expectations and all will turn out well or it won’t😂 it does not matter anyway. Everything turns just interesting and mysterious. Best way to live!

    Very good. Funny about the booster shots though… not a great time to go with the flow. Although an early cardiac event from the clot shot may be what the universe intended?
