@@minglifeng2862 I think they meant less popular meaning not well known around the world. Most people in other countries will not know what/where Elmhurst is. I am Asian as well.

Great video! This was the neighborhood that i lived in from 1949-1958. At that time it was German, Irish and Italian. As I see the vast majority of the residential area has not changed.

The lady didn't want to be on camera. Doesn't she realize that she's on about a dozen different cameras at any given time just walking down the street? Video cameras are EVERYWHERE now. If you don't want to be on them, then stay home and pull the shades down!

The walk through Elmhurst was great. It is a microcosm of New York City and was mentioned in the National Geographic as the most multicultural neighborhoods in the country with more than 150 languages spoken. There are abundant and excellent restaurants in Elmhurst, many are Asian as the narrator pointed out but there are many Latino eateries representing Central and South American cuisine. I lived there for many years and I very much enjoyed visiting the old neighborhood.

cool! Roosevelt Ave station is my station too, moved here only in March so I'm still quite new to the area. Trying to explore more myself too. I took that same walk twice, thanks for the food recommendations (I'm too shy to simply enter a place without knowing about it beforehand either from yelp or other people, plus the language barrier is scary too lol). I also like the vietnamese sandwiches from Joju, you passed it by on the other side of the street. Anyway, thanks again for showing me around my neighborhood!

My old neighborhood 😔, put a sad face b/c Broadway Park is down. I was kinda hoping you were going to turn & walk towards 82nd street or Forley Street (around that area)
I lived on Forley Street for most of my childhood & attended PS 89
I so appreciate people like you who take the time to walk around Queens.
When I was younger … walking from Forley St. to Broadway Park or from NewTown HS area to 82nd street was an everyday thing
Now I’m older & live on Long Island, where very few people believe in walking at all
    So, thanks again
& if u could go by NewTown HS & that big hill over there (& there was St. Barts over the hill) … & down further, I think was/is Bittern Avenue, towards PS 89

They turned the building into residential units and retail and community space on the lower floors but has remained empty even though residential spaces are in such high demand in Queens. The locals are CREEPED OUT! I only know of one daycare facility as their tenant. I guess they are waiting for NYC newbies who weren't here when it was a hospital. Creepers!

  • @AlexFG24

I wonder how the districts of New York differ from one another. This is not so in Moscow. Perhaps you already guessed that I am Russian from Moscow :)
So, in Moscow, expensive housing and social housing are distributed evenly throughout the city. Because of this, there is no feeling that one area is flourishing and the other is in decline. Areas differ only in years of development. In the center of the house of the 19th century, closer to the outskirts of the city of the 21st century. And even more interesting is that during the Soviet era standard houses were built throughout the country. Just a few types. The building areas of the 60-80s are very similar.
