I know its a three-year-old comment, but the violin and cello both have their own place, I'm a violin player, so obviously, I'm gonna defend violin, but you're right, cello for this is definitely a better option!
beautiful, beautiful, so beautiful, there are no words to exprese how beautiful this music is... Magics, misty woods, bright and far moons, owls crying, undefined wishes, love hesitations, mystical skies, woman's hair shinning under the moon light, the fresh air touching our skin in unknown wet woods, harmonia between human and Nature... What else could be emerged in our imagination while listening Green sleeves?
miguel angel fuentes flores - As beautiful as the music are your comments. As I read them, I could imagine all that you have described. Almost a poetry.
yeah, when Henry VIII was young he didn't want to be king and wasn't raised as one, unlike his brother Author. Henry wanted to be a singer, dancer, musician, etc. And he learnt to play flute with his mother, since his father was busy training Author. Greensleeves was composted my him in his early years, when he was with Anne, during the Tudors...
Yeah, that was my best shot at arranging it by ear. I've just updated it and fixed a few things musically (though I'm sure it's still full of bad writing and musical mistakes); you can find that here: musescore.com/user/162972/scores/4011951
Beautiful arrangement... however, I must admit I had a slight.. "Hannibal Lecter"-moment in the beginning. That cellist should not have cut off the melody which falls on the lyrics "...to cast me of discourteously." That last word would have been swollen, had it been sung, and it did not compliment the song one bit for him to cut it off like this. Please feel free to argue against me on this matter, I am but a perfectionist. Still - very beautifully performed nonetheless.
+Shaeith You already said lyrics were "sung", but here instruments were playing. Phrasings by vocal and instruments (especially by an instrument which doesn't really need to take a breathe) can be different.
I enjoy the cut note as I couldn't predict so it was a pleasant shock/suprise and a now when I listen to other versions I miss the missing note, and on a cello to best instrument to be missing notes with as it could of been there but was such a deep tone you may not of heard it
I liked the piece, but it sounds more like a shady recorder than flute. I was confused by that. I wonder if it's her embouchure that's causing it to sound that way.
The music from Harp really comes from Heaven.
The cello is a much better choice than violin for this piece. Beautifully done.
Ceylaan Blue Someone who finally gets that cello is generally a beautiful instrument and we should stop sticking to the violin.

They found the heel though😭 bastards tricked me again😭

running along the edge of the woods, curious about what lies inside, gazing into the depths, while being warm and safe in the gentle afternoon light.
My favorite clip on all of TH-cam.
Abartmayın AMK
The flute lends a lightness to what is a heavy song. All cello is my favorite for this song by I like this one because of the flute.
Nos faz refletir a vida e nos leva a uma leveza de espírito.
I was teleported to a heavenly realm!
I complain about everything. And I don't have any complaints about their version and execution of greensleeves. Most satisfying to listen to.
One of the best performance of this peace
My favorite version of Greensleeves. I'll play this version with my group. Congratulations!
That flute added something else to the perfection which you cannot simply put your hands on. It's subtle and very beautiful.
Decades ago, I was listening. Now I can solo it by using violin piano or cello. Hopefully, I can have a family team like that in a decade latter.

First a song involving Henry and Anne
now a Christmas carol.
A song to represent the ghost of Christmas Past who can be depicted as a female.

in order to get the best sound out of that flute it must be parallel to the ground sloppy posture

The flute ruined it for me
She was hella flat. Her flute did kind of ruin it, here.
