The new armor system is also great for punishing players who rat and play late game. They're stuck on whites since they haven't done much in the match, so they're already at such a disadvantage compared to teams that actually played the game.
It's gonna also strikes more fear into me when I see a team with red shield 7 minutes off drop😂😂
Maybe they wouldn't rat if there werent players who get purple off the drop and proceed to murder 5 to 10 white shield players and have red armor super early in the game. also what are they going to do about teaming? I have ran it to it alot recently. I even screen recorded two teams doing it. They were gangin up on everybody in the lobby. at the end both teams dropped all their guns and heals and used melee until one team won. The first time I noticed it we were caught between two teams late game but those teams wouldn't shoot at each other. So spectated them until the end. After that I have seen several more times.
@@ChrisHaynes-ds6rp They literally nerfed the drop rate of purple shields two seasons ago so this rarely ever happens.
You missed the part where upgrading your armor is as simple as using harvesters and scanning beacons
@@kardez506 Didn't the video just say that you can only crafters once now before being forced to find a new one? And scanning beacons aren't very common and can only be used once per ring. Not sure how many rats will actually benefit from these new changes (which is a good thing)
I spent way too much money on this game and was feeling pretty shitty thinking I would never come back after THE FINALS came out. THIS actually interested me. The rank system is why I left. I loved this game so much. I have never stopped playing Apex for this long. Maybe s20 will keep me reeled in. Been faithful since day 1 and plan on doing so with positive changes.
this another L season imma just start investing in The finals BP its more rewarding in every way possible.

And plus The Finals is already dead so you might as well make your way back over to daddy Apex. As fun as the finals is, it's just no where near as good or smooth. They have no real lore unless you like Easter egg hunting, no relatable characters, gunplay feels infinitely worse, matchmaking is SO much worse over there that it makes me WANT to come back to Apex matchmaking and be happy about it.
@AtomicPiggly no the finals isn't dead. That's just your opinion. The finals is very smooth. It feels way more stable than Apex.

@@imtoxiq_ The new perk system that bring new dynamics between characters and ALGS comps, the fact you can armor swamp for a purple to white but not really loose your purple, solo rats in ranked will be way harder to pull of also solo Q brain dead ranked teamates will have to play as an actual team with randoms to havea chance of winning etc etc
As a Season 0 player, Cyrpto main ive loved Apex to death like I loved Titanfall. Unfortunately I quit around Season 17 because the game was become too stressful, ranked sucked, and EA wasnt innovative anymore. This makes me happy to see that there might be a chance to come back!

the leveling system is similar to the augments in fortnite but adapted to fit apex and its class based nature. very cool

@@mello8919True, but these changes are so impactful it is going to fundamentally change the way that we play the game. Aggressive players will still be aggressive and opportunistic people will still remain but the way combat itself is approached and your playstyle within it will change dramatically depending on the perk loadouts.
the perk system is alot like fortnite's but better because of the leveling up to get them instead of just getting them the longer you play the match
They should be cool as long as their not op. They augments in Fortnite aren’t that powerful so hopefully these aren’t either.
I do think a few legends will be op to start with but I do feel the devs were smart bringing in perks because it would be easier for them to nerf or buff a perk than change a whole kit like they did with revenant.

Agreed. I appreciate that I can get to red and not have to risk losing it if I have to swap
and if you die your temates can't steal the armor but you might start out lower I have no idea

i legit quit the game when the rank system changed but recently have got back into it, and this excited me heavily
Looks like I might be coming back to try apex again, the fact that they're adding the feature of "dropping and not meeting a player who got lucky with a purple armor" is a HUUUUGE life improvement. Plus, seeing all these interesting perks looks kinda juicy so let's see if my rusty hands can have some more fun again.
i must say the shield core system takes a bit of the risk out by swapping from a for example empty red shield to a full blue shield by not being able to heal it to red again
They say they are removing digital threats from smgs but showed one on the alternator on the brand new trailer they just dropped lol
Maybe they switched alternator to an AR. Because they only got rid of digi threat on SMG's not all together. And wouldn't even be close to the first time a weapon has changed classifications.

The armor changes are welcomed and seem good tbh, only thing I wonder about is if you can still drop your armor for downed teammates to shield swap when revived, and rank seems like it’ll actually involve skill also the perk system seems like it’s gonna add a new layer of skill
Good question, but I believe it's gonna be the same way as taking it from a death box or you can't drop shields at all idk.

You know I always had an idea in my head that we should be able to customize the abilities differently and I’m excited that’s what we’re gettting! Hopefully they add more or change them around overtime!

5:11 promotions trial are the worst thing ever. Im stuck in diamon one because i cant get the win in the trial. And if you fail the trial they took of you 300 rp!!! Its to much, and the matches in diamon 1 are extremely hard, 14 squads in the lasts rings is crazy i never saw matches like that, even in KC i see that lol
It sucks a lot when you are playing Solo, with made squad is not even that bad.
Damn, this seems like such a monumental improvement to the core gameplay. Very encouraging to see an already successful game keep evolving!
if you watch the trailer lifeline already has the melee weapon in hand before the loba ult, maybe new heirloom or universal one?

@@jaedanquesnel4405 I thought the reason why they got rid of ranked was cuz ppl were mad they were hard stuck plat or gold and couldn't rank. So they changed it to make it possible for everyone to rank up if they invested enough time. Now they reverted back? I don't understand lol
I suspect they might bring Jack cooper in because of the time gauntlet but who knows. My theory has always been that horizon would always need to work with wraith and Jack cooper to fix a time gauntlet so she could go back in time
I don't think Cooper knows how it works he just found it on Anderson's hand and used it but Sarah Briggs on the other hand might be more useful because she's the one who gave it to Anderson
She is never going to go back in time. That'll be the sad ending of her story when it concludes. They'll find a way into the past but doing so will cause tons of other issues in the attempt and Horizon will have to let go and accept the fact that she'll never get to see her son again. Because, if they REALLY go down the time travel route they have a lot of other lore implications that can be changed/addressed. I'm sure A LOT if not ALL the legends would want to use that tech to improve on things in their past. Because almost all of them had some form of major tragedy happen and wish they could fix. So in order to stop all those crazy plot holes that would be possible, I can bet my nuts Horizon will never actually be able to time travel.
@@AtomicPiggly maybe she will but she wouldn't be able to "stay" in the past, she gets to talk to her son explain what happened and say their goodbyes. or maybe she could visit more frequently but the thing needs some special fuel that's expensive so she still needs to compete in the games to able to afford to time travel
Horizon goes back in time and instead of getting her son she brings back forge 😎😎😎

Yeah TGM awesome video but i didnt understand the Digi on SMGs part. You said they wont be ablz to be attached on SMG in order to countzr the smokz meta? Wont it to the opposite?
I think in comp the issue is Bangalore makes it impossible to fight them if they have a digi. This helps her smoke serve as a screen while also blocking her own mate’s sightlines
As a day one player, i think the last time they changed the entire core of the game was adding evo shields... its been a while. Im stoked
lol in the beginning when he was shooting the loba and then Newcastle throws a shield out and blocks his shots, story of my apex life… Two dudes shooting one guy and throws a shield lol, gave loba a chance to run away

This actually got me interested and now I'm actually excited for the new season. This seems like it'll be the best season out of all of the others.

i was a bit on the fence about the armor changed, but this video clarifying the system out won me over. also glad the ranked system is reverting. this season was too much of a grind. i stopped at gold (im at the least a plat player), because it asked me to fork over way too much time
But when you shoot someone what color armor do they present? It’ll mess up vantages and ranked callouts a ton. And what about gold shields 🥲
those new arenas remind me of The Finals style of the maps
Merchant I'm confused about the whole no more digi threat on smg thing. I've heard leakers say that change is coming as well but you can clearly see an alternator with a digi threat in the trailer. So will there be an exception for care package weapons or does just the alternator get to still have digi threat.
2:23 I hope this Lifeline perk is very rare, so that we don't have 10 teams sitting around with free Krabers every game
I'm on the fence with this new update. Not talking about the ranked system I'm glad for that but the changes is gonna be hard to adjust
On the flip side adjusting and playing with new combinations day 1 will be a lot of fun.
Inevitably there will be some broken combinations that take over the meta until the get nerfed, so that will be annoying but as long as it’s not Conduit I don’t care. I’m so tired of fighting a Conduit on every team.
The perks I fear might cause really broken legend compositions later on. Give the pros a few weeks to cook and there will be new legends that everyone plays because of the new perks. Yes it'll be fresh but Im predicting they'll have to nerf/change some of the perks.

@thegamingmerchant I can understand the config issue when its for no recoil, auto armor swap, etc. But to me the tapstrafe config seemed to just level the playing field between MnK and roller. sure roller has AA but respawn nerfed AA for S20. MnK still can loot a deathbox while moving while roller cant tapstrafe or move while looting. it just feels wrong to me. I feel like there should be changes implemented next season to address MnK exploits that weren't intended by the developers also.

This is very complicated for me (OG) for a new player WAY TOO much. I have played with people who don't even know how lifeline works. I bet you are EXCITED Mr Merchant, because you are brilliant at the game. This only widens the gap between great players and 3 stack teams over the average skill solo que players (me). They just need a couple of tweaks to make it totally impossible for a solo que player to play. I'm done.

I always thought lifeline ability should be self res as her drone is attached to her. So I like that, the perk systems will really change the game just need to see what the perks are for each legend. Also Lulu mentioned something about how she liked the wraith change on her stream. I want to know what the wraith change is

There is actually an item or a story item in titanfall 2 that allowed jack cooper to go back in time I’d be cool if they brought it to apex as some sort of relic or a way to help horizon
I think the new armor system is a great idea because you have something exciting in exchange like special perks. So far I think for a long time that Apex can be reborn a little bit more fun

mmr and promotions really killed ranked this season i have some hopes it might actually be playabale again...
Then we would at least have one version of BR that is fun to play.
I'm not sure I love the changes yet, as things like dinging an orange shield (or purple early on) and knowing if I chase them down it will be a big power spike for my team if we kill them is cool. But the new systems also seem pretty rad so I'll just have to see.
That being said as someone who plays solo with randoms, it's gonna be even more annoying when a jump master drops as far from other plays as humanly possible, and your two teammates slow loot.

OMG I stopped playing cuz of the long mm time and then I just get pooped on by absolute gods but these new game modes are really interesting. And I can spectate and don't have to get in the lobby after every game.

they removed shields, but did they remove the very useful level 1 helmets and knockdown shields. Hopefully not, because those are my main items I land on and can't have me get anything else. Can't forget finding the lv1 backpack too.
I am so exited for old ranked system, kills = points, when i have bad team and got kills i’ll get points, now i have bad team i have 6 kills and got -40 lp because we died too soon

Despite all its flaws…there’s just no other FPS game out right now that’s as intense and satisfying and fun as Apex Legends. And now after never giving up on the game Respawn rewards us with all of this. I’m so hyped I wanna cry. 120FPS finally !!!!!! 😭😭😭😭

I just don't get the devs. I don't use configs, but I am glad they are removing them. But alongside that, why not just remove tap strafing and neo strafing altogether? They're inaccessible and only done by binding things to stupid crap like unhinging your scroll wheel or whatever lol. Either make strafing accessible by just having it literally be a turn while jumping like in original source engine games or just remove it altogether. Make it make sense
