Blown away. I'm currently stuck with a 24mm 2.8 and this 28-60mm kit lens. These TH-cam videos are making me reconsider the thing, altogether. Great shots, guy. I've been practicing my long exposures as of late... Once I can get a workflow in Lightroom, I'll be gold. Very inspirational. Thank u 🥞❤️
Ahhh man, I feel your pain! I genuinely think the kit lens is super underrated, it’s a varied focal length, fairly light and at night with long exposures and stuff like that the higher aperture doesn’t really affect it (sure f/1.8 would be handy in low light but it doesn’t write the lens off!) 👌 you’ll get your workflow down for sure! 💪
Some of those shots you got were incredible in just one shoot! Nicely done. Have a sony camera with a kit lense on its way and makes me excited to get started to see what I can capture.

Yea I don’t know why some people look down on them so much! 🤷♂️ I am definitely guilty of thinking “I can’t get this images cause I only have the Kit lens”…and most of the time that’s not always true! For the price it can be handy to have something that goes from 28-70mm!
@@Allikkx I shoot alot of low light city shots. And I didn't want the expensive pay out for now lol so watching this has made me order the kit for a real cheap price. I don't post large images or print hardly anything. Just for social media wise which this will more then enough be good for me. Haha
Yea and with the A7s series you can push it pretty hard on ISO without it ruining the image entirely, I guess most of the time it’s what you’re shooting at night that matters! For stars/Astro it might struggle a little (although I might have to try it and see!)
@@Allikkx yeah I'm always in abandoned places so can light or city rooftops so on. And the kit lens probably be good for this until I go crazy with the lens pay out lol. But thanks for the video. Ahhh that’s really cool! Need to shoot some abandoned places! The kit lens is perfect to start up with before paying out a tonne for expensive glass, not having the expensive lens should never be a reason to not shoot for sure! Of course would love to see them, you can tag me on insta @allikkx_ Be great to see some shots! 🙌
With any other brand of camera paired with that lens, those shots would not be possible in those conditions. This just goes to show the superiority of Sony & their devices.
Yea for sure! The Sony Alpha “S” range just makes low light shooting so much more accessible! To be fair though I think with the long exposures and some of the shots you could get away with any brand or camera (one of my hero’s always says “have your favourite camera and all that but never use your camera as a reason NOT to shoot something”) 👌

It’s kind of personal preference and depends how much light you’re working with! On the A7sii I don’t worry too much about pushing the iso but I’ll tend to be around double-ish my focal length in shutter speed and then balance the light with Aperture and ISO after that 👌

Got excited after purchasing one of these lenses second hand yesterday for ~£100 equivalent and I can't wait to get out with it!

How do I set ISO and shutter speed at night?

Just wondering; did u use crop mode for any of these? I know the 60mm would become 90mm...

That’s okay, I tend not to use the crop mode ever, just because 12mp isn’t a tonne and want to use as much of the sensor as possible 👌
